The Duo Who Shaped India

The Duo Who Shaped India

Had it not been for Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao's foresight his Finance Minister Pick Manmohan Singh would not have been able to bring to the table adaptable solutions for an economy down in the dumps. Manmohan Singh inherited an economy lying crestfallen and nearing to enter collapse corridor. A corridor where intractable differences could make the economy wobble and with little whisper.

Moves On Political Chessboard In Sync With Economic Territory That Was Ready To Float

When P V Narasimha took over the mantle he was eager to engineer moves on political chessboard that were in sync with chants in economic territory of freedom and limitless fusion. Narasimha Rao was face to face with a political landscape that was far away from mirth of spirited season and it needed complete overhaul over the coals to get in shape. From the fag end of '89 to '91 middle India was enslaved in a riddle of unpredictability and unreliability . Indecision and variability shadowed the regimes that were in office.  And the duo knew the tract of land they were presiding over needed complete facelift with least imaginable hiccups.

Vicissitudes Of Life Throw Up Unexpected Challenges

Vicissitudes Of Life throw up unexpected challenges and this duo of Narasimha Rao and Manmohan Singh were well aware of. Narasimha Rao gave complete freedom to Manmohan Singh to bring economy back on track and from the first budget presented in '91 to those laying the papers till '96 the enormity of defiance and trial were truly earth shaking and nonetheless receding. It was collective responsibility of duo that made India have a tryst with democracy and economy with truly rewarding numbers. Numbers that made South East Asian nations realise India was amidst economy pivot agenda and that was meant to usher in definiteness and a steady stock of validity.

Uncertain Grapevine A Thing Of The Past

The uncertain grapevine had become a thing of the past and on the back of reforms in economy to political sphere India was hailed as Theatre of Excellence. From '91 to '96 India was miles away from riding roughshod over international rules of the game and the nation chanced a prospect to ride smooth with enough dose of clarity; clarity that gave the nation a regime that completed five years in office with least provocation and remonstrance. Manmohan Singh in particular saw to it that the economic blueprint was not subjected to endless sessions of interrogation and the innings he anchored as Finance Minster were truly uplifting. Narasimha Rao departed in December 2004 and Manmohan Singh 20 years later and their absence would be felt in every nook and corner of country. They were visionaries  and playing an anthem of emancipation and liberation unfailing in their endeavour no matter from which quarter resistance creeped in. They were leaders setting in a chain reaction where one good deed done brought multiple gains to A Giant Like India.
