Former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Was A Tall Political Figure With No Blemishes; Never To Get Swayed By Occasional Humdrum Purr In Indian Political Circles

Flipping through pages of Kadambini  (Hindi Publication)'s January 2016 Edition the stories on former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri were revelation of sorts. Born on October 2, 1904 he lived till January 10, 1966. His early education was in Mughalsarai and later in Kashi, both places in Uttar Pradesh. The Non-cooperation Movement launched in India in 1920 against British Rule he took active part in 1921 and was arrested. In 1929 he became Secretary of Allahabad District Congress Committee. (Congress Is The Oldest Political Party In India). On December 19, 1930 he participated in Salt March and was arrested. In 1936 he became President of Allahabad District Congress Committee. He participated in 1942 in Quit India Movement. India became Independent in 1947.  In 1948 he became Home Minister in Uttar Pradesh. 

Lal Bahadur Shastri's Innings At Centre

His innings at Centre began from 1952 when from 1952 to 1963 he held different portfolios including Railways, Transport, Communications, Commerce, Industry and Home. In 1956 he quit as Railway Minister following a rail accident. In 1957 he was reappointed as Minister. Under K Kamraj Plan (K Kamraj was a veteran Congress Leader hailing from South India (Madras) enjoying the confidence of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru) all senior ministers were told to quit Cabinet and dedicate themselves to strengthening the Congress Party and as a result he too quit the Cabinet.  All through these varied innings he was seen as a man of simple means and simple deed. Following the departure of Jawaharlal Nehru it was the task of K Kamraj to choose Nehru's successor. None other than Lal Bahadur Shastri was the choice as he was a revered figure and a leader with no blemishes. A leader who rose from the ranks, a leader on whom unanimity was reached with seal of approval from Congress Working Committee (CWC) and later Congress Parliamentary Board. His appointment as Prime Minister in June 1964 was blessings in many ways. The way he handled '65 war with Pakistan and India coming triumph was a script of success. During his reign India went through grain crisis and his solemn call in 1965 to Indians to skip meals one time every Monday helped to raise buffer stock of grain and this was a long lasting solution.

 Clarion Call Of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan

A leader who gave the clarion call of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan underscoring in letter and spirit the valiant role of soldiers at borders and valiant role of farmers in feeding the entire nation. His capacity to hold different portfolios at Centre came handy when he distinguished himself as a leader with foresight and following when he carried the duties of Prime Minister. The peace pact reached in Tashkent on January 10, 1966 was a major breakthrough but his innings in politics were cut short by his passing away soon after that. DD Podhigai Channel had Thullaadha Manamum Thullum, DD Odia Channel had Folk Music and Ama Rosei and ETV Telangana Channel in Teertha Yatra mention about Sai Alayam In Nalgonda District in Telangana State (Telangana Is A State In South India) which is making rapid strides under leadership of KCR and the state known for tourist sites. Mazhavil Manorama Channel had Meenakshi Kalyanam, Sun Channel in its news bulletin covering views of AIADMK leaders OPS and EPS on Tamil Nadu Budget which has been presented and receiving applause from Chief Minister M K Stalin and some in the administrative wing heard of French Statesman And Economist Turgot. The Gudur bastion is to be hailed with residents occasionally doling out steady tales. Gudur we would like to explore some day, scanning the surroundings would be a play. Gudur has innate qualities much due to its positioning in Andhra Pradesh ever shining for its varied activities.

Train Timings Have Changed Starting From New Delhi At 4.10 PM 

The train timings have changed with its onward journey to Chennai starting from New Delhi not at 6.30 pm much earlier at 4.10 pm and reaching Chennai where maintaining law and order should be no fear with enough beating of drum. It was way back on December 29, 2001 we boarded GT Express with excitement of going to Tirumala we were not able to suppress. As Confectioner would board Vikramshila Express Train from Bhagalpur (Bhagalpur Is A District In Bihar State In India) the train staff would be elated to have amidst them a food caterer who has been to Southern Iraqi City Of Ur. The ride to Delhi he would recall all moments of taking colleen in a ferry and he getting support for all activities that has to be accomplished in a hurry. Once in Anand Vihar from where he has to reach home he would hire a taxi with a lassie at the wheels and he being ever grateful for this moment and ready to pay any bill. Once in his home he would lock himself in a room and think of the moments spent with lassie when he crooned. This Confectioner has made rapid strides with his budget never tight. He has explored territories not easily accessible to mankind and made forays that can see any Frau's prospects bright.

ETV Telengana and ETV Andhra Pradesh had a report on a gentleman in blue attire addressing a large gathering. If the channels could have sub titles in English it would be better.

As we watched Tirumala Varshik Teppotsavam which started on March 13 and the final lap is on March 17, we are fond of SVBC (Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel) and the aforementioned channel's sheen. Conversations with SVBC Chairman Sai Krishna Garu and Suresh Garu were watched as well.

Congress Working Committee Meet 

As Congress Working Committee Meet (CWC) (Congress Is The Oldest Political Party In India) got over some of the members began to leave the premises to head towards homes in Land Rover. They were too tired to speak to media. Later some gentlemen addressed press meet and what was noticeable was some press persons who had began to weep. Watching Tamil Movie Marudhu it essayed the tale of a common man Marudhu who falls for a woman and his enduring chase bears desired fruit.
