It is a season of retreat and quitting and the politico who quit couldn't exercise his writ

With one politico in India quitting politics it is a season of retreat and undeniably facing eviction heat. How long the politicos would go to acquire goals and set agenda when the world over the old generation has given way to new generation in countries as varied as Canada. In North America Mr Joe Biden is new and is as energetic as young generation and has the clue. India is an exception and continues to be so given the remorseful nature of politics and the depth to which it can hit low. Session of Parliament is standing still given the logjam over Pegasus phone hacking scandal and repeated attempt to bury the debate and the grill.

With the politico from the State of West Bengal who decided to bid adieu to politics, it was one decision not taken in haste and would this open up floodgates for other politicos to follow suit given their waist and sticking to chair which is not haze. One can only think of Lal Bahadur Shastri who was the first and one among few who quit Ministry over train accident and this is well recorded in history. Giving in to public pressure to quit is the norm but how many bite the dust and rise again is difficult to unravel in a city where every second politico takes to travel. Bills are being passed in Parliament in haste minus debate and this is something to berate.

Tokyo Olympics would wind up in another six days and this was one event that took place in the shadow of pandemic when the world is fighting this virus with enough to crib. You can salute the organisers  for holding the Games minus discomfort and Track and Field Events are something one should always revert.
