Cricket World Cup: To be or not to be by Puneet Rajhans

Cricket World Cup: To be or not to be by Puneet Rajhans
Well some have not been following the World Cup for a while but whatever piece of information one has gives this brimming cup of bat and bowl for teams to be in for a long haul. Netherlands the other day almost gave a shock therapy to Englishmen and it was an appropriate comeback for Englishmen to forward the same to men with blue outfit and sun tan. In BIGbai waiting for a travel agent to book a seat, the last heard score was Englishmen cruising at 105 with a renewed vigour and feat. When the bus actually stopped for late night meals, the one i wasn't interested as i was down with sneeze, the bus occupants post meal returned to the bus and thundered that Cricket India had managed to escape the blunder. The Bangla with a vibrant Desh too had shown the grit and determination and this realisation dawned that Cricket India would be out for outings that would be rough and seeking extra persuasion.
The reportage of that day when by 43 overs the Englishmen had clocked 280 for 2 showers. It actually took over 36 hours to get to the break up of that cricket day's tally and it showed that Englishmen had sent theBluemen to search for honourable alibi. A defeat here and a not less convincing encounter with Irishmen would have spelt doom and a huge win against South Africa would have been required to lift the veil of gloom. But Ireland upset of Englishmen could even make quarters look a painful try.
Those glued to the TV on Cricket Day Sunday would have experienced a palpable rush of varying emotions which is very different from what one experiences during services as promotion, demotion, dejection and annihilation. Annihilation is more probable for those intruding at night hours courtesy black cash.

Had the Cricket Day encounter been on Feb 28, the reaction to the Budget Baby would have been inert and one suggesting dry day. ( By the way the FDI in Retail should never come. That if ever happens would be a demonic step. Those with fewer options
and a honest work culture can't be asked to shut their shops precisely
because those withsizeable money bags and intruding agenda can't be allowed to have a menacing adda).

Well the pre budget meet and post budget meets with India Inc. is over with most interested in giving their byte and getting a well deserved break. The budget is over, the excitement is passe , the Cricket India should fervently hope to write a new essay.Sachin, Zaheer, Yousuf, Munaf and Dhoni could hold the key but it should be a contest that most would like to see. Pre and post quarter contests may see bowling tearing apart but any batting collapse may set the stage for Cricket India WC contest tearing apart.
As the British Press has flogged Englishmen for a loss something that can
make their chances go for a toss. When Irishmen were 111 for 5, Englishmen had every chance of topping the Group B table with a shine. Never had the opportunity to watch the contest but as reports suggest Kevin O 'Brien scored the fastest World Cup century rhyme. O' Brien who had ceased to exist even before notching an innings of 50 in the past 9 WC encounters and got to a three digit score to take his side to a thumping shore. Likes of O'Brien have made the World Cup a more open contest with minnows throwing upside down the favourites chance to win the crown. Perhaps this Englishmen floundering should make Indians wary of scathing criticism if they fare poorly against Ireland Fame.

Nobody knows what's in store on a Sunday but Cricket India could be in for a rough patch on a day when half of India is on an official holiday. As for World Cup rendezvous, it is more watchable and comforting than wicked IPL bus. The IPL bus be abandoned and let WC like rendezvous be staged and won. This is the prayer from every heart of an Indian.
