Having reached Secunderabad the next destination to access was Srisailam. Leave Jubilee Bus Station after 9 AM and MGBS after 10 with a halt at latter station for over 30 minutes with no thoughts on having doughnut. Soon after leaving Hyderabad and beyond there are scenic places on the way and drip irrigation pattern much in place and something to gauge. Amangal comes at 11.30, Dindi 12.40 and much celebrated Amrabad Tiger Reserve Periphery at 1.10 and here there is no ringing of bell. There are lot of mosques and temples on the way perhaps illustrating India is a nation of different faiths and here all are welcome including those who have written tests like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) and GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering).  Areas boasting of huge hills with splendid green cover could be seen with ascent beginning at 1.15. With Mannanur coming at 1.30, with no sighting of racing vehicle Ferrari and occupants need not be haughty. 

Plastic Free Zone; Reaching Srisailam

None Willing To Dispense Room 

Lodges and Charitable Trust I tried for accommodation were Sri Uma Lingeswara Devanga Satram, Sri Krishna Devaraya Charitable Trust, Gowri Sadan, Ganga Sadan, Rudra Dormitory and Sholapur Dharamsala. With none willing to dispense room I am flustered and left with no option I reach out to Mr Amarnath in Srisailam Devasthanam Cop Station and he hands over the slip to be deposited at Sri Uma Lingeswara Devanga Satram Counter. There is more surprise in store as this slip has a validity for 24 hours only even if one has landed from Beverly. The room is fairly clean and with bed and other furnitures entirely treen. Visit To Srisailam Store opposite temple gets me the laminated pictures and there are enough watchers. The next day leave bed early and try for black tea and here visiting temple early morning hours most agree. 

Visiting Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple

The time I am in temple queue it is well past 6 and from 6.30 onwards people start collecting in a big hall and there is another one housing equal number of devotees and this is true come Winter or Fall. Till 9.45 the gates of either hall don't open. And when gates do open there is stampede like rush and here Srisaila Devasthanam should bear in mind that they should open one hall at a time and after a brief interval open the second hall. Despite the rush multiplying the race to access Sanctum Sanctorum doesn't take much of a time and by 10.15 one can sight with ease Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy who is a force to reckon with. By 10.30 one is out of temple and later collect laddus and in this winter spell there be no need to go through rigmarole of gradus. The restaurant going by the name Murugan is nowhere to be seen and I settle for meals from Hotel Apoorva with Mr T Mahesh Reddy at the counter. Later I visit bus station to board a bus to Hyderabad A City Which Gets Yearly Reward.

Bringing In New Narrative

It was a visit to Srisailam lasting less than 24 hours and sighting of Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy was a moment to relive again. The road to the temple and roundabout is free of litter and entire place looks to be squeaky clean. Mind you here you don't get mineral water in plastic bottle as use of plastic is entirely banned and water one can have from glass bottle. Srisailam has taken series of initiatives to be eco friendly and three cheers for bringing in this narrative and more and more are getting receptive.
