On to Political Party High Command bandwagon In India

On to Political Party High Command bandwagon In India

India became independent in 1947. High Command was born in 1967. The High Command term was roughly coined in the '60s and since then for the next 30 to 35 years it has had innings of mixed tidings and sometimes extreme exuberance. Whom to choose and whom to discard it was all decided by Party High Command. Higher was its appeal and extensive was its reach in the Hindi heartland. Had it not been for High Command to decipher and dissect the Grand Old Party in India would have struggled to forge ahead.

High Command primarily meant the top leadership of the political party mirroring a coterie sprinkled with loyalists and not easy to bend loyalists. Whether it was to unceremoniously remove NTR in Andhra Pradesh or to have a Bhonsle in Maharashtra or superimpose a man of their choice in the North, the High Command succeeded with elan. It was the High Command which brought out the foreign hand angle primarily meant to lay at its doorstep the disturbances taking place across country. As economy began to severe its ties with inspector raj and lib (liberalisation) became the buzzword, the High Command's imprint began to shrink with a man from the South (Rao) and essentially a non family entity holding reigns of power. With coalition courting coming to play, one party rule was a thing of the past and here there was no two opinion that High Command had gone into a shell. Few years into 21st century the High Command again reared its head and began to decide whom to anoint and whom to disappoint.

As State polls to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Assemblies threw up leaders more than one, once again the High Command is in action in a seasonal ton. Party workers were given signal to burst crackers and distribute sweets once results began to show the party had after a long interval repeated its feat. These party workers are none other than unemployed youth firing cylinders on doles and higher is the unemployment the larger is the contingent to celebrate and fall for the bait. The power it accumulates the decisions that don't fluctuate shows the High Command in action and Winter of 2018 has given it another chance to gain traction. 20 plus 19  polls would throw up a fractured toll and how effective would be the High Command is something that would resonate as if it is meant to crawl.

News Channels across spectrum have throw enough hint of all-encompassing High Command of Grand Old Party ready to groove and reach a feat reminiscent of the 80s of picking a leader here and dumping a leader there. Winter of 2018 has sent mixed tidings as far as State Polls in India are concerned as none have recorded an outright victory except for trs and the cheer and chorus to anoint a leader here and there may well be relegated to background once the fractured verdict comes to town in 20 plus 19 polls.
