Tuesday was historic for the miles covered on foot and the destinations accessed with no mouth shoot

SEtting out on a tuesday, Jan 24th, it was an occasional reminder that miles unknown to mankind and probably those residing in tubes and with no shine had to be covered on foot. Started at 10 in the morning from Jhandu Singh Marg as those who set out during this hour have Jeene Ki Aaag. Coming underneath a flyover that went overhead, turned right to bring the circulation in the legs. Few minutes later i was face to face with a public convenience outlet, the ones which are dexterously engaged by moving and disappearing public to release pressure from their tools of succession.

Aware of the impending hazards i stepped down before approaching the ladder that led to such convenient utilities conveniently built for convalescing public. On the left lane which took me to government flats and fame i walked past them to reach INA den. FRom here taking left was the sole course letting me to go up and down the Safdarjung Flyover(here safdarjung is spelled with jung) with a renewed force. At the peak of the flyover was an ad hoarding commensurate with people loitering and in the process urinating. Perhaps the public convenience utility was the much desired object here as public desire to release liquid when they are at the peak of a flyover road that has undergone wear and tear.

Coming down the flyover i come across Hindi typing, writing hoarding next to a postal department office which has its own setting. Down from elevated to plain road, the elementary rules of the game suggested that i take pedestrian cake. Past Jor Bagh bus and metro stand and on to a path leading to SafdarJang's tomb, the time had come to shed the fun and bring more element to my walking ton.

Past Shiv Mandir and past first stretch of Tughlaq Road, the first halt was at Hanuman Home (10.45am) which remains open through the day as it engineers tuesday fray. Taking the road further the first semi circle cut i take brings a query from a man on a cycle wave. The Cong office query leads me to tell him to take the Akbar road which so far has no sizeable load.

Turning right from Krishna Menon Marg, it is Sunehari Bagh and the unbelievable quieteness that keeps it from capital clutter apart. The idea of going down the Rajpath, which would eventually lead me to ITO Art Gallery, gets defeated as the Rajpath has been closed to interventions due to republic day revelations. Equally revealing is the road i have to take and finally settle for Dr Rajendra Prasad Road which finally leads to Andhra Bhawan. Before AP Bhawan could be accessed i come across untamed release of water from a pipe of a government accommodation and this showed the insensitivity of denizens knowing well the scarcity of water and losing it is no fun.
Going past Ashoka Road and Hyderabad House few metres away is a signboard of Sarvochhaya Nyalaya. Turn left from there and i am close to apartments with their share of foyers. Red Chillies i wasn't supposed to get hamstrung and the idol of Lord Hanuman was my next halt located on the right turn. From there the rush is towards Delhi Gate and in between another Hanuman Home that has a left gate. It is probably 12 and here stepping past the Delhi Gate red light i can see some sections of Red Fort and its height. Before i could access the Red Fort i come across one roadside vendor near a library selling adult literature which leads to long line of adulterated happenings in society. Adult probably was his line of convenience and this reminds me of Kapoor Book Shop in Nathdwara Bus Stand, who is equally adept in making available to awaiting audience the adult nuances that they have never lent and sent. Not to be bogged down by such adulterated attempt i carry on with my journey. In another 20-odd minutes i am opposite Red Fort and here one gentleman has clinically observed my clinical pattern of speaking to myself. Here again, not to be clinically washed away by his observation i go past Digamber Jain Mandir and Ballimaran pointing races. Go straight and then turn left and in another 15 minutes i am in Yamuna Bazar and the congregation there suggests most have Khwaishein hazar.

The miles i took on foot with no mouth shoot clearly suggest that walking for hours together in Delhi's Shine has a plausible possibility given pedestrian stretches are no rarity. Still, the Kolkata Pedestrian Plus has its imaginative beat as you go past heat and a crowd that is not on retreat.
