Walking To Metro Station And Visiting Different Places In New Delhi In India

Walking To Metro Station And Visiting Different Places In New Delhi In India

With an intent to get going in the busy and reverberating city of  Delhi I step out as and when the opportunity comes. On a Tuesday leave home at 7.48 am. On the way come across fruit vendor Mr Manoj and his looks convey the fact that he is ready for the day to day grind of a BIG CITY. As I move further spot buses with numbers 611, 623, 567,711 and 794 all headed to different destinations of a city where petrol and diesel are not dirt cheap. As I enter the surroundings of West Kidwai Nagar directions are sought by a gentleman Mr Surendar for Safdarjung Enclave B 4 block. Go past PWD (Public Works Department) work in progress board. Go past Facilitation Desk Dilli Haat. Go past Project Office - INA National Capital Region Transport Corporation. A joint venture between Govt of India and participating State Govts. Meet automan Mr Pawan. Reach INA Metro Station at 8.12. Token dispensed by Mr Sandeep Panno who expresses inability to give change. Frisking by Mr Rajat Kumar Singh. Metro starts at 8.20. Meet photographer Mr Ayush  going for a photo shoot in GTB (Guru Tegh Bahadur) Nagar in the heart of Delhi. His office is in Faridabad which is in Haryana State In India. Reach Rajiv Chowk at 8.33. Come across khaki man Mr Ramesh Kumar while ascending stairs. While waiting for another metro a board at the station conveys there are more than 750 lifts across DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) Network. Meet Mr Rabindranath Behra seeking direction to Noida. Reach Jhandewalan Metro Station at 8.42. Reach Lord Hanuman Temple in Ramakrishna Marg at 8.45. As it is a Tuesday there is rush inside. Leave the temple premises at 8.50. Start walking towards Karol Bagh. Mind you Karol Bagh is a top notch market in the heart of Delhi. Go past Shankar IAS Academy. Reach Saravana Bhavan ( Pure Veg South Indian Family Restaurant) at 9.09. I ask gentleman Mr Sonu to give black tea with no ginger and masala and he follows instructions accordingly. In the restaurant meet Mr Anubu who is from Bengaluru (Bengaluru Is A City In Karnataka State In India). Mr Dinesh from Madurai (Madurai Is A City In Tamil Nadu State In India) is at the counter. At metro station Ms Radha Singh gives token.

Reaching Mandi House In The Heart Of Delhi; Reaching Delhi University

The return walk to Mandi House I go past counter of Himachal Tourism from where one can secure Volvo buses ticket to different places in Himachal Pradesh (Himachal Pradesh Is A State In North India). Though the counter is closed it brings back memories of 2010 when I visited the said place to get ticket for Shimla (Shimla Is Capital Of Himachal Pradesh).  The query at another counter for apple juice doesn't elicit much. At Mandi House Metro Station Ms Kajal Rajput and Mr Sanip give token. Both the woman and gentleman are helpful. Mr Bappa Ghosh is kind enough to do frisking. Reach Rajiv Chowk at 10.18. Spot ad of A Stunning Heritage Awaits You In Rajasthan (Rajasthan Is A State In West India). Greet Mr Bal Kishan who is in a wheel chair and seems to be cheerful. Board metro for Delhi University at 10.27. Reach Delhi University at 10.41. Take apple juice from a counter. Later return to metro station where frisking is done by Mr L Mahato. Meet a student Ms Muskan who is studying in Ashram a place in the heart of Delhi and seeks direction for G T B Nagar. Later meet a group from Nigeria. Discuss about drought in parts of Africa as reported by Al Jazeera Channel beamed from Qatar. Deboard at Rajiv Chowk and wait for Qutub Minar bound train as I believe the rush would be less. Metro starts at 11.18 and I reach INA Metro Station at 11.30. Hail auto driven by Mr Jai Prakash. Reach Safdarjung Enclave home at 11.40.  It was a day when it was sensationally hot and I was not deterred and walked to destinations that were rock solid and invoking radiating bonhomie. A day to be cherished for the long walks that were accomplished along with different rides courtesy Delhi Metro.
