Conversation With Gyan Shankar Rajhans Uncle
Conversations with Gyan Shankar Rajhans Uncle have brought positive vibes and he is the one who has stood by all those who have Payasam (Payasam Is A South Indian Dish) thrice. Having deboarded Air India Flight Number 188 coming from Toronto the plane was inordinately delayed reaching Delhi court well after 4.45 PM and here in this city some get up as early as 3 AM. A group of 20 travelers from Vancouver was on its way to Toronto Airport and they coming behind schedule and that partly explained the delay and that was the rule. Gyan Uncle disclosed there were three layers of frisking before one was supposed to board the flight to India where in the capital city Delhi pollution is no trivia.
Gyan Uncle Coming To India From 1967-68 Onwards
Gyan uncle has been coming to India from 1967-68 onwards and his arrival has brought cheers to entire family and this was no less than yearly rewards. Younger to my father Gouri Shankar Rajhans he has sailed varied sections of world trying to understand the sentiments when and which place one can get bold and where all one can reveal secrets of emblements. While during stay in Delhi which was even less than 48 hours he divulged the business class travel advantage miles away from economy cage. In economy class one gets almost trapped and sitting for as long as 14 hours 20 minutes more can declare from rooftop that they are jetlagged. Gyan Uncle too was jetlagged but knew the way out and choosing the day when he would bat. The discourse in Delhi was all about pollution and prevarication and here it would be more apt to stay indoors and run through newspapers that come to the fore.
Ardent Devotee Of Lord Ganesh
An ardent devotee of Lord Ganesh the spiritual flavour that he throws up in the air is too strong to resist and his religious leanings he imbibed when he was in the East. Having taken shelter in the West way back in 1966 or perhaps earlier than that he has five technical books and 67 papers to his credit and they occasionally get discussed in quarters where people at random remit. He is youngest among four brothers and the eldest and youngest in theatres of excellence and herein the chemistry the two share is permanent. This time he is on his way to Deogarh (Deogarh Is A Pilgrimage Point In Jharkhand State In East India) where he and Nilu Aunty would stay for exactly four months and raise awareness on issues in ton. While on a call to Dr Shiv Shankar Uncle who is a physician in Sultanganj (Sultanganj Is A Town In Bihar State In East India) the two reminisced about the days they spent during childhood. During my tete-a-tete with him he revealed how four brothers Shiv Shankar Rajhans, Gouri Shankar Rajhans, Karuna Shankar Rajhans, Gyan Shankar Rajhans would get up early in the morning to recite Freedom Fighters biography as desired by grandfather Jaideo Rajhans. All of 81, Gyan Uncle makes pilgrimage to Deogarh yearly and he can recall with ease Hindu scriptures that essay the essence of life and what one should do to thrive.
My Father Would Eagerly Look Forward To His India Visit When He Was Alive
When my father was alive he would eagerly wait for his visit and the two would take a trip down memory lane and both having in their respective fields earned fame. How grandfather Jaideo Rajhans left no stone unturned to raise schools and colleges for students and took no credit for the same. Gyan Uncle disclosed when my father was pursuing higher studies on the back of Fulbright Scholarship in North Carolina Chapel Hill he asked him to come to North America to pursue higher studies.
Discussing About Tirumala Pilgrimage
His stay in Delhi was short and we both recalled the days when we moved to Safdarjung Enclave Home. When my father won Parliament Elections from Bihar Gyan Uncle was the first one to call him in the month of '84 December. When my father became Ambassador he looked at it as a big achievement in the family and hoped it would continue to go on like this. Gyan Uncle and Nilu Aunty have left for Bihar where his nephew Mr Anand Rajhans would be hosting them and from there they would be travelling to Deogarh. During his stay in Delhi he chanted Lord Ganesh Stotra (Hymns In Praise Of Lord Ganesh). He was eager to know about pilgrimage that one has to make to Tirumala as he and Aunty have been there more than 15 years ago. I told him about Sarva Darshan Token Advantage and how one can gain access to Lord Venkateshwara Temple in Tirumala the same day. He has three sons Aashish Rajhans, Amit Rajhans and Mohit Rajhans. His eldest son Aashish Rajhans gave him a picture of my father when he was young. That was something to treasure. Mohit makes an appearance in three national television of Canada for five minutes almost each day. It has been a while since Aashish, Amit and Mohit have been to India and I look forward to their visit.
Gyan Uncle has asked me to visit Deogarh this time. Whether I would be able to make that pilgrimage it all rests with the Lord. His reading of Hindu scriptures has won him good number of followers and this following would continue to grow.
