Leaving for South India from New Delhi

Leaving for South India from New Delhi

As i decided to visit South India, the dilemma faced by me on getting a ticket through cleartrip website was difficult to dodge. The plane ticket mentioned no PNR and that was something that posed trouble at the airport.  Left Home for Airport at 12.05 pm with Mr Gurjeet Singh at the wheels. Indian oil petrol pump near Moti Bagh in New Delhi came handy as the personnel with the name Mr Ravindar Chauhan handed me change. The taximan was kind enough to drop me at the airport. Reached airport at 12.37.

Ms Pinto of Vistara Airlines put a poser to me as a ticket with no PNR could well mean no travel. There was another gentleman who took pride in the fact that in exceptional circumstances they entertained tickets with no PNR. That was crude on his part. In fact they had no difficulty to trace the PNR by feeding in the name of the traveller. There was Mr Prashant looking for a flight to Dharamshala and the Air India flight to Ludhiana had a spot fare of rs 40,000. There was another gentleman who had come from Saudi Arabia and destined to travel to Varanasi. He was carrying Euro notes and meant to be used in places/countries whose economies were showing turbulence.

Post frisking i met Mr Nitin Jain of Buddy who helped me to make a phone call from his cell. Vistara the inflight magazine carried a story on Nepal the mystical wonder. Flying to destinations within India since 2015 we (Vistara) launched international operations in 2019 by adding Singapore, Dubai, Bangkok and Colombo.

There was another story on Experiential travel which is a trend gaining momentum. Seated next to me was Mr Sundeep Reddy from Hyderabad. The flight took off a little after 2.40 pm. On getting to know that i had plans to walk from Alipiri Gate to Tirumala, he declared that he had the knack to walk from Alipiri Gate to Tirumala every two months. That was something to cheer. On most of the sectors in India they were dependent on China the country as far as raw materials went was his observation something that i found it hard to fathom. Mr Sundeep Reddy gave me his contact number and told me to look for APTDC site for rooms for places i wished to travel.  The descent begins at 4.40 and the flight lands at 5.02 pm in Hyderabad airport.

Having reached Hyderabad and collected luggage i headed towards bus stand from where for rs 265 the bus takes you to Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secundarabad. I understand the bus fare stands unchanged from 2018 when i visited Hyderabad.  In the bus i happen to meet Mr P V K Raju who took the trouble to do a room search in Srisailam on his smartphone, the place i was supposed to visit first. He had the fortune to work in Indian Institute of Chemical Technology. He handed me some of the cell numbers which i could try to gain access to rooms in Srisailam One Of 12 Jyotirlingas Of Lord Shiva.

Seated next to me was another gentleman who went by the name Mr G S Rao. He declared that the place where New Hyderabad Airport was located was drought prone area at one point of time and it had been developed like anything. He further added the population of Hyderabad had crossed 1 crore (10 million). The ride from Hyderabad Airport to JBS came with a spate of flyovers with P V Narasimha Rao flyover the longest and steady enough to carry any amount of traffic and spate of grandiose buildings and malls across either side. In fact it was P V Narasimha Rao who was Prime Minister of India hailing from Andhra Pradesh much credited for ushering in economic reforms in the country. Mr G S Rao spoke about high rates that Ola and Uber charged while going from airport to the city which are poles apart.

The man at the wheels was Mr Srinivas and he was kind and cheerful. The bus took more than one- and-a-half hour to reach JBS with traffic showing no signs of abating.  From JBS i took an auto mentored by Mr Madhu Sudan. I zeroed in on Padmaja lodge. Mr Adhikari was at the desk. Took Bombay Meals from Padmaja restaurant. It was from A R Mess point i took black tea.

Visiting Harat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi One More Time

Visiting Harat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi One More Time

As i took an Auto mentored by Mr Damodar of Bihar who was kind enough to drop me at Sarojini Nagar metro station it was time to visit Nizamuddin Railway Station.  The metro for Nizamuddin station left at 1.35 pm. Inside the coach the feat recorded by Delhi Metro went like this: Janakpuri West Metro Station has the tallest escalator in India with an elevation of 15.6 metres.

Stations on the way were Dilli Haat INA, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar (interchange here for violet line) Vinobapuri and Ashram. Happen to meet Mr Navel from Australia who was here as a tourist and with whom i discussed about bushfires razing parts of his country. Reached Nizamuddin metro station at 1.50 and as i came out there was a board bold and bountiful: Northern Railway welcomes you. Hazrat Nizamuddin Station

At the Ticket Vending Machine Mr R S Giri was dispensing tickets and he was helpful and kind enough to hand over Platform (PF) ticket. Spate of announcements for different trains greeted me which included Goa Express to depart from PF 7 at 3 pm, Bandra Nizamuddin Garibrath to depart at 3.35 from PF 7, Kerala Sampark Kranti from Chandigarh to Kochuveli  arriving on PF 4, Gondwana Express to depart from PF 4 at 3.20 pm, Shakurbasti Palwal EMU arriving on PF 4, Andaman Express arriving at 2.28 on PF 4, Shreedham Express to Jabalpur standing on PF 1, train number 18507 from Visakhapatnam to Amritsar Hirakud Express to arrive at 3.30 pm, delayed by 15 minutes and Agra Cantt Delhi Passenger arriving at 3.49 pm.

I was lucky enough to meet Mr Mani going to Chennai by Chennai Rajdhani.  He has worked in Indian Railways for 40 years. His son is an architect in Okhla in Delhi. Meet snack vendor Mr Chandrapal on PF 1. On PF 3 there is the lone PCO STD ISD booth, something to cherish. Hope the Delhi city and cities across India get flooded with PCO booths/ coin dipping phone stands. In the city of Bengaluru there are coin dipping phone stands. Meet Mr Prabhakaran going to Chennai by Chennai Rajdhani.

Meet Buddhist Monk Mr Champa with whom i discuss about famous monastery in Bylakuppe in Karnataka State in South India. Meet Mr Udayan pursuing Bachelor in Biology from London. Has Gained scholarship whereby he has to pay 50 per cent of tuition fee and this time round he was carrying huge luggage and headed towards Gwalior. AS i decided to leave i met Mr Giri once more and his demeanor suggested he was a person with simple habits.

Meet Mr Rahul Kumar who gives token at metro station. Meet Mr Daimary who does frisking and hails from Assam in North East India. Took auto mentored by Mr Shamim who is upright in his observation that grandiose ads placed by a party in different publications won't fetch votes and it is the party with the broom symbol that he is going to vote for the work done.

It was a visit to Nizamuddin Station flanked by a desire to know the cleanliness in different platforms which was noteworthy and personnel of Indian Railways coming with a demeanor that was out and out praiseworthy.

Reminiscing about Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Centre in Tirumala at home

Reminiscing about Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Centre in Tirumala at home

Polls in the city of Delhi and those voting with the name Everton Hailey

Polls in the city of Delhi and those voting with the name Everton Hailey

In less than a week from now there would be polls in Delhi and among those who would be voting would be a man from Scotland who has taken Indian Citizenship named Hailey. This poll brouhaha is all about whom to vote and whom to ploat, the poll expenses of different political parties are out to expand and bloat. The quantum of cash that has made its way into this poll frenzy is enormous and that illustrates the poll as a vibrant commerce.

Polls look to be timid and a bit farce; Need to focus on Health Services

This poll looks to be timid and a bit farce as issues have been swept under grass. Issues that should dominate the proceedings should be piped water supply for good number of hours a day, electricity/power supply that doesn't show an abnormal temperament/rise and those who are out to pay a bill that is almost thrice, the breakneck speed at which public transport buses like green, red and orange that ply with no fear and an agenda that tries to fix anomaly in the economy and that too with enough ambition and cheer. Health services in govt hospitals need to be upgraded and more additional beds and more govt medical centres need to come up in phases should be the goal in a city which is witnessing poll after a hiatus of five years and still making the criminals bold. How to tame the crime syndicate should be the pulsating agenda and how to make city freed from builder/sand mafia. The city so far is not narcotics fief and if remedial measures are not taken addicts would have a rich harvest to reap.

Graft freed municipal body

As for municipal body in the city that is enmeshed in graft and greed the time has come to greet and make it graft freed. Those filing property tax with honest intentions should be given priority, a graft freed municipal body would make Delhi sit pretty. The circle rates should come down drastically across colonies of Delhi so that it doesn't lead to holes in residents pocket/budget and that too yearly. As poll voting hours would draw to a close, the people in the city of Delhi would speak to persons in North America with the name Bose who would be ever ready to propose with a Rose.

Lakes in Delhi

This poll should propose an agenda whereby polls are held after every seven years instead of five and one that doesn't witness exchange of cash and make the person concerned occasionally jive. Well no report has come of cash seizure this poll season in the city of Delhi, the city that is witness to price rise of essential commodities an act accomplished cleverly.  From Delhi Cantt to Delhi Band from majority to minority all would be voting in a sense to elect a govt that tries to arrest price rise and see to it that it doesn't every season keep bloating. The price of crude refined as petrol and diesel is sky high and days are not far when India would in some days in a calendar year go dry. Days are not far when lakes would make surprise entry in the city of Delhi and these lakes would have enough quantum of water to fill your belly. Lakes are polluted in the city of Bengaluru enmeshed with froth and no effort has been cementing enough to fix this rot. Once lakes get distilled in the city of Bengaluru there would be cheer and quantum of support from places as far as Uru.

From Coimbatore to Connecticut

In the next five days from Coimbatore to Connecticut all would be discussing about Delhi polls that enlivens and occasionally dulls your very existence and tries to prevent you from getting a jolt. Which party would get a jolt and which party would bite the dust is not known, the hope is fractured mandate doesn't come to dominate the proceedings with glycerine soaked soap. News Channels across India would be wasting hours trying to decode the Delhi poll results, the better it would be for them to relay a thought or two on bushfires that have been raging Australia that tends to make the aforementioned country raise concern across Asia.

Unbiased reporting

News Channels in India need to drive an agenda whereby they push unbiased reporting and those indulging in tabloid journalism need to be shun and shut and with passage of time they won't be gloating. Tabloid journalism necessarily means reporting sensational news with no content; the sensationalism index they have largely taken on rent. As entertainment channels across India are not having a field day, their ever expanding expenses are keeping them from being active and be in the fray.

As Budget papers were tabled in India's Parliament, the time has come to raise concern and make employment generation the all-weather cement. Budget would be presented every year and with no fear and fiscal discipline would be the overriding goal in a nation which sees every season poll. Splurging should be something that should be stopped with immediate effect and all govt functions in five star hotels should have a blanket ban even if it sees attendance from Ket. The amount of money that is splurged on politicos and bureaucrats security is something to ponder, it is time the shrill campaign on this doesn't differentiate between gender.

As one publication put out mood of the nation poll it all look to be stage-managed with no hope. This mood of the nation poll is an irritant that needs to be taken out, the better it would be for this publication to concentrate on health services across nation and with no grouse. This mood of the nation poll was all bunkum and that shows it has been prepared after taking rum.

As we take this opportunity to extend good wishes to CNN, Al Jazeera and NDTV News Channels across world these are the news sources we cull. WE would like to extend Good Wishes to Ms Gauff, Ms Naomi Osaka, Ms Serena Williams, Ms Venus Williams, Ms Maria Sharapova and all tennis players and their family members. Best wishes to Pope Francis.

Visiting Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station By Metro On A Thursday

Visiting Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station By Metro On A Thursday

On a Thursday i had the fortune to visit Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in the heart of New Delhi. Coming close on the heels of declaring my intention to visit South India some time later the visit to the said station was accomplished in a Delhi Metro Coach. As i stepped inside metro coach post frisking there was proud proclamation which went like this: The Metro Network in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) is one of the largest in the world at 373 kms with 271 metro stations. This brings to the fore the metro network in Turkey (Istanbul) and the monumental feat that it has recorded and hope frisking is in place and it remains secured as ever. Hope the Moscow Metro too remains secured as ever and same hope for New York Metro.

As for Delhi Metro the metro stations that came on the way to Nizamuddin station were Dilli Haat INA, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri and Ashram. I had the fortune to meet Mr Aamir Khan who was headed towards Khan Market and sought directions to the same. He zeroed in on deboarding at Lajpat Nagar and taking another metro to Khan Market which was not that far from there. Lajpat Nagar is interchange station and one has to walk for a while to board another metro. Mr Aamir Khan's candid nature showed his upbringing was rock solid and that should be hailed by one and all.

A little after 2 pm i was at my destination and the walk to the said station from metro premises called for deft skills as the road was choc-a bloc with commuters, riders and passengers. There was a vending machine that dispensed platform ticket and this spared you from the trouble of standing in a queue.  I was carrying a torn note and the personnel was not prepared to accept that. The Waiting hall / Lounge on Platform 1 run by Tirupati Associates was something to cheer as it has a cordial staff and honest right from top to toe. They charge rs 10 for each hour spent and that is reasonable. The bathroom is squeaky clean. Again my best wishes to Tirupati Associates and Waiting Lounge.

There were series of announcements for different trains starting from Karnataka Sampark Kranti coming from Yashwantpur in Bengaluru City to Hazrat Nizamuddin on Platform 6, Hazrat Nizamuddin to Jabalpur Shreedham Express rescheduled to leave at 4 pm, Agra Cantt-Delhi Passenger arriving at 3.19 pm, Shakurbasti-Palwal EMU arriving on Platform 3, Nizamuddin-Ghaziabad EMU, Kerala Express from Thiruvanthapuram arriving on Platform 3, Sachkhand Express arriving at 3.01 pm on Platform 3, Gondwana Express to leave from Platform 4 at 3.20 pm. As i made mental note of these announcement a special word of praise for snacks vendor Mr Chandrapal on Platform 1 who was very cooperative in dispensing soap strips and accepted 100 rs torn note from me without any hesitation. I had collected this torn note from a public sector bank in Kamal Cinema. The platform 1 was squeaky clean and so were other platforms.

I had the opportunity to meet Buddhist Monk Mr Gangtulku who was going by Goa Express to Hubbali (it is spelled as Hubli and Hubbali was spelled on train coach) as the said train had some of its coaches going to Hubli. Mr Gangtulku was staying in Hubli in Karnataka State. We spoke about famous monastery near Mysore at Bylakuppe. I told him i had been to Mcleodganj where a large number of Buddhists resided. I could make note of Mr D K Singh TTE of Jhansi Division on Platform 7.

A little before 3 pm i left Nizamuddin station and as i waited for the metro i came across Mr Ansal Updhayay pursuing Bachelor of Engineering (Information Technology) from Army Institute of Technology Pune. He had come by Karnataka Sampark Kranti from Pune which started at 9 am the previous day and reached Hazrat Nizamuddin a little before 3 pm the next day. The train fare stood at over rs 2000 and air adventurism he resisted as the fare would have been much higher than that had he done spot booking. Having reached Sarojini Nagar Metro Station i hailed auto driven by Mr Kauser Ali who was very humble.

On a Sunday i had the opportunity to visit Khan Market where i collected the calendar from Narula's Stationery where the staff was very humble. My best wishes to them. Later i visited Sarojini Nagar Market in an auto mentored by Mr Vishnu whose humble nature and honesty needs to be appreciated. I collected bag from VIP Store.

Discussing about Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Centre in Tirumala at home

As we discussed about Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Centre in Tirumala and high standards maintained by the Centre at home it came close on the heels of our declaration of intent to travel to other part of India some time later.  The ride to a new destination would be accomplished by a mode of transport which would make us reach the said destination in record time and with full accomplishments. We are thankful to Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Anna Prasada Centre in Tirumala for providing us meals that is necessarily prasadam with a service that is unparallel. As we carry prayer diary with us the thought is on where to keep the diary when we are having prasadam. There should be personnel inside the Centre who can keep our diary which we can collect after having the prasadam. As we would make an effort to walk from Alipiri Gate to Tirumala with the blessings of Lord Govinda also called Lord Srinivasa the prayer diary need to be kept at some place at the time of taking prasadam.

The intent to reach new destination comes with concern bordering on availability of rooms.  The room, steep tariff included, would be welcome with the rider that the room is not infested with bed bugs. There have been occasions in the past when while staying near Kempegowda Bus Stand in Gandhi Nagar in Bengalaru city the bed bugs and their dominant nature have bothered us. A neat and tidy room in  Shubhodaya Lodge in Gandhi Nagar in 2018. As against this bed bugs infested room in Subhadra Lodge in Gandhi Nagar. Hope the bed bugs feat is not replicated in the new destination which we hope to access in the near future. A room minus TV set and refrigerator would be welcome. A room with less upheaval would be appreciated. A room in a Guest House/Hotel from where the temple can be accessed with ease would be welcome.

On SVBC Channel had the opportunity to watch Srinivasa Chaturveda Havanam. Visakha Sri Saradapeetham. Live from Vizag in Andhra Pradesh in India.

Best Wishes to Mr Djokovic. My best wishes would always be with Mr M S Dhoni and his family. He has done a lot for Indian Cricket and BCCI omitting him from Central Contract shows the BCCI is at fault. The sheer opportunism shown by BCCI and coach needs to be corrected and they should usher in a new thought process.

Hope Coronavirus spread is contained. The sooner it is contained the better it would be for humanity.
