Spacious Room In Guruvayur; Visiting Chavakkad Beach In Kerala State In South India

Spacious Room In Guruvayur; Visiting Chavakkad Beach In Kerala State In South India

Having taken a spacious room in Krishna Kripa Tourist Home in East Nada in Guruvayur in Kerala State in South India, the sum advanced at the counter nearly aligned with neat and tidy proposition that some lodge invariably come with. Here some lodges/tourist homes come with neat landscape and that can win hearts. With the intent to stay longer looking implausible I often wondered why Thiruvanthapuram Rajdhani departure time from Thrissur had been pushed back by over three hours and doesn't Indian Railways understand the basic premise that changing train timing to odd hours can upset the schedule of commoners? The train timing changed one can barely fathom, what about train ticket and chances of gaining the same looking as receding as sighting of rains in some parts of country. Here in India the priority booking (Tatkal Ticket) is misnomer of sorts and here anyone looking for swift ride ends with eggs on his face.

The Ride To Chavakkad  Beach

Friday was the day when I decided to visit Chavakkad beach and this I was doing almost after nine years. Visited the bus stand and the public transport left at 3.18 PM going past Chittilappily Tower bus stop, going past stores which have uncanny resemblance with shops across India. The ride is amidst thick banana plantation and here in this part of world banana sightings are common occurrence. Having reached Chavakkad take another bus from a spot which has in its vicinity Kottungal Shopping Complex and the ride to the beach is completed by 3.51. In the second bus there were fair number of Young Muslim Women joining the chorus and they were upbeat as there is amity among people with different religious backgrounds. Kerala is known to steal the show irrespective of caste, creed and colour.

Getting To The Root Of Chavakkad

So much has changed in Chavakkad from 2016 when I was here. There are more shops and they make an appearance with an aim to gain income irrespective of turnout at the beach. The water looks discolored much to do with large number of tourists wading into the same and with vessels in good numbers one can sight parked next to the beach they are intended to be used for fishing. With vendors wishing to sell their wares the picture that takes shape is equivalent of any other beach in India where visitors have the urge to feel the depth of water. Here thoughts are on Meet In Davos and how its fortunes have all but swindled over the years. As I left the place with imaginary tales woven around beaches the nagging thought they be spared and kept clean may not be a tall order. Still the Chavakkad beach is comparatively less diluted and for miles one can sight water alone.

Meeting Some Students In Chavakkad

Meet Mr Sarang Class 10 student and Mr Sinan all of them residing in Chavakkad. Mr Sinan told me that his father has employees who go for fishing and one hopes they get at regular intervals weather updates. Weather updates are essential in a nation like India as fishing is one profession that can have shaky balance if weather has unforeseen twist. What to talk of twist in the ocean the undiluted and blistering heat in place like Delhi is to do with global warming and more the air conditioners and other machines run, cars navigate and flights take to sky, the heat is all feared to reach crescendo.

SREE NAGAYAGSHI TEMPLE is in Chavakkad. And so are some visible mosques. Meet Mr Agnal Accountant working in Thrissur and perhaps the office would be in Thrissur Round the most frequented quarter in this city. The Thrissur Roundabout abutting Guruvayur and this is one place the traffic temperament is subdued and be it Hindu, Christian or Muslim they share a bonhomie that entire nation would crave for.

Making It To Lord Guruvayurappan Temple In Guruvayur In Kerala State On Three Different Occasions

Making It To Lord Guruvayurappan Temple In Guruvayur On Three Different Occasions

Having visited Lord Guruvayurappan Temple on Thursday, I followed this with a visit on Friday and Saturday as well. I skipped getting into general queue and got into a paid one. Perhaps the Lord would forgive me for taking this stand. Putting thoughts into notebook was easier said than done and this I realised both days. One has to take away the shirt while on the way to sanctum sanctorum and be in that state till one doesn't leave the temple.

The Big Invite From Lord Guruvayurappan

The Big Invite From Lord  Guruvayurappan made me visit the temple on three different occasions and all peppered with a prayer in motion. Had this invite not in the realm of possibility I would have never made it to Guruvayur just under two years. Ever since I came from Guruvayur in September 2023 I had an incessant longing to be there again and Lord Guruvayurappan made this possible. On Friday post visit to the temple I waded into a world of uncertainty with I having to change lodge with no assurance whatsoever it would be minus hiccups. After checking into Krishna Kripa Tourist Home I bided time with the hope that coming Tuesday would be departure day. To my surprise I came to know that Thiruvanthapuram Rajdhani which used to leave on Tuesday at 8.30 PM had been pushed back to 11.50 (PM) and taking train at this odd hour from Thrissur would be highly taxing and inappropriate. This doesn't mean that there are law and order issues here as seen in patches of North India, it is more to do with carrying your luggage with no porter in sight and train parked at the platform for just under three minutes and this the best available opportunity to board the same. The change in train timing has inconvenienced large number of passengers. With dinner nixed given the train timing I would be at the receiving end with no support from any quarter.

Taking Air India Ticket To Delhi From Trinity Air Travel And Tours

I visited Trinity Air Travel And Tours and booked Air India ticket to Delhi. My all plans to stay till Tuesday coming to a naught I believed this was what Lord Guruvayurappan had desired. Lodge-hopping can be stressful and not exciting and there was no guarantee that I would be sailing the next four days as lodge guys are hot headed. The desire to try cyber cafe came handy with Krishna online hub (Harikrishna Internet Cafe) I keeping a date with and the staff including Madam Sushma off and on sorting queries. This is one among different cyber cafes in Guruvayur, the other prominent being Nandu cyber cafe. Landing in Guruvayur on Wednesday and from Thursday early morning hours rains made an appearance with a bang. Intermittent rains may have improved the air quality and unlike Delhi where Air Quality is poor for most of the days in a year here it is good to moderate irrespective of rains. The traffic is thin, the residents don't feel the pressing need to take out their personal vehicle and here autos share space with other set of vehicles with aplomb. Here road rage incidents one least comes across and with traffic not multiplying every passing minute the traffic trajectory stays subdued.

Visiting Indian Coffee House

I made umpteen dash to Indian Coffee House and cutlets and black tea deserve praise. The staff is courteous and this cafeteria having repeat visitors.  SRIKRISHNA BHAVAN for meals and Nandini Restaurant for evening snacks were prime visits minus any irritants.

The urge to be with Lord Guruvayurappan was the one based on a premise that stay from Wednesday and lasting till next Tuesday would be the schedule but the lodge guys in a hurry to wrap up my visit made me take a second look at my itinerary.

Stay In Thrissur And Stay In Guruvayur

Stay In Thrissur And Stay In Guruvayur

Having reached Thrissur I checked in Jaya Lodge on Kuruppam Road. I could not gain much sleep given the odd hour I made entry to the lodge. The search for milk led me to a store in Thrissur Round. And mind you the milk served in entire South India there are receding chances that it would be 100 per cent authentic. Well the clamour for milk dilutes the credible supply and Coorg Condiments In Yeshwantpur In Bengaluru made the cut as far as reliable milk is concerned. There would be stores in Kerala like the Milma one where authenticity is 100 per cent. And here one has to search and search.

BULLS NET Solitary Cyber Cafe

BULLS NET in Vadakke Stand, Paliyam Road in the vicinity of Karunakaran Nambiar Road came handy as far as search for cyber cafe I was interested in. This is solitary cyber cafe in Thrissur Round. And this I am visiting after September 2023.  Kerala Meals from Pathans Restaurant was something one would like to recall down the months. There was a gentleman from Kerala who too had the same set of meals seated in the vicinity. Perhaps Kerala Meals have more admirers and this club has expanded over the years.

Reaching Guruvayur

Having completed Thrissur Round board KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) bus which leaves at 1.40 PM. Goes past Govt Law College, goes past Hyatt Regency Thrissur, goes past series of homes on either side. There is an ad of Indian Institute of Commerce Lakshya something that has been doing the rounds of Manorama News Channel for some time. As the bus goes past Puzhakkal bridge one can sight a little later MILMA shoppe store. At 1.58 Guruvayur is 21 kms away. As the bus goes past Kerala Gramin Bank thoughts are on walk from Alipiri Gate To Tirumala. Post sighting of green belt off and on the bus makes it to Guruvayur at 2.30. There aren't any porters at Guruvayur bus stand and I believe there would be none in the lodge I would check in. I am given room on first floor of Rugmini Kalyan Mandapam and Lodging. The stay is least comfortable with I being told to change room when I am yet to complete 20 hours. The next day I am told to vacate the lodge and search for another lodge consumes more than two hours.

Gaining Room In Krishna Kripa Tourist Home

I gain room in Krishna Kripa Tourist Home and with no porters around I have to carry bags on my own. That is a hard task given the weighty bags and weighty airs the lodge guys have. This I have experienced over the years that gaining accommodation in Lord's Own Land is quite bothersome and despite making prior booking the chances are one is never kept in the loop. The search itself is tedious and lodge-hopping takes centrestage.

Visiting Lord Guruvayurappan Temple

It is on Thursday I get the first opportunity to visit Lord Guruvayurappan Temple. I join the queue at 4.25 AM and in the backdrop of Thursday the rush is huge. Seconds turn to minutes, minutes turn to hours and in the face of ceremonies and the rush the wait is endless. Elephant makes an appearance and by the time it leaves Temple the queue begins to move. By the time one makes it to sanctum sanctorum it is well past 10.40 and gaining fleeting glimpse of Lord Guruvayurappan is more than one would have asked for. Close to seven hours spent and this evergreen opportunity and sparing this much time for Lord Guruvayurappan is commendable. Lord Guruvayurappan beckons those who give respect to different religion and bringing each individual in limelight.

The Ride From Bengaluru to Thrissur Through Tamil Nadu State On A Tuesday

The Ride From Bengaluru to Thrissur Through Tamil Nadu State On A Tuesday

Having reached Bengaluru from Hampi with ticket in hand of a bus that is supposed to leave from Kalasipaylam (Bengaluru) the next day the thought of spending over 12 hours doesn't bother me. The journey that commenced from New Delhi has by and large remained smooth and I not coming across any person who has been out and out rude.  The auto that takes me to Kalasipalyam from Anand Rao Circle is one steered by Mr Gowda who is down to earth. Leave from Kalasipayalam at 1.40 PM.  Kalasipayalam is considered to be bedrock of buses functioning in private sphere much subjected to wear and tear. Hope the buses with least bruises are serviced at random intervals even if one is an outfit that is purple.

Leaving Kalasipalyam; Reaching Hosur

As the bus left Kalasipalyam and went past Nawab Hyder Ali Khan Road the image of an India where average road with different set of vehicles sharing space becomes crystal clear.  Reach Hosur at 3.50 and from here we are very much in Tamil Nadu State In South India much known to lend fillip to industrial base with least sighting of hiccups. Hosur is an established industrial city quite matching the strides made by other galvanised cities of State taking the comfort of an administration in office that is receptive to varied ideas.

Next To Forest Cover The Road Goes

Reach Bathapalli at 3.58 and some time later go past Sri Sathya Sai Marriage Hall. Here I can't keep away thoughts on Guruvayur and the likely stay that shouldn't open doors to disconcerting moments. Next to thick forest cover the road goes and the bus is literally gliding. As One is overwhelmed by thoughts about visits to Anjanadri Betta, Anjanadri Hill, Hanumanahalli in Koppal District In Karnataka there are directions to Dakshina Tirupathi. One can't make much guess about Dakshina Tirupathi and how different it is from Andhra Tirupati.

Here Institution Going By The Name Nalanda As Well

Moments later go past Paakshala Restaurant and there are in good sequence on way to Bengaluru from Hospet. We are gong through shoolagiri area. There is New Little Flower Matric School. There are as well strategically placed rocks something much in play in Anegundi, Anjanadri Betta and on way to Hampi.  STAR BIRIYANI since 1890 and they welcome you at different spots. Reached M. Murugan Idli. Perhaps that may be a place or an outlet. We are in Krishnagiri roundabout at 4.50. Nalanda International Public School And Junior College one can sight with ease and do they take painstaking efforts to maintain punctuality like the one by Nalanda Institution in Bihar State? First stopover is at Jamuna Sweets. On offer are sugar free badushah (Balushahi In North India) and other range of sweets. There are spate of Saravana Bhavan Restaurants. PMKR Palace evokes curiosity and admiration.

What Distance Keeps Apart Coimbatore And Ooty  (Udhagamandalam)

At 6.02 Coimbatore is 210 kms and Ooty 266 kms. At 6.50 reach the spot from where one can enter Salem Airport.  Which year this airport was thrown open for public use and do Air India Flights operate from here? Air India Flights one have a liking as the meal served (meal fare is included in air fare) is something to cherish and can transport you to a new world. Air India Express should as well serve meal on board. At 7 PM go past Periyar University Salem. From 7.00 to 7.55 there is traffic snarl due to diversion and the bus can barely move with known momentum. At 8.45 reach Saravana Bhavan restaurant (Salem) and the service rendered by staff is commendable . Reach Coimbatore at 12 AM, Palakkad 1.40 and Thrissur (Kerala State) at 2.45. It was a ride lasting over 12 hours . Reach Jaya lodge on Kuruppam Road by 3.15.

This ride was in a bus with expressive intent to reach its destination and pitfalls of liberalisation much evident on roads didn't let it stray and the men at the wheels of KALLADA TOURS AND TRAVELS were alert and buoyant during the entire course of journey. The very fact it reached Thrissur a little before 3 set in despite diversion lasting almost an hour should bring in praise for the staff and the machine. Three cheers for KALLADA TOURS AND TRAVELS.

Interaction In And Around Hampi

Interaction In And Around Hampi

As I reached Hampi and having checked in Rocky Guest House what I could gather was meeting with Mr Kiran of Gopi Guest House won't be possible before Monday as he had gone to attend a wedding in Bengaluru. WhatsApp chats from Anegundi least revealed his travel plans and I doubly sure of meeting him the moment I stepped on Hampi soil.  Saturday and Sunday were spent Exploring Hampi and to one's surprise there were rains every second to third hour. Rains that didn't let sultry conditions set in and here we were amidst surroundings that uploaded green space to one's delight. Getting to know the fare that automen would charge to pay a visit to an ATM brought forth the clandestine designs and here one was helpless. To my surprise Mr Giri appeared willing to fetch me a ride be it Anjanadri Betta, Anjanadri Hills, Hanumanahalli or the desire to flock to Kamlapur where some get captivated post Hampi visit to drool.

Making An Appearance On A Monday

Mr Kiran finally made an appearance on Monday looking ever ready to look back at the innings of Gopi Guest House and efforts that went to raise this Paradise. Interaction with him revealed that his parents moved heaven and earth to get Gopi GH going and it were in the early years of '90s that it came up. From then Gopi GH had been receiving steady stream of visitors with more willing to record observations in note books neatly kept next to the cashier table. The notings could be anything about the services rendered in Gopi to they taking a trek to Hampi and far away places and gaining breather of sorts after returning to Guest House post exhaustive visits.

The Duration Of Stay Could Vary

Tourists flocking to Hampi and staying in Gopi and other Guest Houses could be anything between one week to over a month. The time I was in Hampi it was a lean season (April To August) with fewer staging a comeback. During the rush hour season the visitors mostly from Scandinavian countries had developed a liking for Gopi and other guest houses and innumerable tales one could link to with many repeat visitors. Repeat visitors increased the footfall and brought handsome dividends to them. Unlike Mr Rakesh Singh alone guiding Rocky Guest House and getting positive vibes he deserved, here there were four brothers going by the names Gopi, Kiran, Naresh and Manju and some among them steering the wheels of Gopi and the bonhomie they shared was amazing. The stay this time in Rocky Guest House was something to raise applause and perhaps when the season is on the visitors and their footprint take a jump and they stay for a better part of a month.

All Eyes On New Hampi

Mr Kiran divulged that his another establishment was coming up in New Hampi and all eyes were fixated to its Inauguration Days. One wasn't sure how far New Hampi would be from here and would it portend challenges and dynamics of a different scale? During the course of conversation he got me on line with a gentleman in New Delhi who was least willing to budge despite blistering heat. From traffic mayhem to pestering heat New Delhi had seen it all and this made Hampi poles apart. With no extreme weather fluctuations and with rains in sizeable droplets every now and then the weather whiplash was least to bother about. And this made Mr Kiran thunder that Hampi was All Heaven.

Interaction With Mr Sai Of Annapurna Cafe

I had equal opportunity to interact with Mr Sai of Annapurna Cafe And Restaurant who had least hesitation in sharing his mobile number and content with earnings be it solitary visitor on a dull day or more than dozen marking attendance another day. I had the fortune of interacting with Ganesh Restaurant Staff when I had visited Hampi in September 2014. And here now the said cafe shut down (low season) the sister cafeteria Vishnu hosting visitors now and then. Interaction with staff of Prince Cafe was short and swift and so was tete-a-tete with a host of other meal drop outlets. The New Year rings in visitors in abundance and so does other Festival Days And Hampi takes pride in the fact that in the face of uncluttered climate it has reasons to smile and lend surprise.

Stay In Hampi And Trek To Vitthala Temple; Leaving Hampi For Bengaluru

Stay In Hampi And Trek To Vitthala Temple; Leaving Hampi For Bengaluru

Having reached Hampi on a Saturday and having checked in Rocky Guest House there were fewer revelations with far away the desk of aviation. The guest house personnel going by the name Mr Lakshman got me on line with owner Mr Rakesh Singh who later divulged that three generations had been born and brought up in Hampi and family's tree one could trace to Rajasthan. Lakshman was helpful in nick of time dispensing mineral water which was of a brand that was not contaminated. If ever one ventures out of home one has to watch out for accommodation one stays, the food one takes and water one drinks.

Here ATMs Disappear In Thin Air

From 2018 what had changed in Hampi was the turnout of people flocking Virupaksha Temple (Lord Shiva Temple) and nearby areas. ATMs and State Bank Of India branch had been done away with and this incovenienced the tourists and making them negotiate a ride to Kamlapur and that too to gain ATM Advantage was a tall order. In Kamlapur there were in all four ATMs, some functioning and some gathering dust for ages. A malfunctioning ATM can lead to series of issues and here caution is the buzzword. After returning from Kamlapur with notable mention of the road that leads to the same from Hampi and this set of road evokes curiosity as well as praise. Evergreen to the last mile, this stretch is wonder of wonders.

Anjanadri Betta One More Time

Settled for dinner from Prince cafeteria and early next day set out on a mission to access Anjanadri Betta one more time.  The time I entered sanctum sanctorum and the time I left the collection of devotees wasn't that tall considering it was a holiday with more geared to stay at home. Before noon sets in I settle for grub from Annapurna cafe and restaurant run by brother-sister duo. The cafeteria neat and tidy till the last stretch, the cuisine that is prepared and deft skills employed for the same is something to applause. There is least application of spice and the food that is served is soft on stomach

Leaving For Vitthala Temple

Start on foot at 3.50 PM from Hampi. There are directions to Vitthala Temple, Achyutaraya Temple and Yeduru Basavarana.  Vendors of tea, cap and fruits take a fair space.  A little later go past  the board giving directions to  YANTRODHARAKA HANUMAN TEMPLE. Few minutes  later some trying to board a boat on Tungabhadra River. At 4.07 we are in Achyutarapura. On a board places impeccably mentioned in and around  Achyutarapura. At 4.07 we reach Varaha Temple. At 4.12 reach Sugriva Cave. Sugriva cave is one of narrow caves found among the many boulders that make up the hillocks of Hampi area. Here in proximity are  banana plantations.

Reaching Vitthala Temple

At 4.25 we reach notings made on Vijayanagara Architecture. Reach Vitthala Temple at 4.30. The Vitthala Temple represents the highest watermark of the Vijaynagara style of art and architecture. The temple is said to be built under the patronage of Devaraya II (1422-46CE) on the basis of a reference in Uttara Narasimha Purana. The entry to the temple is from side way as well with no entry fee whatsoever. After exiting from here Virupaksha Temple is 2.3 kms. While coming back from Vitthala Temple sighting of a board

-Beware of crocodiles

- No swimming. Deadly whirlpools in the river. A little later when I reach Kodandarama Swamy Temple I take coconut water from Ramavilas centre. Make it to Hampi before 6 PM sets in. One is too exhausted by taking this trek and I settle for ORSL Electrolyte Orange Drink.

The ride from Hampi to Hospet to Bengaluru

From Hampi Hospet is 13 kms. The ride is on Kamlapur Road with  banana plantations making appearance now and then. Go past The Hampi Bazar Banana silk. Plots for sale. RGRA approved plots. The ride is through a colony with well maintained road.

Sightings On The Way; Reaching Hospet Central Bus Stand

Sight the world famous DODLA milk van. Go past Asirvad Micro Finance Ltd Mannapuram Finance Ltd. Go past Banaras Pan Centre. As these notings are made one appears flustered with no porters at Hospet Central bus stand.  One has to trudge to Platform One. Next to Platform One Mr Kanchan Gowda guides me about Airavat bus service. The wait at Platform One brings forth the image of an India where everytime KSRTC bus used to come the number of passengers waiting to get in outstripped  the number of seats available.

Wind Plants In Good Numbers

AIRAVAT bus starts a little after 4.45 PM. No sooner the bus leaves there are sighting of wind plants and this bringing in detail the stride The State Of Karnataka has taken to get to clean air.  Kudligi comes at 5.15.  Some could be seen carrying SBI Passbooks which has to be updated to get to the bottom of transactions. And transactions could be anything under the sun

What Distance Keeps Apart Mangalore, Shivamogga And Chitradurga

At 5.40 Mangalore is 375 kms, Shivamogga 162 and Chitradurga 80. Reach Chikajogihalli at 5.45. At 6.10 reach Mudala Machikere. At 6.23 Mangalore 317, Shivamogga 126 and Chitradurga 20.  Here thinking about Ajmer Shatabdi Train emanating from Ajmer and reaching New Delhi. Thinking as well about Morbi in Gujarat. Mr Mahesh Shankar who is seated next to me and has an eye for detail tells me about Yantrodharaka Temple (Lord Hanuman Temple) on way to Vitthala Temple. At 6.28 wind power plants in a row could be seen. At 6.30 there are  directions to Mangalore, Davangere and Chitradurga.  At 6.32 directions as well to Chitradurga, Turuvanur and Bengaluru. If hoarding of Spoorthi Delicacy are there so are other hoardings signifying the import of travelling in AIRAVAT BUS which are serviced at regular interval thereby enlisting cheers. The bus makes it to Majestic well after 10.40 with the ride in Bengaluru through Raj Kumar Road and Rajaji Nagar.

Interaction Was Quite Broad

Interaction with Mr Mahesh was  broad and quite gratifying. He had been invited by IIT Delhi for a conference in recent past. Though quite impressed by wide well maintained roads of Delhi, he could not get the opportunity to be face to face with traffic temperament of city as much of the commute was accomplished by metro. During a stopover at Kamat Refreshment Centre (Kamat Refreshment Centre Is In Nashik In Maharashtra State As Well) we waded into other areas of interest with issues that least invite controversy and ire and issues that raise 24 ×7 vigil and desire.

In Bengaluru The Two Temples I Came Across; Leaving Anegundi For Hampi

In Bengaluru The Two Temples I Came Across; Leaving Anegundi For Hampi

While In Bengaluru visits to food outlet Gandharva Uphara which is in 12, 4th Cross R K Puram revealed the simplicity maintained here with no fear. The food on table was soft on stomach and the one holding the fort Mr Ravi and his peers on occasions having doughnuts. Visits as well to SRI BHAVAHARA GANPATHI TEMPLE and SRI ANNAMMADEVI MAHASAMSTHANA on S C Road were truly uplifting with those marking their attendance at the latter had possibilities least receding. SRI ANNAMMADEVI MAHASAMSTHANA HAD AUDIENCE surge during day time with some hoping their day to day itinerary won't stay still and would shine.

Taking A Stroll In Anegundi And Exploring

While taking a stroll in Anegundi came across Akhil Eco-friendly Handmade Paper Craft Shop as well as Jamia Masjid and here notable mention may be made of some of the places that come under Koppal Tourism. Perhaps if one were to take a ride in Sweekar ( public transport battery operated) and going past Hoova Cafe and Navavrundavana Darshini the will to explore could bring one face to face with

- Uramma Temple

- Honna Agasi

- Ranganath Temple

- Gagan Mahal

- Gram Panchayat

- Cottage Industry

- Navabrindavana Ghat

- 64 Pillar Mantapa

- Talwarghatta Gate

- Chintamani Temple Complex

- Hucchappayana Matha

- Durgadevi Temple

- Ane Maatu Onte Saalu

- Royal Palace

- Festival Ground

Anegundi Village

Anegundi is a significant historical site in Karnataka, located on the left bank of Tungabhadra river in Gangavathi Taluk. An inscription from 1349 AD refers to Anegundi as 'Bhaskara Kshetra Dakshina Varanasi Hastinapura'. During the Vijaynagara period foreign travelers like Nuniz and Dominge Paes mentioned Anegundi as ' Nagundium and Senagundium'.

While going towards No 1 River Cross To Hampi there are bamboo made boats lying unattended. There is a solitary vessel on the side of Hampi trying to earn some brownie points. As ATMs in and around KVR Complex have shut shop and Hoova Cafe too not in functioning mode the hoarding of Spoorthi Group Of Institutions evoke little interest. Hoova Cafe and the little girl Shreya whom I came across in 2014 is now studying in Bengaluru and perhaps settling for meals from college canteen and this run by those who have never been to Rajasthan's Churu.

Leaving For Hampi

As I left Anegundi acknowledging the true services rendered by members of Vaibhava Guest House (Mr Parshuram, Mr Malappa) the stay here in 2014, 2018 and 2025 were truly testament to the ideology that a base here can raise impeccable memories that you want to share. AS I left Anegundi on a Saturday with whisper in the corridors that the next place to rewind would be none other than Hampi where given the undiluted weather there is least urgency to run AC. The ride to Hampi lasted little over 25 minutes and having checked in Rocky Guest House ( Mr Rakesh Singh Is The Man Holding Fort) the room that is spared is spacious and neat and here in this town no one can sight cars' fleet.

Made rounds of Prince Restaurant Home Made Food, Annapurna Cafe And Restaurant, Vishnu Restaurant, Archana Restaurant (river view), Archana Shop, Gopi Restaurant and other places. Visited Virupaksha Temple on a Monday and participated in Abhishek Prayer Session which was quite elaborate and the staff very helpful. And the trek to Vitthala Temple and back consumed little over two-and-a-half hour. The stay in Hampi wasn't that elaborate perhaps erasing hopes on keeping a date with all significant milestones which are to stay steady for eon.

The stay in Rocky Guest House illustrated the innings of a resident who was sweet and caring enough to ensure the three day sabbatical was something to hail and greet.
