Farmers' Agitation: Justified And Long Lasting
As ruling regime tries to drive a wedge between farmers union this move is highly condemnable to say the least. For more than a year measures like NRC, CAA, Triple Talaq and Farm Laws in India have been a repeated assault on nation's fabric and made the nation as divisive as never before. The ruling regime is acting with arrogance not known to our mind at any time in Independent India. Our prayers are with agitating farmers and they get their dues as soon as possible. Farmers are not backbenchers who would take this assault via Farm Laws by ruling regime as someone who have no base to fall upon. They should not fall prey to evil designs of ruling regime and our heart goes out to these agitating farmers. The leader of the ruling regime believes he is here to govern for 100 years unmindful of the fact that coup can happen any time anywhere and he desirably so relegated to history. Collection of drivers and men with shady past outside your place who heap abuse on you now and then when you pen a thought on this evil leader has become the new normal as this leader believes in making life miserable if any act of his is opposed tooth and nail. He is on the look out for any opportunity at any given point of time where he hits you with vengeance and make your life unbearable. The ruling dispensation doesn't understand the basic premise that farmers are here for our well being; why rob them of their resources which farmers accumulate after a hard day at work. In the first place the farmers did not ask for these Farm Laws then what prompted the right wing party to push these laws in haste with no room for negotiation.
Farmers are having a tough time in this biting cold and those activists who are espousing their cause need to be hailed. Farmers work day in and day out and their hard work brings them the requisite dividend. Why sneer at them and rob them of much-deserved dividend and make farming an enterprise in the hands of few with vested interest. How many Sikh farmers would emerge from the State of Gujarat can be counted on fingers, a non-sizeable and with no base of their own.
Farmers' agitation has been peaceful so far and we hope it continues to be in the same vein. The ruling regime would move heaven and earth to bring an element of friction among farming community and make their agitation go haywire. If that happens it would be a black day in the history of Independent India. The ruling regime's move is demeaning to say the least. The canard that ruling regime is spreading against farmers is highly shameful. It believes that this biting cold would freeze the movement of farmers and make them retire to their den. But that won't happen.

Politics is all about how arrogant one can become and how notorious their agents can be
Economic slowdown and upcoming palatial complex
In this era of economic slowdown and virus, laying stone for a palatial complex is highly regrettable. As farmers' agitation is bound to expand and have a roll over effect, the repeal and repeal of farm laws is the way out to break the deadlock. Those who question those in power get snubbed repeatedly and it is right of every Indian to question the madness with which those in power are governing. Politics is all about dirt one can heap on others and as you are witness to stone pelting episodes does it look to be stage managed? Probably yes.
A nation can't be governed on divise agenda and right from Triple Talaq, CAA to Farm Laws, dividing the society has been the hallmark of governance. This man can't tolerate dissent and that is his hallmark. You repeatedly hear abuse from outside day after day spun around the narrative that more you question the style of governance more dirt would be heaped on you. CAA has been out and out divise and so have been farm laws meant to break the backbone of farmers and their source of assimilation of wealth and resources. Delhi borders have been sitting on a powderkeg and it is 16th day of agitation with a simple demand from farmers to repeal the farm laws. Siege would be laid at power centres and maverick it may not look as farmers demands are just and justified. In this era of economic stagnation and with virus showing no signs of abating those in power think of building palatial complex with no knowledge of for whom and for what. This upcoming palatial complex is sheer waste of resources, effort and time. Shun the lust for power and think more like a commoner.
Reminiscing about walking from Alipiri Gate to Tirumala. It is truly uplifting experience as well as endeavour.

Farmers Protest In Delhi
As Farmers sit in protest bordering Delhi areas the clarion call is for govt to cede ground to Farmers. The langar (community kitchen) is something to hail as it involves assimilation of resources and labour. NDTV News Channel ran a series of reports on langars organised by Delhi Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee in the recent past.
As we enter another era of Bharat Bandh (India Shutdown) hope peace prevails across different quarters and shutdown is in toto. Repeal of farm laws is the only way out and there can be no two opinion about that.

Best Wishes To Bihar Chief Minister Mr Nitish Kumar And Congratulations On Taking Oath On Nov 16
It would be interesting to recall the stupendous feat achieved by Nitish Kumar-Sushil Modi combine in Bihar. Perhaps the same combine should have continued in the State of Bihar. Hope the NDA has a smooth sailing in Bihar with Mr Nitish Kumar at the helm for five years.
Elections in Bihar State in India
As Bihar State in India prepares itself for another innings by BJP-JDU combine, strain in the ties may or may not look inevitable given the big brother attitude that may come into play. Hope the BJP-JDU combine stay fit and solid and sail through for the next five years. As for RJD it was a case of so near yet so far. Had RJD not dispensed not-to-be-believed seats to its allies primarily Cong and contested these dispensed seats it would have been able to cobble up a majority on its own. The elections in Bihar was a thriller to say the least. It went down to the wire. Till Tuesday night it was not crystal clear who would have an upper hand with both the contesting combine running neck and neck. It was way past midnight when curtains came down on counting, the BJP-JDU combine was placed in the hot seat. Despite BJP outscoring JDU as far as seats were concerned the BJP lost no time in putting speculation to rest by asserting that the next govt would be headed by none other than Mr Nitish Kumar. The RJD put up a good fight and on its own gathered 75 seats, a remarkable feat by the young leadership. This young leadership has enough arsenal in the scheme of things and would be a challenge to the presiding regime. Mr Nitish Kumar knows pretty well how to respond to challenges as and when they come to the fore.
Right through the counting day the pendulum swung one way or the other with RJD propelled by its young leader Tejashwi Yadav all of 31 showing how close the contest was and how competitive the politics had begun to shape itself with young guns trying to displace the greying elements. Mr Nitish Kumar has a track record which would be hard to dismiss and an honest image that gells well with the electorate and yet he faced a daunting task given the LJP's determined bid to unsettle the JDU on the seats from where it was contesting. As for Tejashwi he is a force to reckon with and Nitish needs to watch out for moments when the former may try to outmanoeuvre him. With 75 seats under his belt the young gun could well be the kingmaker if not king in the years to come. Mr Nitish Kumar has provided able governance minus job creation and that was a handicap as the roller coaster ride the campaign witnessed.
With no jobs and large scale migration Bihar is one State that is in urgent need of an industrial blueprint that could accelerate its reach and momentum. Unless industries spread across wide spectrum doesn't set up base in Bihar, the job creation issue would continue to nail it down and make the regime more vulnerable. BJP leader Mr Sushil Modi too worked tirelessly during poll campaign. It was a nail biting finish, photo finish and a cliffhanger and what not with enough sermons for leaders across party lines.
As for the BJP which rose to the occasion to hold celebrations the next day in the party headquarters in New Delhi in the scheme of things its leadership though outspoken should be more benevolent. As for AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) party led by Mr Owaisi it opened its account by winning five seats in Seemanchal segment of Bihar. Making inroads in other states would be a hard task on hand; the Bihar verdict may well give an opportunity to oil its machinery to take a shot at new territories. Again NDTV news channels stood out and 14 hour non stop coverage on counting day gave enough hints why viewers trust this news channel network.
KBC Episode featuring Mr Leander Paes and Ms Dipa Karmakar was great

Big Thank You To Sony TV For Being Benevolent Towards Contestant Jatin In KBC Episode Aired On Nov 12

Congratulations to Mr Joe Biden and his family members for enlisting historic win in the US
Big Congratulations to Mr Joe Biden for coming victorious in US Presidential Race. Legal proceedings can't overturn the verdict and this road to victory means a lot to Americans and people round the world. On the day of polling and subsequent night it looked as if his opponent had a fair chance and could take a shot to White House. Minutes turning to hours, hours turning to days and as postal ballot began to be counted Mr Joe Biden's path to victory looked more solid and transparent. Both candidates had record number of votes under their belt and the better candidate stood out.
From Pennsylvania where Joe was trailing by a huge margin on Tuesday night the counting in progress for those who had voted earlier made him make a dent in Pennsylvania as well with Michigan and Wisconsin getting him the necessary votes. At 253 and 17 short, the turn of the tide in Pennsylvania was enough to put him on winning track and a man as sober as Joe made it to White House. Perhaps there could be recounting of votes in States like Georgia where margin of victory is less than one per cent but that won't change the outcome.
Mr Biden is one who believes in taking everyone along and neither Red States nor Blue States he would commit for, he would largely commit himself to United States. He has experience in office and that would help him navigate uncertain future where twin challenges of coronavirus and a divisive nation would be a big test. Joe is determined to prove that his upcoming track record would be no easy achievement to be assailed and the opponent should not be recalcitrant to not respect the mandate. A divisive nation as ever as before, the US as a nation state looks forward to screaming and shining ties with a host of nations and Joe would be the right man at the helm. Our best wishes to Mr Biden and his family members and all across who rooted for him.
S P BALASUBRAMANYAM - WE WILL MISS YOU
S P Balasubramanyam - The Man With A Golden Voice
Having sung over 16,000 songs in different Indian languages, S P Balasubramanyam's contribution to Indian film industry is hard to forget. Amidst cacophony produced by day today thunder and protests here and there we could not earlier pen a thought or two on S P Balasubramanyam whose vocal chords won laurels across the world.
ETV Telugu and ETV Andhra Pradesh channels frequently showed performances by various artists including S P Balasubramanyam or S.P.B. or Balu as he was fondly called who had a magical touch to the songs he sang. It would be appropriate to confer Bharat Ratna on S P Balasubramanyam and sooner a decision is taken the better it would be. The Indian film industry has lost its poster boy and a man who with his charm won million hearts. Besides being a playback singer he was music director, actor and film producer who worked tirelessly for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi film industry. Balu was a multi tasker and man who would remain etched in our thoughts for long. Most of the devotional songs played in Tirumala in praise of Lord Govinda has Balu's touch and something that we can't forget.

Pranab Babu Whom We Knew
Recalling days of steadfast innings, Pranab Babu had the coveted honour of being the Chief Guest in School Function when we were in Delhi Public School (DPS) R K Puram. At that time he was part of Indira's Cabinet holding sumptuous portfolios with an eye for detail. That was early and approaching mid-80s. He shared uneasy equation with the party chief later in mid-80s almost cold shouldered for few years. He won back party chief confidence and returned to the party with unassuming intent.
First admission of the fact that we never met him in person and yet he catched eyeballs after eyeballs for his deft moves in political theatre. Finance was the arena where Pranab Babu excelled and his presentation of more than one budget saw him play to the gallery. Cutting across party lines he won support for his candidature to President's Post. In fact one news anchor of NDTV 24X7 put it as "Done Deal"in 2012 when Pranab Babu won almost entire support of parties across political spectrum and was all set to be India's President with elections a mere formality. Some of the events we could recollect was his annual sojourn to his home town in West Bengal State for Durga Pujo festivity. He did not buck this trend even after moving into Rashtrapati Bhawan (President House). It was he who coined State Actor term to describe the antecedents of Mumbai attack perpetrators in 2008. What we can recall with ease is his visit to Cambodia in January 1996 when we were posted there as India's representative. His intervention and dollop of support led to renovation/installation of a full fledged Kali Bari in Safdarjung Enclave which everyone cherished for the energy and impetus it brimmed with every Durga Pujo celebration.
Pranab Babu would be remembered for his versatility and contribution to Indian Polity and a man who brought effervescence and freshness to the varied assignments furnished to him. In fact the goals he set out to achieve were never out of reach and he pole vaulting to President's Office illustrates that. He had a buddy in every political party of India and that sums up the man and his mission. Likes of him would be hard to trace in Indian Polity and he would be remembered for centuries to come.
Reports in a section of Press which works under Duress
According to reports appearing in a section of Press which works under duress, two developments evinced keen interest this weekend. First another rain spell to lash Delhi next week with moderate to heavy rainfall forecast making to Page One blast. Second was on CWC meeting which is to take place on Monday. As far as first report is concerned Delhi and beyond are in for heavy shower which would lead to water logging at multiple places with no bar. The waterlogged streets would be something to watch out for as rains won't spare anyone and those coming under its spell would take to liquor and ring the roadside bell.
Delhi and neighbouring areas would be battered by multiple spell of showers, making it mandatory for office goers to take out their umbrella and still fish out out an excuse to skip office as roads are waterlogged and accessibility to office is entirely blocked. Office attendance would be thin and those present leaving no opportunity to cringe. Heavy spell is likely to continue till August twenty seven followed by dirt cheap sale of suiting made by Raymond. Once heavy spell subsides and people return to their offices wearing clothes that are tight, they would assume MET department would make another rain forecast giving them the alibi to skip office and stay at home and still deciding to skip the news channels Dangal and Hallabol debates which are pedestrian and with no hope. This rain and that crane would be the usual sight to watch out for and once monsoon is history, the people and nations would try to evoke a new chemistry. This spell of rain across country has led to floods and still some political parties wish to try the poll route in November not heckled by this much-maligned agenda as the worldwide virus crisis has not broken their slumber and they addicted to their poll funda.
The second development on CWC meeting on Monday generated keen interest as it is being held after long series of fisticuffs in some marooned news channels debates and a long unending session of running nose and cough. All special and permanent invitees have been told to be present for the meeting and this meet would be via video conferencing sensing the mood of the nation in places as varied as canteen. The lease for 24 Akbar Road which is party headquarters is up for renewal and this would surely come up for discussion. The lease should be renewed with no rethink and any vindictive attitude would appropriately display ruling authorities chink. This meet via video conferencing would at length discuss the political climate in the country and hope peace prevails in the train pantry which for long has been shunned to malfunctioning era miles away from New Zealand's Koura.
This CWC meet and the deliberations would become the content for debates in news channels some of which need to despised and shunned to roadside tunnels. Once the news channels pick up from their sources on what all was discussed at CWC, it would be appropriate time to widely open TV SETS and not flee. There was a time when members hailing from CWC Tribe would be treated as Kings and given the dispensation we are under in the CWC meet makes it to inside pages with no zing. That apart it would also be the time when the study on Indian tourism industry would come under scanner as appropriately showcased by newspaper report, something that doesn't make us gloat. The Indian tourism industry is in for hard times and the worldwide crisis has made it pay the long due fine.
As the worldwide crisis lingers on the stupid and not stupendous stock market still makes it to front page with occasional rally opening the marooned financial gate and watch those in attendance and their gait. As stories are picked up to scan and not cram, it is time to rethink on the cricket extravaganza in UAE where people don't openly pee and flee. UAE is known for its strengths and it is one territory that is also worldwide virus crisis tense.
Story in a National Daily on English as link language and mapping out pieces on front page on an average
As we came across a story in a prominent daily published from Delhi on English gaining strength as link language it was time to figure out stories mapped out on front page on an average. The story expanded its brief and probably looked at the prospect of two individuals arriving from the same mother tongue who would prefer to converse in English rather than their mother tongue and this essentially explained the rise of ENGLISH AS ONE. Changes in school and inter-state migration helped English to pole vault knowing fully well in the decades to come it won't halt. According to the story largely based on an institute study, the number of children studying in English almost doubled from 12 to 23 per cent between 07-08 and 17-18, waiting in the wings to treble even in areas where there would be none of the winning trophy and team. English landscaped schools are quite gung-ho over its reach and acceptability and English is well the language of future amidst a worldwide crisis that sends signs of rupture.
English we study and English we learn is different from offers that we systematically spurn. English is the language that developing countries embrace and India is no different to join the race. English is the language we employ to converse in South India; it is primarily used to pile on offers that no one can reverse. English helps us to keep up with the times we live in this worldwide crisis that has engulfed and not evaporated; English is employed to trace signs of recovery that has perennially perpetuated.
As the National Daily dropped hints on meeting between Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, interlocutors would have employed English that doesn't seasonally buckle. The two leaders exchanged Namaste essentially an Indian Greeting, the picture between the two figured in National Daily Printing.
Another Story in the National Daily was on DU Admission Tests to be held from September six to eleven and probably those taking tests would figure some coming with name Michael Bevan. Those who don't take tests might lose an academic year and this is the foremost fear. How Admission Tests would be held when worldwide crisis hasn't lulled is the foremost thought in a nation caught in Ladakh boundary knot.
As we flipped through pages to find stories of those having left their cages, thoughts were trained on IPL and its losing gambit, being held in a territory with UAE permit. It is a challenge to hold over 40-day event when worldwide virus crisis hasn't receded keeping future tense and not accelerated.
Catching up with newspaper headlines amidst the worldwide crisis we are in
As per directive of Delhi Govt, hotels, restaurants can serve liquor. This aim to serve liquor is meant to scale up revenue and reach out to those skilled with multitasking thanks to power avenue. This liquor would be served essentially by those who have been tutor and tweets would flow once liquor cap would go. How much to serve and whom to serve is not known. Liquor could be served at restaurants as part of dine-in services and in hotel rooms. This move to allow restaurants to serve liquor may still require the approval of L-G (Lieutenant Governor) who nowadays is quite busy. What is on his mind is not known and whether he would give the necessary approval if at all it is required may be known in the days to come.
Once the liquor ban goes, the people would hit the dancing floors. Amidst the worldwide crisis moves are afoot to give liquor a new spin which for all practical purposes has been spurned by aficionados who amidst liquor plenty would beam. Liquor is one thing that can tilt the scales from high rise buildings to amazing speed moving flights who wish to cling on to come what may flying rights.
Another headline went like this PAN without Aadhar could be made defunct something that would be celebrated as big-ticket event. How much linking the govt of the day wants, link this with Aadhar, link that with mobile power. It is really foolish to see that kitchen gas cylinder booking has been made mandatory to be done by mobile which would send a number which one would have to quote while receiving a gas cylinder. This is out and out stupid. This linking and that blinking would make us link ourselves with mobile/smartphone which would rob us of peace of mind as if worldwide virus crisis is not enough and by no means kind.
In this worldwide crisis, the India-China border standoff shows signs of petering out amidst signals that new areas of confrontation would open up and it is better the trade ties is reduced to zero and let the national pride be the heroic hero. BIG C wants to be Monsoon Maestro and a tough stand and zero trade would be the least we could do and not necessarily berate.
