Churning in Karnataka's political landscape; there is none like MSD

Churning in Karnataka's political landscape; there is none like MSD

As Speaker dragged his feet on floor test in Karnataka House trust vote or no vote, the state is headed towards chaos and long series of confabulations. If Cong-JD(S) coalition fumbles and fails to win the trust vote as and when it happens, the spotlight would shift to Governor's office asking the single largest party to stake claim to form Govt - and this would be second time when BJP would be asked to form a govt. Beleaguered  legislators, impatient BJP and Cong-JD(S) in no hurry to rush through the trust vote. Last time round the BJP Govt was given 48 hours to prove its mettle in Assembly and just before motion was put to vote the Chief Minister put in his papers. That case was seen as Judicial Overreach when from 15 days the Supreme Court gave the Govt 48 hours to prove it had numbers in the House. If Cong-JD(S) coalition falls prey to coalition pangs and pressure the best course would be to hold polls afresh rather let single largest party take another shot at govt formation. One way or the other the State is headed towards polls even if BJP forms govt it won't have carte blanche for long.
There has been elaborate reporting on churning in Karnataka' political landscape by NDTV News Channel.

As i flipped through pages of HT which had a story by Shiv Sunny on the best police station in India in Kalu in Rajasthan State, days are not far when these very stations would actually resemble political stations with mikes being hurled and paper balls being thrown as two contesting parties waiting in the wings would prefer to take their dispute to these stations. The story by Shiv Sunny spoke about the police station equipped with a waiting room and air coolers.

There was another story on leading cricketer M S Dhoni and irrelevant queries/posers to him as it meant to trample his right to stay in 50 over format of the game. At 38, he can still be a reliable force when he turns 42 and his adaptive skills coming handy for Team India. The flavour of the season is MSD and his skills that could rub hard on opponents and their much-famed strategy. Had MSD taken to Tennis his share of success at venues like Flushing Meadows would have been terrific. A measured innings from a player who comes to bat at number 8 what more you expect from a player of this genre. Though Team India would have flurry of wicket keepers waiting in the wings there can be no one like MSD.

There was another story on Central Delhi being 99 per cent rain deficit. If this story soars to the headline it is primarily to do with the fact that water trains would become a reality in a country of a scale and size of India if water woes turn out to be perennial.

Belated Happy Birthday To Mr Tom Cruise and best wishes to him and his family members for decades to come. Best wishes to Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Gauff.
