Lodges i stayed: From incommunicative to communicative

Lodges i stayed

Why lodges across country get thrilled to have tourists/customers who can dole out a sum. As far as the experience with lodges across country is concerned, the first query is how many members the entourage comprise of. Seeing the lone figure standing and wilting under pressure, the lodgewallah sees to it that the customer can be fleeced to the maximum. This year itself i have stayed on 54 different occasions in 40 different lodges. And lodgewallahs of different repute i have come across.

If the customer is careful enough to waste no water, power or run tvs, geyser, it makes no difference to a lodge owner as long as moolah is changing hands. THe lodge i stayed for the second time in Kolkata was not bad. Inspiring was the conduct of the manager. Some cheerful character could be sighted when i used to hand over the tariff in advance. For the rest of the period he was at his incommunicative best and if by chance the rent promised to be paid by morning got postponed till evening, the reminders were not few. Incommunicative ideology he banked on and all communication barriers were lifted the day he came to know i was leaving.

To be frank he never misbehaved but one could make out his discomfort when i was told to change the room neither extra blanket was given nor towel. Made earnest request to his personnel and they handed out a thick bed sheet with frontal ruptures. THe security personnel were very cooperative but other personnel less cooperative. At the time of leaving he made a suggestion that i should try his lodge again as geyser, tv and attached bath came at a reasonable sum. I could not disagree because half of the time i had spent in Kolkata in search of lodges and they were asking for huge sums. THe lodge stay was comfortable to the point that no major commotion happenned and people all around were accommodating in their outlook.

Still the lodge-search is a herculean task and if by chance the budget is limited the options are few and there are no clues.
