Incessant Rains That Lashed Delhi To Record Heatwave In Japan The Report That Came On Telly

Incessant Rains That Lashed Delhi To Record Heatwave In Japan The Report That Came On Telly

Following incessant rains I was stuck in INA subway in the city of Delhi for an hour or so with large number of  commuters passing to and fro. Incessant rains drenched a large number of people, some not timid and their movements very much supple. With nothing to do and rain droplets not leading to sighting of shrew observation was the best I could do in a city where planes even at night flew. There were middle aged men and women, there were some in their teens and beyond, there were some having visited recently Pyongyang, there were others who were dissecting issues with their smartphones and there were others carrying umbrellas having heard of US humorist Browne. The wait was endless, with thoughts on those in the city who were penniless. Though the city of Delhi provided employment to many, there were still running close to a million with no job and surroundings by no means sunny. As the rains continued there was one gentleman who found fit to get into new clothes all done in the precincts of INA Metro Station where in the '80s people had bread toast.

Visiting Public Sector Bank To Floor Test That Has No Rank

The other day visiting a public sector bank I came across an old woman whose pension had been discontinued and she begged endlessly that her pension be restored to which bank officials said life certificate has to be submitted and this effort should not have shades of botch. One wonders how many survive on pension and any intermittent delay leads pension survivors stay still and not play. Let all pension holders succeed in getting their dues, stopping their pension would give powers that be blues. We are living in a world where prices of essentials have skyrocketed and interest on fixed deposit has plummeted. Interest rate on FDs would continue to plunge as powers that be have other priorities that come in chunk. Essential commodities are out of reach of commoners and here floor test is a farce involving air travel to Gujarat, Assam and Goa confabulating in portico stoa.  When Assam was reeling under floods, confabulating in five star locale did not made these turncoats lull. Floor Test won't resolve the dilemma; it is better to dissolve the House and take relief in sauna.

Climate Change From Record Heatwave In Japan To Floods in India And Bangladesh To Sea Level Rise That Has Solid Base

Distress signals are enough with climate change unveiling issues in tonnage. As worst heatwave in Japan since 1875 and tropical depression developing in South China sea and leading to Hong Kong and Southeast Australia having coldest June night on record, these are distress signals with none of the stakeholders ready to unfurl solution plot. With India and Bangladesh witnessing recurrent floods, Assam in India in particular, the climate change is leading to trail of destruction affecting livelihood of large section. With carbon emissions showing no signs of receding are we to believe the incessant air travel and functioning of central air conditioning would lead none to babble. Sea level rise is another challenge that would lead to disruption with enough seen in places as varied as Houston. Child marriages in East Africa due to looming drought are after effects of climate change and there is an urgent need to rescue teens who are of no marriageable age.

Coming back to INA subway and metro station thoughts were on series of announcements like the first car in the moving direction is meant for women and allow passengers from train to alight first in a city where fewer and fewer individuals carry large sum in wallet and purse. Here in this city some auto men are on a short fuse, for the sake of money they can get in acts of impropriety having no intention to muse. As I came out of INA subway to take veggies and fruits from Ashoka Store, the sheets of rain had led to traffic snarl and different range of vehicles had to crawl. With Tunisia experiencing 48.7 degree centigrade and with no sheets of rain, we hope Africa gets shower in abundance letting enough individuals to mark their office attendance.

Stay In Shimla; Adivo Alladivo on Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel

Stay In Shimla; Adivo Alladivo on Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel

Having reached Shimla (Shimla Is Capital Of Himachal Pradesh State In India) I aspired to live in a place where peace and serenity was guaranteed and I may not have to face the heat. From Old Bus Stand Shimla I trudged all the way to Lower Bazar and henceforth to Fingask Estate hoping against hope the aforementioned place does not witness sessions of hate. There were frequent reminders that spitting is unhealthy, unsanitary and dangerous, littering is a punishable offence but there were many who could not read between the lines and spitting and infiltration of cussed words now and then was in their methodology and this would not have been approved by US Jazz Pianist Hines. Having checked in Hotel Sai, I walked all the way to The Mall Road to get a copy of newspaper The Tribune with weather not looking brume and with little knowledge that newspaper vendor would have heard of French Inventor Baume.

Water Rationing About To Start

Flipping through the pages of newspaper I gathered water rationing was about to start in view of scanty rainfall and I discussed threadbare this issue with Hotel Manager who was not tall. It may not have been more than six hours later rains lashed entire Shimla lasting entire night and early morning and there was no sighting of Hyla. The next morning with water shortage still there I checked in another hotel Pioneer Inn and leave for Jakhau Temple (Lord Hanuman Temple) with taxi personnel wearing a shirt washed in detergent rin. The taxi personnel takes a long route and I am in Temple before 1 pm with none of the disciples having ever shown the tendency to have brut. I am there for 10 to 15 minutes with temple priest signaling the doors would be closed and my prayer sheet is small with little post. Leave temple precincts at 1.25 and reach hotel a little after two having clues what next to do. Leave for Shimla Railway Station a little before 4 pm on foot and gather information about seat availability in Kalka Shatabdi Train bound for Delhi where some residents have round belly. Back in Hotel after 5.30 pm and take dinner from Chaman Palace whose quantity is less and the said food pricey with hotel manager having heard of a place named Kashi. I would remain ever grateful to Mr Mehtar Singh for providing cure for splitting headache and Mr Bunty for giving black tea and they may have heard of some people named in Sweden as Cleve.

Visiting Shimla Railway Station

The next morning I visited Shimla Railway Station to book Tatkal Ticket For Kalka Shatabdi Train for Delhi and the ticket itself was pricey with the woman personnel not rude to me but to other train ticket aspirants audacious and there she needed a lesson to be polite and mannerism by no means avaricious.  Here I spotted on Platform One board that went like this: Heritage Structure Shimla Railway Station Building built in 1903. Keep it neat and tidy. The Kalka Shimla Railway has been included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site. The Kalka Shimla Railway is 96 km long railway line from Kalka to Shimla and passes through 102 tunnels, 988 bridges and 917 curves. The largest tunnel near Barog is 1143 m. In Shimla Railway Station there are snack bar, multipurpose stall, refreshment room, waiting room and Mr Lekh Raj at multipurpose stall spills the beans that Himachali topi (Cap) which I purchased for Rs 450 from Lower Bazar Shimla can be had for Rs 100 as entire folks selling this cap are kindred. Here women personnel at snack bar are wearing mask and this is mandatory task. Leave station after taking food from refreshment room where the manager divulges that an army general has built a mansion near Shimla whose rent each day is Rs 25,000 and this steep rent act is itself no less than bauson.

Adivo Alladivo on Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel

Adivo Alladivo featured singers Ms Sarmishta, Ms Namrata, Mr Arun Kumar, Ms Sukhi, Ms Vaishnavi, and Mr Ganesh. Judges were Y Jyas Balasubramaniam Garu, D Y Suresh Rao Garu and Shailesh Garu. Special mention made by judge of Ms Sarmishta, Ms Sukhi and Ms Namrata.

Tamil Movie Baravaa on Sun Channel illustrated the hardships faced by commoners. One should watch this movie to understand how deep is corruption in the system and how villain P K and his henchmen are shown the door. The ill treatment of women is too shown in the movie with men from education ministry in central government using them to satisfy their lust. This movie shows how depraved men are out to loot the country. P K the villain is nipped in the bud by Actor Vijay.

Most spare a little thought on carbon emissions and this is a reality with those men adding to carbon emissions would be left with little in their kitty.

From Delhi's INA Market And Beyond To Hong Kong To Pyongyang

From Delhi's INA Market And Beyond To Hong Kong To Pyongyang

As we are on a mission to save water and power, the running of central air conditioning in some places illustrates money shower. Central air conditioning is surefire to raise carbon emissions, we are not sure when some resourceful individuals would shed air conditioning fascination. With no word on this fascination deluge we are living in a world where students taking tuitions are huge. During course of these tuitions some get ticked off despite being in their howff. These tuitions are necessary as subjects like Maths and Chemistry can upside down turn students class attendance history. In City Of Delhi we make beeline to markets of INA and beyond, these walks are a necessity in a city not much different from Hong Kong. In Hong Kong down the road we hope democracy would usher in and in the entire gamut of happenings Mainland China won't cringe. It is in interest of China that in Hong Kong some years from now democracy flutter, and that moment would keep intact its future. The news from Hong Kong for now is not much to celebrate a time would come when in thousands it would open tourist gate.

Ride To Nizamuddin Railway Station

The ride to Nizamuddin Railway Station in the heart of Delhi irked many, hope these bus rides don't steal away all the penny. The ride to Nizamuddin Railway Station began with endless wait for the bus to the designated place; there were some passengers waiting with loose lace. The bus ride was not something to write home about; we did not surrender to umpteen provocations to get in a bout.  As we reached precincts of the station we scanned the entire surroundings and decided to exit as there were enough elements to stage hysteria permit.

Wishing Well For Maharashtra State

Coming to Maharashtra churning (Maharashtra Is A State In West India) we are appalled and hope down the months it does not set in mid term elections with the likelihood that its capital would be walled. Maharashtra for one shows there are enough turncoats in a State where post monsoon deluge people cross one end to another on various boats. Maharashtra we wish it sails with enough reprimand to renegade with shoddy tales. Defectors have received enough rebuke in the past the writing on the wall is they won't have celebrations that would last.

Nothing To Divulge From Shimla Stay

As for Shimla stay there was not much to divulge as it was no luge. Water rationing had already set in Himachal Pradesh State where we were in and in this State there were some willing to throw bait. We did not fell wayside as we were alert enough with no intention to engage in kike. The haughty attitude of some with off and on verbal abuse illustrated the plains and hills in North India was seeing ruptures of sort with enough ammunition bought. Short fuse and those hooked to that are not few, hope the plains of North India yield the clue.

As we accessed markets of INA and beyond our thoughts were on Pyongyang where little information is coming through, hope it does tear the peace and give uncertain blues cruise. We are living in uncertain times with czars across world showing their operational fief, they would run out of options is the all-weather belief. Let the common man rise to the occasion and lend enough opprobrium to those who have nailed peace and they would shudder with the onset of breeze. As our thoughts are on happenings across world, Saudi Arabia And Turkey befriending each other won't keep other nations in a state of lull despite the some section of populace getting beld.

Some More Thoughts On My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans

Some More Thoughts On My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans

The year was probably 1981. My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans was in Madras (Chennai). It was HT's Branch Manager probably going by the name Mr Ramanujam who suggested to My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans that he should visit Lord Govinda's Temple in Tirumala if he was facing tough times in Delhi. My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans accepted his proposal and henceforth went to Tirumala. Having returned from Tirumala My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans came back to Delhi and we relished having famed Laddus (Prasadam).

Visiting Ajmer, Allahabad, Ahmedabad

There were three publications HT launched in the early '80s prominent being Weekend Review and Contour. Weekend Review picked up but Contour was facing all sort of issues. The staggered issues faced by Contour led to its closure. Other Publications launched much earlier like Morning Echo and Overseas Hindustan Times were doing well. But Contour circulation did not see a rise. Challenges that cropped up from time to time in his capacity as Deputy General Manager / Printer Publisher were not few and far and My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans was steadfast to negotiate them. As part of official duties he visited Ajmer, Allahabad, Ahmedabad, Kanniyakumari, Madras and other places. He even visited Bombay (Mumbai) and besides official responsibilities attended Filmfare Award Function. Ajmer for one remained in his thoughts for long. He had visited Kashmir as well to attend to office work and warm hospitality shown by Kashmir people he penned thoughts on the same. During that time Indian Airlines Flight (Indian Airlines was the solo airline functioning in India) was hijacked and My Father kept posted the neighbours whose relations were on the flight on the status of the same.

Restaurants In Delhi We Visited

I have fond memories of My Father taking us to different restaurants in and around Delhi. Restaurants we visited were Sona Rupa, Kwality, United Coffee House all in Connaught Place, restaurant in Lodhi Hotel, restaurant in Bengali Market and others and here Sobha Mausi, Sushma Mausi, Govind Mama, Pramil Mama, Anand Bhaiya, Pramila Didi would join us as and when the occasion came. In 1982 India hosted Asian Games and I made umpteen trips with My Father to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Those were the times when Congress was in power at Centre and host of states and everything looked to be smooth. Those were decent days with no politico of whatsoever hue out to hit at the base of the country.

Bonhomie With Lok Sabha Members

There are fond memories of My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans staging a historic win from Jhanjharpur Constituency In Bihar State In India and post oath took up the task of making speeches after speeches pertaining to common man. During his stint as an MP he would make it a point to visit constituency every month to address grievances of his constituency people. My Father not only helped his constituency people, he took up the cause of HT people and people of other publications working in different capacities at different point of time. My Father shared bonhomie with Lok Sabha (Lower House Of India's Parliament) Members like Mamata Banerjee, Harish Rawat, G S Dhillon and others.

My Father's Three Brothers Visited New Delhi Quite Often

My Father's three brothers Shiv Shankar Rajhans, Karuna Shankar Rajhans and Gyan Shankar Rajhans would often visit us in New Delhi and he would ensure their comfortable stay. His brothers came with their families and My Father would take them to Nehru Park, India Gate and other places. His brother Gyan Shankar Rajhans would come in winter months and they would fondly recall the times spent in Sultanganj in Bihar.

Twin Plank Of Hard Work And Giving Relief To The Needy

My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans cruised to success on the twin plank of hard work and giving relief to the needy and his goal in life was not to hurt anyone irrespective of his/her religious affiliations. My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans lived at a time when peace prevailed across country and inflation was not a behemoth refusing to surrender. My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans was an inspiration for many and his stories ignited scores of people to not lose hope in times of distress. In particular taking up the cause of migrants he plainly brought forward the challenges facing humanity. India's seasoned leader Jawaharlal Nehru was his inspiration and My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans would ask me to go through the tales of wisdom that Jawaharlal Nehru penned.

Remembering My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans

Remembering My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans

Coming from humble background My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans initiated his innings in life from Sultanganj in Bhagalpur District in Bihar State in India. Born to Jaideo Rajhans and Kiran Mai Rajhans My Father excelled in studies scoring first rank in Economics (hons) and rose to become a Distinguished Fulbright Scholar. It has been six months since he passed away and here penning a thought or two would be the best tribute to him.

A Distinguished Fulbright Scholar To Stints in Kumardhubi, Kolkata And Delhi

A man of strong determination not deterred by challenges My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans's innings as a writer/novelist and in management, media, politics and diplomacy saw him court success from time to time. Having studied in University Of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in the US in Economics  in the '60s as a Fulbright Scholar, he returned to India to work in Kumardhubi and Kolkata. In 1969 he came to Delhi to work in Sahu Jain Company and in 1971 joined Hindustan Times where he worked in different capacities as Circulation Manager, Deputy General Manager and Adviser.

Penning Tum Phir Aana, Salma And Other Novels

A novelist to the core his two novels Tum Phir Aana based on his stay in the US and Salma based on his sojourn in Jammu And Kashmir State in India were hits between 1975 and 1985. These novels can be traced in different Indian Embassies across world. His novel Booth Bahadur Ki Jai came at a time when booth capturing was rampant in Hindi Heartland. Some of other books, novels penned by my father included Biography of Congress Leader Motilal Nehru, "Abhisapt", "Aana Ek VIP Ka", Ujli Rekhein Bhi", "Videshiya", "Pretatma Bikau Hai",  "Practice Politics Ki".  Hindi Satire "Practice Politics Ki" was brought out by publishing house Jagatram And Sons.

Extempore Speeches In Parliament On Issues Facing Common Man

He spoke extempore in India's Parliament when he became an MP in December 1984 and his stint continued till December 1989. His oratory skills were recognised by political stalwarts of that time like Rajiv Gandhi, Narasimha Rao, Sitaram Kesri, Makhan Lal Fotedar, Mamta Banerjee, S N Sinha, Balram Jakhar, Madhu Dandavate, Sheila Dikshit, P Chidambaram, Ashok Chavan, Ashok Gehlot, Ghulam Nabi Azad and others. He took up issues related to common man and his umpteen trips to India's Main Medical Centre to get his constituency people treated was well recognised in political circles. Employment was a big issue then and whatever resources he had at his disposal My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans tried his best to get his constituency people Of Bihar and others in Delhi job in varied places.

As part of Parliamentary Delegation he visited Turkey, Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Stints As India's Ambassador To Laos And Cambodia

My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans was appointed as India's Ambassador to Laos in 1992 and as Ambassador to Cambodia in 1994 as part of Narasimha Rao Govt's Look East Policy. And he did his best to see India's ties with these nations were strong. And here in Indian Embassies his novels could be traced. Once back in India My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans started writing for Dainik Hindustan and later for publications including Dainik JagranRanchi ExpressPurvanchal PrehriAaj VaranasiJalte Deep JodhpurDainik Navjyoti Jaipur, Lokmat SamacharNavbharat Bhopal, Prabhat KhabarRajasthan PatrikaHaribhumi and others.

Introducing Me To Lord Govinda Temple In Tirumala In The '80s

My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans had been a voice of the voiceless and for those on the margins of society he wrote stories in different publications. He had been an all-weather guide for me and others. It was My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans who introduced me to Lord Govinda Temple In Tirumala by making his first visit in early '80s and bringing prasadam from there. And I visited Tirumala in July-August 1995 for the first time.

Andh Swami's Prediction

Going back to earlier times in Sultanganj his father Jaideo Rajhans (My Grandfather) was told by Andh Swami a religious preacher who could read the future that he would have four sons who would go by the names of Shiv Shankar Rajhans, Gouri Shanka Rajhans, Karuna Shankar Rajhans and Gyan Shankar Rajhans. And My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans shared a camaraderie with his brothers and his other relations Kalpana, Pramila and Anand.

On October 20, 1977 on Dussehra Day we moved to our own house in Safdarjung Enclave and that was the day when we had Griha Pravesh (House Entry). The house in Safdarjung Enclave was built on the back of loan taken from LIC which was duly paid in time. I have fond memories of visiting Sultanganj in 1988 and 1989 with My Father where I met my grandmother.

Some Of Other Stories Penned By My Father

Some of other stories penned by My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans in different publications at different points of time were from the arrest made by English Regime of My Grandfather Jaideo Rajhans who was a freedom fighter amidst Quit India Movement to how Arabian Horse ran out of steam when it returned from Bhagalpur to Sultanganj to Japan's bid to strengthen its military given the churning in Asia and My Father weaved these stories with panache.

My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans toiled hard all through his life with the mission to bring to light the issues of those on the margins of society. Though he is not amidst us he would continue to guide us. My Father Gouri Shankar Rajhans Was A True Gem.

MCD Citizen Portal For Filing Property Tax Return Not Working This Year

MCD Citizen Portal For Filing Property Tax Return Not Working This Year

We are unable to file property tax return. The MCD Citizen Portal is facing errors of sorts. All data related to property tax filed in the past is not there. The MCD Citizen Portal does not recognise UPIC either that was generated last year after filing property tax. There is no data available of past years of property tax return filed. Even the mobile number registered does not show any data. Even attempt to get new UPIC does not show any success as different colonies names are not there in select colony section.

When would MCD Citizen Portal start functioning one does not know.

The Ride From Solan To Shimla; Issues Facing Humanity From Rwanda Plane That Did Not Take Off To High Gasoline Prices

The Ride From Solan To Shimla; Issues Facing Humanity From Rwanda Plane That Did Not Take Off To High Gasoline Prices

As the endless wait continued for Shimla bus there was not much to do at Solan's New Bus Stand which was much different from bus stand in Poland. The one which I spotted and boarded I realised that it was in a dilapidated state and during course of journey passengers would surely berate. I deboarded the bus in nick of time and few minutes later I boarded Mehta Coach bus which looked to be fine.

The bus starts at 12.18 pm and reach Kather at 12.22 where some other passengers board who are not few and have the clue. At 12.42 Shimla is 42 km and Shoghi 33 km. From 12.45 onwards we are amidst surroundings where flyover is under construction and metalled road being laid by those who wage day to day battle away from cage. Here thoughts are on Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) as well as on Mr Biden and hill station in Tamil Nadu Udhagamandalam where efforts to keep pollution free is more than centum. At 1 pm reach Kandaghat where occasionally people blurt. At 1.15 there is Board of Jaypee University Of Information Technology, Board of L R Group of Institutes and Board of Chitkara University. From 1.20 onwards there is no road construction activity spotted with road travel challenges possibly thwarted.

Long Lasting Solution To Traffic Snarl

At 1.20 we reach Shoghi Check Post and at 1.32 Snowhill Online Examination Centre where some engage in banter. At 1.32 Shimla is 14 km and at 1.34 we are in Main Bazar Shoghi which has round the year weather surety. At 1.40 Shimla is 10 and Narkanda 71 where day to night offenders are not on the run. At 1.43 we spot Board of Himachal Law University where exams are not conducted in brevity. From 1.45 onwards we are stuck in traffic snarl which refuses to recede and holds the probability of a brawl. It is way past 2.30 the traffic gets cleared given the fact that the number of private vehicles entering Shimla is huge no matter how fearsome is the deluge. The long lasting solution is a levy of Rs 1500 per passengers per vehicle of non Himachal Pradesh STATES (if there are five persons in a vehicle the levy would be Rs 7500) and this task may not be arduous and entire exercise carried out by gentlemen who are courteous. A database of vehicles belonging to Himachal Pradesh (Himachal Pradesh Is A State In India) is drawn and these vehicles have a special logo pasted on the windscreen and there should be no room for irregularities even if vehicle owner has gone past seventies. If we have to save Himachal Pradesh there has to be segregation of Himachal vehicle and non Himachal vehicle and henceforth levy imposed and from Shimla border itself fewer and fewer private vehicles be allowed and there should be plying of electric buses alone that would take them to new bus stand / old bus stand no matter how voluble is their rant. SAVE SHIMLA SAVE HIMACHAL is the war cry as this state is in desperate need of an eco-friendly solution that one could try.

At 2.30 Shimla is 4 km and at 2.40 we reach Shimla New Bus Stand. Board electric bus and reach old bus stand at 3 pm. This Solan-Shimla Ride would be remembered for the innumerable twists and turns that road journey came with traffic blues giving little clues. A cluttered Shimla doesn't look good; there should be a limit on number of days tourists stay to let Shimla retain its hood.

SRI PADMAVATI AMMAVAN TEPPOTSAVALU ON SVBC WAS GOOD. GARUDA VAHANAM WAS EQUALLY GOOD.

UK Should Honour Northern Ireland Protocol; UK Should Stop Deporting Migrants to Rwanda

It is important that UK honour Northern Ireland Protocol. Protocol aimed at avoiding hard border and here UK wants to put checks on goods entering Northern Ireland. EU is opposed to UK to make changes to Post BREXIT Northern Ireland Deal and here EU's stance is correct.

UK SHOULD STOP SENDING MIGRANTS TO RWANDA AND IT SHOULD DO SOME SOUL SEARCHING AS DEPORTING THEM BY PLANE SMACKS OF ARROGANCE.

According to a UN report Myanmar's Junta is hellbent on torturing children. This torture is having an impact on economic, social and cultural rights of children. Humanitarian aid is being denied to children and over 7.8 million children are out of school. There is a need for course correction. If close to 8 million children are out of school it mirrors the intent of Junta and its nasty designs.

Release Of Ecuador Indigenous People's Movement Leader Mr Leonidas Iza

The release of Ecuador Indigenous People's Movement Leader Mr Leonidas Iza who was protesting against high fuel, food and fertiliser prices was the solo option that Ecuador Regime was left with. Important to note less than three years ago the Indigenous Group forced govt to reduce the prices of essentials and the regime of that time cave in to their justified demands. We hail Ecuador's Indigenous Group.

Record Floods Hit Yellowstone National Park

Record floods hit Yellowstone National Park in the US and the territory received two months of rain in three days. And there is lesson to be learnt for Shimla and other places as climate change is a challenge that won't recede if corrective measures are not taken.

To Get Going This Summer

To Get Going This Summer

Summer is at its peak with temperature going beyond 40 to 45 degree centigrade and here scorching heat has an aura of invincibility and for some it is no less than a treat. To stay afloat one has to put into motion host of measures with no fissures. Stepping out in this scorching summer for some it drains out their energy and there is less likelihood of continuation of synergy. To partake benefits of warm weather stepping out may be mandatory as it gives enough vitamin d fill and this is something to thrill. Summer sets in action multitude of men, women and children to hit on a hill station trail and this sees large quantum of outflow of cash for the very urgency shown in hill station benefits and opportunities to avail. Summer sees less number of individual seething with anger and if it is not that the case they may be on a short fuse after meeting persons named Doughty Langer.

To keep scorching heat at bay it is all the more necessary to wrap yourself well and stepping out of home is a tale to tell. Once having stepped out and stayed outside for long the return journey to home is not an aberration with listening to songs of Beyonce.  Once at home drinking plenty of water and energy drinks like buttermilk, lassi and shake as in the big city of Delhi there is no sighting of lake. The onset of summer augurs well for the majority as it increases resistance with no brevity.

Hitting on a hill station trail for some may not suffice their needs; stay put in Delhi as unwanted elements haven't so far laid a siege. The onset of summer carnival makes more prone to the idea of having lumpsum curd and this testimony in the corridors of power heard. As mayhem of sorts is being witnessed in the country we hope the vindictive agenda would lie flat and run out of battery. This vindictive agenda is bound to collapse as people so far haven't displayed their ability to pole vault.

Solan or Shimla (Solan and Shimla are in Himachal Pradesh State in India) may not give you reprieve, stay put in Delhi as it is none's fief.  In summer you are at your best as it augurs endurance test. The heat wave conditions may set a stage of lull and there are enough occasions when you rise from this stage to ring the door bell.

INDONESIA'S ECO-FRIENDLY MOSQUES

The story on Indonesia's eco-friendly mosques was good. With innovation water usage has dropped by 30 per cent and electricity bill more than half. Hope Mosques across world replicate this success story.

The story on Thailand's Mekong Market signalling the surge in tourism in Thailand. In 2019 there were 40 million visitors and this year the govt hopes there are 15 million visitors.

The story on Italian group training children for circus performance in besieged Gaza Strip showed the need to bolster sport. As one accessed reports of thousand of refugees moving from Southern Mexico to US hope they get over their trials and tribulations.

NFL (National Football League) to talent search in Africa is one way to bring Africa in the mainstream.

Carbon emissions is a big challenge to be dealt with and here EU nations are toying with the idea that from 10 years from now there won't be plying of petrol/diesel vehicles in their countries and bringing emissions to pre 1990 level. As for India '80s and '90s were the best decades when majority of proceedings had a tinge of innocence.

Remembering My Grandfather Jaideo Rajhans And Future Read By Andh Swami

Remembering My Grandfather Jaideo Rajhans And Future Read By Andh Swami

My Grandfather Jaideo Rajhans was a valiant freedom fighter. He rose from the ranks and put up a stiff fight against British regime. Against all odds he was able to raise a dwelling ( home ) in Sultanganj and one can look at his life through the prism of a freedom fighter to a social reformer who brought a radical change in surroundings in and around him. It has been 46 years since he passed away and his teachings have brought a range of benefits to a large section of population.

My Grandfather inculcated in his children the habit of working hard to realise their dreams. Apart from his family responsibilities he was instrumental in setting up schools and colleges in Sultanganj in Bhagalpur District in Bihar State in India. And in these schools and colleges where numerous students enrolled they henceforth spun a career that was straight forward and uplifting.

Andh Swami a religious preacher who could read the future told my grandfather that he would have four sons. And these four sons would go by the names of Shiv Shankar Rajhans, Gouri Shankar Rajhans, Karuna Shankar Rajhans and Gyan Shankar Rajhans. A man of limited means witnessing off and on uncertain times in business did not deter my grandfather to wage a full-fledged battle against English Rule. My grandfather along with my grandmother Kiran Mai Rajhans raised four sons with whatever resources they had at their disposal. The four sons were strictly told to stick to an itinerary where they would get up early in the morning 4 am to be precise and go for tuition to Upendra Master who had the knack to turn them into gems and these four sons went on to excel in varied fields in their career. Something made possible by my grandfather's insistence that four sons learnt the rope of living a life of realising dreams by reciting biographies of learned individuals of that time Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi and others.

My Grandfather motivated those who came in contact with him and both in pre independent India and post independent India he remained tied to his goal of leading upright life no matter from which quarter challenges came from. The services rendered by him are still recalled by generations after generations and educated class that emerged from Sultanganj was all because of him and have praised his tiresome efforts in the past. Well we are living at a time when carbon emissions is very much an issue and had this cropped up during his time he would have brought to the table long lasting solutions.

A man of true values and one with vision my grandfather courted success and challenges as and when they came and his children inherited this strength from him and these tales are still recalled by different family members at different point of time. My grandfather was a true patriot and there are still some in Sultanganj to recall his contribution to nation during freedom struggle and thereafter.

Leaving From Kalka For Solan In Himachal Pradesh State In India

Leaving From Kalka For Solan In Himachal Pradesh State In India

Having visited Kali Mata Mandir (GODDESS Kali Temple) in Kalka it was time to leave for Solan in Himachal Pradesh State in India a country which is thousand and thousand miles away from Croatia. Board bus from Kalka bus stand at 7.45 having some among its passengers carrying buckets of tomatoes knowing fully well China the giant is the largest producer of potatoes. The private bus starts at 8.05 am, going past Kali Mata Mandir and at 8.16 Solan is 42 km away in a STATE where few are issued traffic challan and thereby have to pay. Go past Himachal's Tourism Cafe Shivalik with roads having enough twists and turns and rash driving seeing no offenders on the run.

We Are On NATIONAL HIGHWAY 5; Water Supply Dwindle In And Around Barog

We Are on NATIONAL HIGHWAY 5 and soon came Cosmos Ferrites Factory where workers are hired and thrive. At 8.45 Shimla is 64 km and Solan 26 km and at 8.46 we are in Rajri bus stop and at 8.53 reach Sanwara with some having heard of Italian Painter Tura. At 8.59 we reach Prachin Shiv Mandir  (Lord Shiva Temple) Kasauli Chowk. At 9 am reach Dharampur resonating with incoming and outgoing buses which are no less and here vendors with different stuff galore a reminder of India having sections where employment is for sure. The bus from Dharampur starts at 9.07 and at 9.12 spot Welcome To Dagshai Cantonment and essentially we are going through a territory named Barog with no sighting of any personnel who could be termed rogue. At 9.25 Solan is 6 km and at 9.26 Shimla 53 km and Solan 5 km and seeing at different spots commuter. A point not to be missed right through Barog territory there are boards in Hindi Language Paani Ke Liye Sampark Karein ( For water contact us) underscoring that these areas see water supplies that dwindle and we hope the residents are able to get over this water riddle. Water is a scarce resource and every attempt should be made to conserve thereby ensuring quantum reserve.

Reaching Solan

Reach Solan a little after Nine Forty (9.40) with the surroundings suggesting to stay in the flow one has to be doughty. Scanning the area it seems one would have to trudge a while before zeroing in on the food outlet with none of the dishes to be served using attelet. Take vegetarian biryani with curd that goes by the name SUPER CURD and here the serving gentleman is Mr Sandeep Kothari of Dhaba Dilli Food Hub and here who have visited this premises have heard of mathematical term lub.

Post grub I try to look for a cyber cafe with owner refusing to use his desktop and this cafe is 100 metres from food hub next to auto stand. The stay in Solan was for an hour or two with thoughts on provocation and repeated provocation that we face from outside residence in Delhi through and through. Due to intervention by khaki men on first floor we are unable to do stories from laptop as khaki men have made it unfunctional and these khaki men instigate others to create ruckus outside home time and again and they wear no rumal.

Stores In Solan Galore

Coming back to Solan with nothing else to do I made mental note of stores that galore and young women who seem to be at their best and good wishes FROM LORD GOVINDA OF TIRUMALA would see them through different enduring tests. I wished well for residents of Solan and began in the right earnest the search for new bus stand where some visitors come carrying South African Currency Rand.

Hail an auto and reach bus stand and wait for a bus that would take me to Shimla which is witnessing some level of stress due to inbound tourists  running into thousands and refusing to leave as if Shimla the Capital of Himachal Pradesh State in India is their fief. SHIMLA can't be held ransom by some unwanted elements, let it get spring in its steps and give big no to SUVs and SEDANS that hit the tranquil surroundings and make Shimla whisper in discontent and not dance. We hail Shimla for the millions who take refuge with all their senses; we have disdain for those who taint it with uncouth conduct and there are no penalty for their misconduct. The bus ride from Solan to Shimla was not free from hiccups like traffic jam and trail of high calibre vehicles who did not care two hoots about traffic rules and this cleared the path for traffic blues.

TAKING A PLEDGE ON ENVIRONMENT DAY (JUNE 5)

TAKING A PLEDGE ON ENVIRONMENT DAY (JUNE 5)

There are enough twists and turns in day to day grind we go through staging protest of sorts against career blues. The day's itinerary we work on, the mode of transport we employ, the work we accomplish all have a bearing on environment.  It is up to us to see the environment we bank on is near perfect with no oscillation whatsoever with every attempt made to preserve the much cherished river.

On This Environment Day we should take a solemn pledge that we would walk at least a mile a day to remain active in the fray. We should take a pledge that we would limit carbon emissions and all electrical appliances would be run for limited duration. We should take a pledge that right from air conditioners to computers the usage would be bare minimum with an eye on to set right the malfunctioning EVM (Electronic Voting Machine).

Desecration To Be Nipped In The Bud

We should take a pledge that verbal abuse rampant across North India plains and hills would be nipped in the bud and there won't be sighting of wrongdoing glut. North India has suffered a lot at the hands of rowdies and there is an urgency to bring in good sentiments and goodies. We should take a pledge that desecration experienced by us in a Delhi Metro Coach while going towards Chhattarpur ( Chhattarpur is a place in New Delhi) we won't get offended by that and this debasement conduct is nowhere to be seen in region named Balt ( Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania ). High order politicos are responsible for that and with this blasphemy they have no long innings to bat. We should take a pledge that tourneys like IPL we would skip as it is largely a waste of time, money, energy and effort and this tourney has enough blip. Here in India more than 70 per cent of population goes without food every night and to ameliorate their condition should be every citizen right.

Air Travel Bare Minimum

We should take a pledge that air travel we would keep it to 2 to 3 times a year and most tasks accomplished through video conferencing and phone answering with no attending fear. We should take a pledge that as and when we visit hill stations right from Shimla to Udhagamandalam (Shimla and Udhagamandalam are hill stations in India) we would plant a tree to swim with the tide that is environment glee. We should take a pledge that there won't be meek surrender to tall concrete structures and what bare minimum we have we remain content with no ruptures. We should take a pledge that we would visit markets on alternate days on foot and the groceries we take would make us retain the hood. We should take a pledge that all high rises in cities and towns are flanked by green cover and there should be least thunderstorm rumour and these aforementioned places are not visited by those having vehicles like Hummer. We should take a pledge we would visit offices if and when required and keep this to bare minimum and achieve targets by sitting at home with electrical appliances functional in bare minimum zone. We should take a pledge we would get going with the task of saving water at every passing hour and for every petrol/diesel vehicle there would be usage bar. We should take a pledge that on cleanliness we should set a new benchmark and idiosyncrasies of others don't irk.
We should take a pledge that to sail in this world freed from all blemishes we would out and out sustain all visible green aces.

Environment is what we are here to preserve given over eight billion people resolve and reserve. On Al Jazeera News Channel in weather update section there was a report on water scarcity in MAHARASHTRA STATE IN INDIA.

The Ride To Kasauli And Back

The Ride To Kasauli And Back

Having reached Kalka a little before 11.40 it was time to leave for Kasauli post grub the aforementioned place being Lord Hanuman's hub. There should be regular buses from Kalka Railway Station to Kasauli bus stand as there are enough visitors with some carrying the South African Currency Rand. Regular buses from Kalka Railway Station to Kasauli would do a world of good as the information desk at Kalka Railway Station is non functional and even if it is functional the personnel should not be rude. Let Information Desk At Kalka Railway Station get going as tourists tend to visit Kasauli and beyond and this desk is for eon.

Leaving For Kasauli

Leave for Kasauli at 12.15 with Checkpost Parwanoo coming at 12.21 and the weather being in a state of fun. At 12.34 sight Timber Trail and a little later spot I Love Himachal raised on ground and in summer months see tourists bound. With enough twists and turns I reach Kasauli at 1.40 with the Checkpost person taking Rs 130 as entry fee and divulging Mankipoint (Lord Hanuman Temple) is closed and I entirely disagree despite I being the host. I take second opinion and another gentleman opines that Mankipoint is very much open and his testimony is no less depone. The road from Kasauli bus stand to Air Force Station is in a dilapidated state, the previous foray to the said place was on foot with none to berate. The previous time in June 2014 the road was in a better shape no matter one could not spot for miles together marine fish hake. There is a need to restore this road no matter what may be urgency around.

Reaching Air Force Station Kasauli

Reach Air Force Station at 2 pm. After issue of entry card and post frisking I begin to ascend. In a matter of 15 minutes I reach the temple and spend some time there. Priest Mr Subhash is helpful and there are few inside the premises and there are none surprises. Give picture of Lord Venkateswara (The Presiding Deity Of Tirumala) and the priest suggests that Lord Hanuman residing here could be found in Google and that search itself would be rare. The descend begins at 3.07 pm. Start From Air Force Station at 3.30.  In the Taxi I suggest that I would like to sit at the back but driver Vishal insists that he won't have anything like this and I would have to sit in the front. Right during this course of the journey from Kalka station to Kasauli and from Kasauli to Kalka he has been scratching his private parts every other minute and this discomfort I have to live with for the entire course of this journey despite the fact I am not in Forney. At 3.54 Dharampur is 3 km away, and at 4 pm I reach Dharampur and I am in Sanhara at 4.12. Dharampur is known for marvel of excellence and here residents residing in and around are not tense. Reach Kalka roundabout at 5pm with driver insisting I stay in Hotel Lotus with the room in a dilapidated state and on second floor. I refuse to stay and begin the search on my own. I zero in on Rose Guest House with none staying in the vicinity with their spouse. Hotel attendants Mr Rishabh and Raju are helpful and from here Kalka looks to be cool.

The next morning Tea Vendor Mr Madan Lal prepares tea after 5.20 and he has a sizeable inventory. I would remain ever grateful to Mr Madan Lal for doing the needful and he is a citizen who is dutiful. In a space of two days spent in Kalka I visit Prachin Shri Kali Mata Mandir Kalka Sri Mata Mansa Devi Poojasthal Board Panchkula on occasions more than one and there is no sighting of any individual who is plump. On Sunday board bus for Solan at 7.45 am with the hope that malfunctioning is set right in EVM (Electronic Voting Machine).

This politico is a criminal whose arrival is not perennial. Having ruined the nation with enough sensation his law and order machinery shows up in poor light as this criminal politico's chances are blight. His farewell has to begin in the right earnest as he is a roaming guest. His law and order machinery is a ringing testament that he is out and out nut.
