The Winter Writ

The Winter Writ

As winter is about to come we can't shun the habit of wearing woolen which would essentially make us look plump. Winter is one season for which we have uncontrolled disdain; in this season in large swathes of South India there is seasonal rain. In Winter we feel low and to retain glow we have dry fruits inclusive of walnuts which is miles pricey than peanuts. In Winter we are not privy to developments across globe as power fluctuation is on a roll. Winter we dread and we hope it should not prolong as it even halts the movement and synchronous evolution of those who claim to be King Kong.

From October Middle To March Riddle Winter lasts and it is no season of laughing blast. Winter coating can never be fun as it halts the sum and substance of a sensation essentially named grin.  Mild exercise can keep us fighting fit, those in border areas can't access the fighting kit essentially comprising food and clothing as they are swayed by winter writ. Winter writ we disdain and in abundance is the demand for cain.

Very few in our country are ready to greet the onset of winter which largely affects the livelihood of politicos to printer. In winter the daily newspapers trim as there is no news that can release the sentiments of brim. The size of publications go short and to fight away the winter blues there is strict no no to sleeping in open on a cot. Winter we fret and in Winter some flee to the countryside in a globe where there is seasonal outpouring of ice. From Dubai to Dusseldorf there is pounding of ice which essentially translates to climate change taking us by surprise. Winter won't spare us and no one would go untamed as it is one season that has sizeable turf and claim. We even lose the capacity to gauge and surmise as Winter is really dreadful and in places as varied as England can have a coating of assize guise.

Some take to rum at the drop of hat without noticing this very act would invite blat. Those deprived of rum partake seasonal juice as if it is something that calls for ready reckoner notably peruse. From Delhi to Denmark the Winter season is something relished by shark which can hurt humans in abundance who are in attendance and in a state of hark.

As we miss Al Jazeera News Channel we hope it would be beamed soon with erudite scholar and panel in a room. Our best wishes are with sports people across world, we hope frisking would be in place across North America to Europe where there is contest of soccer and basketball with enough fain and no pounding of rain.

Muqabla Show beamed on NDTV India Channel on September 26 was quite engaging and informative

Muqabla Show beamed on NDTV India Channel on September 26 was quite engaging and informative

Muqabla show beamed on NDTV India Channel on Sunday was quite a treat. It showcased the state of Uttar Pradesh mired in contradictions and with no development and adding to the dilemma was caste alone as  the barometer of progress. Views of participants were engaging enough especially that of Mr Sharat Pradhan. Three Cheers for NDTV Anchor Mr Sanket Upadhyay.

Happy Birthday in advance to Mr Prannoy Roy. Hope NDTV Channels have a smooth sail and their staff members and their family members continue to receive blessings for decades to come. We would also like to take this opportunity to lend loads of good wishes to Film Actor Mr Rajinikanth and his family members.

Big Congratulations to UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Exam Topper Mr Shubham Kumar who hails from Bihar

Big Congratulations to UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) Exam Topper Mr Shubham Kumar who hails from Bihar

Big Congratulations to UPSC Exam Topper Mr Shubham Kumar. He topped the civil services exam in his third attempt. He observed poverty alleviation, village development and employment generation would be his priorities. In all of the three areas our nation lags behind with the govt of the day showing no vision and no forward movement. Hope Mr Shubham Kumar has a smooth sail and his family's support continues for decades to come.

A Vindictive Regime can be callous and destructive.

The Afghan Conundrum And The Nations Whose Hands Are Tied in Boredom

The Afghan Conundrum And The Nations Whose Hands Are Tied in Boredom

In Adverse Circumstances Rolling Out A Story That Doesn't Ignite Query

In Adverse Circumstances Rolling Out A Story That Doesn't Ignite Query

Of Afghan crisis and soaring Almond Prices

Of Afghan crisis and soaring Almond Prices

Given the Afghan crisis and soaring almond prices that roughly translates to Rs 1100 a kg as spelt out by Mr Garg who is in his store sharp 9.30 am when quarter of the world desires to have rum. Morning in India is night for more than quarter of the world which desists the tendency to read fine prints of blurb that is no less than laudatory curve. As Afghan would unfold into something that would be bold one needs to watch out for Kabul and Kandahar and the certainty that exists for rain car. One hopes the Afghan territory and its leadership which shows no signs of asemia don't roll out a roadmap that is curtains for peace and the unfolding peace in whatever format in the terrain is no pap. One would stay focused on Afghanistan which is not far away from a terrain named Hindustan. As tennis player Ms Naomi Osaka withdrew from French Open given the state of mental health we pray that very few fall prey to spell of depression that is taxing and robs you of emotional thunder and that is by no means pieman.

As we started feeling low and went into diminutive hiding given the volley of abuse that we were slapped with showed the gall of the driver whose diktats run large and untamed in a city where there is repeated rain. As we are subjected to this uninterrupted spell of torture at the hands of a driver for the past five years the competition to stay agile has been ruptured given the mandate that he has been showered with that is no less fierce. There is lawlessness in toto and there is no force that can veto.

As we are concerned over plight of farmers across India the channel report on Telangana farmers was truly alarming where the wait for compensation has endured for long and here the State Govt needs to act fast and doling out compensation is not an act of aghast. Telangana Govt is doing well and it needs to seize the moment and give compensation to farmers who are as rich and savior as any human.

Here we would like to extend good wishes to Ms Naomi Osaka, Ms Gauf , Ms Serena Williams and tennis legends across world. Hope other sportspersons sail with enough moments to roll out tale.

Janmashthami Celebrations beamed from Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat

Janmashthami Celebrations beamed from Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat

We wait for entire year for Janmashtami celebrations from Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat that are beamed on Doordarshan Girnar Channel. This time the celebrations were beamed for roughly 15 to 17 minutes. Perhaps a longer duration would be advisable. It has been more than two years since we have not been to Dwarkadhish.

News Channels which have their headquarters away from Gujarat say New Delhi or Mumbai show least interest in sending OB Vans to cover Janmashthami celebrations in Dwarkadhish.

Chandan Mitra Whom We Knew

 Chandan Mitra Whom We Knew

Chandan Mitra was a man of varied interest. His flair for writing took him to the sky and he could pen thoughts even in adverse circumstances. Having joined Hindustan Times in 1992 or perhaps earlier than that hundreds of active and budding journos had the golden opportunity to work with him. He was the one who proffered the idea of writing independently and with intuitive skills. When terrorism was at its peak in Punjab he saw to it that reportage in HT was absolute. He constantly cajoled journos to bring the best in them and perform. Perhaps in the '80s he had worked in Times of India and range of other  publications before moving to behemoth publication HT.

Having joined HT in November 1993 i had the blessings of working with him and he was open to the idea of i writing in foreign affairs despite being a junior. All stories written by me were not accepted in totality and yet Chandan as he was fondly called saw to it that justice was done to my laborious efforts. As long as he was in HT my stories on foreign affairs got clinically and periodically accepted and i salute the man who gave the ladder to rise. There was stiff resistance from the News Desk and some working in the bureau that how could a sub editor do stories on foreign affairs and Chandan stood his ground that if the story furnished by me had merit it could be published. During range of interactions with him he revealed that i had the potential to be Assistant Editor and that observation was quite laudable from his side. I still remember my tete-a-tete with Australian Foreign Minister on Spratly Islands was too long to be accepted and he sent it for inclusion in the Sunday Supplement. During that period i had been to Tirumala in 1996. On my return i offered Tirumala Prasadam to Chandan and he was more than pleased to accept the same. I can fondly recall that a story on Kyrgyzstan was one he readily accepted and it got published in no time.

He was one journo who could raise raise story from a state of slumber and reach zenith with his writing skills. In June 1996 he moved to the newspaper The Pioneer as full-fledged Editor and dominated the proceedings for over two decades. He even went on to become its owner later. His flamboyant writing skills and his respect to every individual no matter whether he was a person with sober background for instance a labourer or technician  or one with erudite background was one that made him special.
