Amarnath Jha Mausa (Uncle) Whom We Knew

Amarnath Jha Mausa (Uncle) Whom We Knew

Having born in early '40s Amarnath Mausa (Uncle) toiled hard entire life spanning eight decades with a word of wisdom for those who were on the margins of society. Married in Mishra Household of Balua Bazar in Bihar State in India  he rose from the ranks and his skills in public sector undertakings were well and truly recognised. He held different responsibilities and attended to his duties with due diligence.

We have fond memories of visiting his household in the vicinity of Kali Bari in Safdarjung Enclave in New Delhi in the '70s  He later stayed with his family in Munirka as well which too was in the heart of Delhi. We can still recall the house inauguration ceremony in Kalkaji in the early '80s where we were invited. The ceremony took place in the evening with those in attendance coming from far and wide. Almost till the last breath of life he stayed in his Kalkaji flat having won admirers in the area who praised his simplicity.  In the course of his career he stayed put in places as varied as close to Badrinarayan, Shimla, Allahabad, Iraq, Kuwait and Delhi. He shared a camaraderie with my father Gouri Shankar Rajhans and they recalled the days spent right through the '60s to '90s and beyond.

He was fond of visiting his village in Bihar probably going by the name Muret where he had ancestral house with the surroundings neat and tidy to say the least. He would often visit his daughter Neetu in Vadodra in Gujarat State in India with his two sons Bunty and Babloo staying in Greater Noida and Delhi. A man of clarity and candor his upright values helped him to stay steadfast in the face of challenges and his beliefs were rooted to the ground. Monotony should not set in led him to take assignments post retirement and he remained active all through his life. He would be remembered for the selfless service rendered and life of optimism that was well and truly raised.
