Time has come to introduce Electric buses in Delhi to keep pollution at bay
As electric buses get into mainstream in a city like Bengaluru, it is time for Delhi to have its first brush with these set of electric vehicles. Proper infrastructure should be put in place like charging points so that these electric buses become a hit and commuters get rid of their personal vehicles. In the 80s itself one should have thought about electric vehicles as disdain for fuel guzzling transporting machinery began to be heard and seen. Nineties onwards the fuel guzzling tanks began to make inroads thereby disturbing peace and harmony in places as varied as courts. For the past 15 years efforts to rescue the city from pollution toll has delivered few results. There is a crying need to phase out low floor buses and get the electric buses on board as time would tell they would have seamless movement on road.
