Reaching Godowlia in Varanasi; Reaching Dasashwamedh in Varanasi

Reaching Godowlia in Varanasi; Reaching Dasashwamedh in Varanasi

Having collected the luggage, it was time to see if a cosy ride could be accomplished by auto from Varanasi Airport. I could not spot any auto and the taxi fare from Airport to Godowlia, the place where one has to deboard for Kashi Vishwanath Temple stood at steep rs 800. Godowlia Crossing is a famous spot in Varanasi as one has to walk from here if one is wishing to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. As i came out of arrival lounge, i was promised a share ride in a vehicle to Godowlia. The man who acted as a middleman and guided me to the taxi was ill mannered.  There were five men including driver in the vehicle and i would remain grateful to Mr Sanjay Singh who frequently prodded the driver to take me to a place from where i could access hotels with reasonable tariff.

There was one gentleman from Hyderabad who through his smartphone showed the delicacies of Kashi (Varanasi) and was eager to know from where he could get them. All along this Hyderabad gentleman was speaking in the car with his notings on delicacies of Kashi that he would like to try, the different ghats that he would like to visit and if possible take a boat ride as well. He wanted to explore the other famous spots of Varanasi city.  Mind you the ride from Airport to Godowlia is roughly 35 kms and it takes over an hour to reach there.

I was dropped far away from Godowlia and the search for hotels was done on foot. With no success on hand i hailed a cycle rickshaw and asked the person concerned to take me to Godowlia. It was chilling cold and the weather format suggested that plains of the North were in grip of cold maelstrom. The city of Varanasi was much colder than city of Delhi. Those visiting Varanasi for the Temple should take a taxi ride to Godowlia and from there walk on foot as they can come across a large number of Guest Houses and hotels. The first lodge to be tried was Dasashwamedh Lodge in Dasashwamedh which showed no vacancy and here there was a boy going by the name Govind who assured me that he would get me the requisite lodge/guest house at reasonable rate.

From Dasashwamedh lodge we went to Sri Venkateshwar Lodge with Mr Mohan at the counter. I told Mr Mohan that i am an ardent devotee of Lord Govinda (Lord Venkateshwar of Tirumala) and i would be content to stay in his lodge. He asked me to come the next day as there was no spare room. From here we went to Maa Padmavathi Guest House with Mr Upendar Yadav at the counter who expressed his inability to dispense a room. The next place to be tried was Laxmi Venkatesh Atithi Grih with the room coming on the third floor. There was Mr Sunil Adichwal there who said for the time being he can spare a room with three bed on the third floor. Then we went to Bhuteshwar Gali and zeroed in on Luxmi Guest House where one Mr Tripathi was willing to lend room for two days. This Luxmi Guest House too was in Dasashwamedh.  Later i walked all the way to Dawat restaurant in the vicinity of Godowlia Crossing and took dinner. The man who served went by the name Mr Manoj and the food a bit expensive was high in quality. Half an hour in the restaurant i decided to see if the Kashi Vishwanath temple was open. Visiting the temple one has to do away with the cell and pen. I was inside the temple but could not sight the Kashi Vishwanath Lingam as night Aarti was on. Post Aarti i left the place and came to my room.

The next morning which happened to be Sunday i visited Raja Tea Point where there was one Babloo serving tea. He was kind enough to dish out more than two sets of black tea. After getting ready i set out for Kashi Vishwanath Temple and i joined the queue. In under 20 minutes i was in sanctum sanctorum  and sighted Kashi Vishwanath Lingam. I was thrilled to sight Lord Shiva's Lingam and even though it was a fleeting glimpse it was enough for me, The temple is squeaky clean and approach to the same is worth noting flanked by different vendors dispensing flowers, garlands, milk and prasadam to be offered to the Lord.

Leaving For Varanasi In India To Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Leaving For Varanasi In India To Visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple

As i decided to leave for Varanasi on a Saturday, the Vistara flight (UK 671) which i was supposed to board had enough passengers in the fray. Left home a little before 1 pm and reached airport (T3) a little after 1.30 with Mr Dharmendar the taxi driver who hailed from Uttar Pradesh a state with enough tourist spots with conflicting aspirations and base. Mr Dharmendar spoke about ill gotten wealth that some residents of Delhi City had got access to and i could not disagree a bit given the clamour for instigating turmoil/disturbances by ill-mannered souls like drivers in different places with police cover aces. At IGI Airport New Delhi i happen to meet Mr R S Gurjar, traffic volunteer, i also happen to meet Mr Satish or Mr Suresh another traffic volunteer. Meet Mr Praveen and Ms Rani who guide me to an ATM which i discovered was non functioning with none of the ream. As i entered the innards of departure lounge there was no bell bonge. Having collected the boarding card i began to note the stores in T3 heart

Stores in T3

- Masala Twist
- Secure Wrap Baggage Wrapping
- Costa Coffee
- Ckrushh Juice Bar
- Travel Good
- Exchange Currency
- Self check-in
- Cafeccino

After having dumped the coat and wallet in a tray and Mr Vinod Kumar Yadav pushing the same, it was Mr Omveer who did frisking with enough aspirations in the fray. Post frisking i began to make a mental note of flights to different destinations and on display board were flights to Bhubaneswar, Varanasi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Gaya, Lucknow, Rajkot, Paris Praygraj, Hyderabad, Singapore, Udaipur, Patna, Kathmandu, Ludhiana Jammu, Dharamsala, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Muscat, Nanded, Tel Aviv, Abu Dhabi, Tashkent and Bagdogra. Having made note of destinations where different flights were headed towards there were stores with no sighting of cowards.

Ms Sapna from Vistara airlines wanted to have a look at my ticket with the promise that i would stand to gain as far air fare went if i choose to fly by Vistara next time.

With different food outlets serving snacks/food that were tough on your pocket it was time to wait for boarding with none sporting the qualities of a rabbit. Once inside aircraft i could lay hands on Vistara inflight magazine which was even read by those sporting masculine jean. There Was Story on Swachh Bharat. A crusade on cleanliness, Story on Indore declared cleanest city in India, Potpourri A collage of happenings from the world of travel, entertainment, technology and current affairs, Story on Rocky Mohan's Wazwaan co-authored by Waza Sharief, Shafi and Rafiq

As i began to flip through pages there were stories

- A Tryst With History. Indore's Heritage Triangle (Make time to see the evening aarti at   Omkareshwar)
- Galle The Dutch City with a Lankan soul. It is about 130 kms from Colombo
- Tales from Taiwan
- This Christmas eat drink and be merry
It featured Christian markets in
*Nuremberg
*Strasbourg
*Chicago
*Sapporo
*Jerusalem

There was a Story on Dreamy town of Rothenburg Ob der Tauber ('red fort on the River Tauber') (it should be spelled Tauber and not Tamber), Story on Horizontal Falls in Australia (Talbot bay is one of the country's most unique natural wonders), Story on Slovenia which has wellness retreats and culinary surprises. As for Swachh Bharat Revolution the Tata Group association came in the form of 41 companies, 2,00,000 hours, 1000+ activities and 74.000 volunteers.

There were two women sitting  next to me one hailing from Portugal, the other hailing from Melbourne whose husband was sitting on a different seat. The Melbourne woman was a Sri Lankan by birth (Sinhala) with one child residing in London, other in Singapore and the third one residing with her in Melbourne. We spoke about the fire that had ravaged parts of Australia and the Melbourne Woman went by the name Mallik He. She could not be served food as her flight ticket showed no deductions for meals and she had to settle for coffee/tea. The flight took off at 4.40 pm and reached Varanasi at 5.45. At Varansi airport it was security man Mr Jabir Singh  who greeted me. Perhaps the airport looks to be newly built with enough aspirational index and a bit far from the main city.

Amidst Slowdown In Economy The Ride To Delhi Cantt Station

Amidst Slowdown In Economy The Ride To Delhi Cantt Station

The ride to Delhi Cantt Railway Station was accomplished with the weather not turning freak and cold sweeping the plains of North India where there was none of the heat. It was Mr Surendar who dispensed pigeon feed whom i came across while walking to Nauroji Nagar bus stand where there were none who perfected the art of serving as boss. Boarded Bus Number 874 at 1.23 pm with the ride amongst those who reported to GM (General Manager). It was at breakneck speed the bus was moving with the knowledge that this orange colour bus had among its passengers some grooving. The almighty speed was a potent reminder how lean were the traffic rules in the city of Delhi and how fewer adhered to norms given they had to constantly fight away their blues.

One newspaper the previous day had a story on IMF's observation that India was in the middle of a significant slowdown, how significant was this noting given the country which was witness to round the year voting. Slowdown coming amidst fuming tax revenues with declining consumption and investment and there was a need to pitch your tent. Another story was on Delhi facing the coldest December spell in 22 years, some would find this occasion to cheer with no accompanying fear.
The poor is hit the hardest in chilling cold and they need to wrap themselves with enough woolens and be bold. They need not fear the khakiwallahs who occasionally uses baton to disperse them with the latter having gulped down a glass of rum.

Reached Delhi Cantt Railway Station at 1.43 pm with the sighting of Ala Hazrat Express coming from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh State and heading towards Bhuj in Gujarat State. Another Al Hazrat Express from Bhuj and going towards Bareilly comes on Platform (PF) 2. Yatra Special Ambala Rameswaram departs from PF 1 with 19 coaches with enough passengers who were ever ready to hand over roses. On PF 1 there is a Multipurpose Stall and Upper Class Waiting Hall. There were series of announcements with train number 14545 to Saharanpur delayed by 30 minutes, train number 15715 from Kishanganj to Ajmer delayed by two hours as in PF 1 bathroom some were taking shower. Snacks Vendor Vikas is kind enough to hand over salted peanuts, with tea vendor Sushil Kumar not to be seen probably fixing the engine and its innards. The search for tea vendor outside station couldn't yield much in a nation where there was famed festival in a place in Gujarat called Kutch.

The ride back to Safdarjung Enclave was accomplished in bus number 724 which had its own set of roar. Cricket was one game that had begun to discover declining viewership with bets, doping employed so that the opponents could not thrive. This  was done with no less enthusiasm and it was time games/sporting events like Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Badminton, Athletics (Running, Walking, Jumping and Throwing), Basketball and Hockey needed to be upgraded with a renewed vision. The Jharkhand Jolt had given the right wing party an opportunity to introspect and take all including minorities namely Muslims under its belt. As JMM political party begins its new innings in State of Jharkhand hope it would be miles away from Graft and Grunt.

Chilling effects of protest and those relying on hearsay test

Chilling effects of protest and those relying on hearsay test

With newspaper of the day having noted Indian Meteorological Department's prediction going haywire in cold December, it was prudent to count the chilling effects of protest and their number. In the Hindi heartland mayhem was all over the place with protesters periodically taking respite from rage race. A day in the life of a protester is not easy to essay in a nation where the tools they employ is based on hearsay. The protester gets up by seven to eight in the morning with one hand holding the shower the other cell power. He is no mood to join the protest before noon, it is when the crowd would swell and croon. As he takes multiple cups of coffee he is inundated with the thought of not joining the protest as a jockey. He would prefer to walk all the way to protest zone as he wants to demonstrate that he is fighting fit and prepared to severe ties with the clone.

The protester takes his own sweet time to make calls some to roaming destinations which have seen series of brawls. As he gets ready to leave home having filled his belly with pone, the walk to the designated spot is intertwined with cell calls which apparently want to convey the nation is caught in a knot. Out in play are thousand people who have gathered to protest and they assure those in police attire that they would march for a while and then retire and in all likelihood keep protest away from violence wire. Some arsonists who have joined the fray start pelting stones with a ferocity that would shake those who have the tendency to repeatedly take ice cream cone. They torch a vehicle here and a bus there and in the end get dispersed by water canon which is not rare.

The opposition tries to reach out to protesters urging them to keep up the momentum not realising this open invitation and awkward stand can make them land in a place where there is excessive sand. The opposition should have given a clarion call to keep the protest peaceful and yet some opposition parties want the protester to carry the violence tool as was amply seen in Bihar State which no one could fool. The opposition is mandated to lend support to these protesters with the rider that peace has to prevail at any cost and they the protester should at no point of time be beast boss. Opposition parties have a larger role to play in ensuring that peace should be the in thing; the acts of arson and treason would be condemned by one and all in zing bing. As one is made to understand that Govt of the day and night would/might stand steadfast on CAA, diluting the NRC (National Register of Citizens) in toto would bring peace and douse fires ravaging in vicinity of area named Brea.

In these protests the UP State in India has been hardest hit and the large number that turned out to protest shows the rampant unemployment and enraged environment. The break in in Jamia University was unwarranted; the students of this prized institute should see to it that protests by and large remains peaceful and arson elements don't take centrestage and rule.

The Mumbai Protest showed in plenty how peace can be maintained even when thousands (over 20,000) turn up to show solidarity against CAA, this should be the thumb rule to be applied across country even by those drawing handsome DA (Dearness Allowance).

There are ads of weekly flights from city of Bengaluru to Amsterdam, the latter is one place where the computers have breathtaking RAM. In Amsterdam the traffic is by no means sombre, and climate is largely cold, the weather can turn freak with people unwilling to flaunt their Gold. In the name of protest and those wearing vest, some items would get stolen and this would be the shape of things as has happenned in literature largely defined as Roman.

Tweets and emerging cleats

Tweets and emerging cleats

As tweets began to emerge from protesters protesting against CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) they wanted to converge at a designated spot where they could unravel the plot. Word came in that CAA was yet to be notified and the day it is dumped for good that day and ensuing season won't be brute. The time is ripe for CAA and NRC (National Register of Citizens) to be set aside so that flames of fury subside. Protests raging across country need to have a coating of calm and peaceful posturing and gathering of people should not be unnerved by repeated hectoring. On Thursday, Dec the 20th the traffic on Delhi-Gurgaon highway went out of control as Sec 144 had been on a roll. A jampacked Delhi-Gurgaon highway shared space on news channel with protests in different parts of country primarily making of those who were in the employment fray.

Demonstration primarily comprising people of varying age group; the protest at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai on Thursday, Dec 20th kept everyone in the loop. Peaceful by all sorts, the August Kranti Maidan gathering wanted rollback of CAA and and non application of NRC across the country, and none of the acts that could ignite violence inventory.

Word came in internet services had been shut in parts of UP and other disturbed places, it was the long standing rumour that led to vandalism with most arson elements covering their faces. Rumours in times of crisis spells doom, it is time to bid goodbye to violence and emerging ruin. Word emerged that stock markets had opened at a record high on Friday as facts emerged that arson and hysteria is an aberration in a nation as diverse as India. Once CAA and NRC become history, India would be welcome by those who would celebrate and see the country on a growth trajectory.  The Govt of the day needs to put it in black and white that CAA and NRC would be set aside and let assembled innovative flight of imagination glide.

Saturday, Dec 14 Save India Rally against Citizenship Amendment Act that was not routine

Saturday, Dec 14 Save India Rally against Citizenship Amendment Act that was not routine

Post Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) which transformed to Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) tally after the nation's Prez gave his assent there was Mega Save India Rally with participants primarily those who were staying on rent. This rally was organised in the heart of Delhi where you come across enough people from varying age group finding the food on table to be little to fill their belly. The turnout was huge as people were on a cruise as they listened in rapt attention to speaker after speaker release their pent up anger over country's jammer which did not let them speak their mind against CAA and the breakneck speed at which it was cleared by Two Houses of Indian Parliament that had in plenty those with the degree of BA. Internet curbs had been in place to thwart rumours whose origin and base was difficult to trace and these internet curbs were justified in a nation where political brinkmanship throws up daily to weekly surprise. For over a week or so, parts of the country have been up in flames and all indication pointed towards the need to rein in CAA in chains. CAA was not anti muslim was the die-hard message the treasury benches wanted to send; the disturbances across India made them look like hapless spectators caught in a dogfight between gents.

The treasury benches wanted to convey that those facing religious persecution at the hands of majority and this primarily meant minority, the doors were opened for them as all the three nation states Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan were Islamic entities (nothing to rue over this fact) taking decisions in haste. Political class in India needs to be on the same page as protests and reciprocal stress would drain out resources and their case and sooner CAA is nipped in the bud, alarming won't be the fut. Protests may fizzle out over a period of time this what the ruling class believes not realising this won't happen sooner and the landscape would resemble the presence of cooner. India as a nation stands divided and divisive is the agenda of CAA; the fiscal deficit having crossed the threshold is much due to Govt Employees DA.

This CAA would not have been brought in the first place was the refrain from the opposition class and they stood corrected in a nation of evolving tigers and those offering rose. Where was the need to bring the CAA when none report for work including your PA (Personal Assistant). Would this CAA have legs to stand in the court is not known, what is know is the fact that festering tension across country hits your livelihood and extending to residents of Rome. Normalcy needs to return to the North East, UP and other parts of India as violence is something that brings in dollop the wobbly nature of Feria. Shun violence, shun hatred should be the underlying goal in a nation state like India with divergent poles.

We can't provide employment and homes to our own citizens - Population in India 1300 million and counting - and here the govt managers in places as varied as Jharkhand State are talking about taking in those facing religious persecution in neighbouring nation states with full respect and giving them citizenships and by no means to be treated as Guests. You supercilious politicos of ruling class you are miles away from reality and providing citizenships to new set of ladies and gents would make you look more a class of haughty. The CAA is faulty and faulty are Govt's designs in a nation where divise politics makes the people whine. As i face imponderables as far as restoring net connection is concerned the khakiwallahs in neighbouring house is a frustrated lot who knocks your net connection now and then and who primarily stays on rent.

With Sec 144 imposed and those offering rose those defying the diktat were those who understood the implications of CAA and NRC (National Register of Citizens) and wanted to be in shoes of those who were free. The nasty elements who in the name of protest take to crime and release arson tide should be dismantled and best course would be to put internet curbs in disturbed places for long as that would snatch away from them the status of King Kong.

Hindi Movie Mardaani 2 Released In India And Its Review

Hindi Movie Mardaani 2 Released In India And Its Review

The opening scene is of a man no less than a Monster who sees women as sexual toys to be played around. Sexually starved the Monster ravages and vandalises the women from top to toe and this is what he is best doing at with aplomb. The film has undercurrents of wild sexual assault taking place  now and then with this Monster Sunny ripping apart women of his liking or one who have hit his self esteem much to the chagrin of SP Shivani Shivaji (Actor Ms Rani Mukerji). The Monster has been hired by a politico in Kota who wants to get rid of a journo and he carries out this act by making it look as if it was a suicide and not a murder.

Having excelled in UPSC (Union Service Public Commission) exams conducted in India and undergone training at Patel Police Academy, SP Shivani has the knack to take the bull by the horn. Having visited a crime scene where a woman fell prey to nasty designs of Monster, the assaulted woman was all by herself with innumerable assaults visiting her leaving her motionless and Shivani is able to divulge that assault was the handiwork of a lefty who dragged the hapless woman before strangulating her with his belt. The script has loose ends in the sense that Shivani is not able to develop these leads to a conclusive correction with the Monster having the audacity to visit her home in her absence and vandalise her belongings.

There are three main character playing the role of senior cops, Saxena the DGP, Shivani the SP and Shekhawat the Deputy SP. Shekhawat does not see eye to eye with Shivani and on the first given opportunity bares all before the media with little knowledge of the crime that has taken place and leads that are yet to be gauged/established. The man who replaced the vendor running a tea stall opposite the Kota Police Station and serving tea to the assembled police force is again the Monster and his lefty acts go unnoticed. Scenes are in multiples where the Monster comes in direct contact with Shivani and yet the latter fails to gauge the assault and arsenal of the perpetrator. It is only by chance that when Monster having injured himself and taking this alibi comes within the striking distance of being hit by her car is when Shivani realises that this person is none other than the famed assaulter. Here as well he gives her slip and vanishes into river. There are instances of intelligence network of the police department not up to the mark and to retrieve the missing links there is quid pro quo as Shivani is only able to get to the root of the crime against journo by getting consignment cleared of a diamond merchant languishing for long in customs department who in return spills the bean on who gave orders to carry out journo's murder. Here Her upright template comes in for questioning but given the circumstances where there are no clues she is left with little choice.

Kota is the place where the crimes of sexual onslaught play out in entirety and Monster's trademark is snatching the mobile of a person known to the victim and henceforth telling them that he is in possession of mobile of the man they knew who has met with an accident and he would give them ride to the hospice where he is recuperating. Women fell for his pranks and occasionally subjects them to his dirty acts. The script doesn't gel with the reality as Monster having enough comfort level with his sexual and physical invasions is hard for police to lay their hands on. Monster running wild till the very end is a reflection on police force as there are enough occasions when juniors take pot shots at their seniors in their absence. Reflexes by Shivani is to watch out for as she is neither weighty nor lean and in between plays her character on occasions with adorable innovation. Large number of sessions in gym would have made her fighting fit and in the end when she zeroes in on the Monster she lets her rage cross all hurdles with no brevity thrown in.

Grilled by a media guy on Kadwe Sawal (Tough Questions) programme on a news channel Shivani loses no opportunity to tell that it is men in society who need to be shown the mirror and why blame or question women when it comes to they returning home late after putting in long hours at work or taking the law and order assignment which for long has been the preserve of one gender. The men by and large can't digest the fact that a woman too can take a call on crimes taking place at various places in India and can don a cop's role with ingenuity.  Despite juniors taking umbrage at Seniors SP Shivani is divined to come to their rescue and occasionally asks them to take leave when festive occasion is on.

The movie opens with a fair taking place in the city of Kota in Rajasthan State in India and climaxing at a spot where Festival Diwali celebrations are on. The movie is little over 100 minutes and should serve as a benchmark for women police officers that patience is key to success and also motivate families across India to send their daughters to police force. Women at best would be able to serve well by functioning at Senior Level; the junior mantle would be tad different and not free from graft. As for womenfolk they are on most of the occasions upright and need to be given respect for the intelligence quotient they bring on the table.

The visit to Delhi Cantt Railway Station on a Friday

The visit to Delhi Cantt Railway Station

It was on a  Friday i decided to visit Delhi Cantt Railway Station. While walking to the bus stand i came across Mr Surendra who makes his ends meet by dispensing pigeon feed. As usual he was at his best. A man of simple nature and simple deeds. Reached Nauroji Nagar bus stand and boarded a bus number 724 at 1 pm. Mr Ajeet Kumar was the bus conductor who was kind enough to give me change and broached on subjects as varied as free travel to women in DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) buses to those availing pass to make their travel more comfortable. At South Campus bus stand a large number of students boarded the bus and it was choc-a-block with passengers. There was a caution thrown around as far as women safety was concerned. There was a message in the bus to not misbehave with women passengers. There are marshals in the bus. That reminded one of air marshals taking their seats in planes and how sincere and adept (capable) they were at their task, primarily meant to thwart any hijacking or untoward incident. They better not be drunk and be alert to the proceedings.

Reached Delhi Cantt Railway Station at 1.37, Janak Setu is the bus stand for this station which is on a flyover. Mind you enough repairs have been carried on this flyover at different points of time. How steady is the structure not known. Having deboarded i set out in search for tea and tea vendor whom i met in early part of this year. I was not able to trace him and it was Mr Naresh Kumar who ran a tea stall opposite Paytm payments bank. This tea vendor was kind enough to hand over a set of black tea.

While crossing tracks came across a sole engine bearing number 16773. The station had a modern look as far as the place from where platform tickets are dispensed. The system was down and it took over 10 minutes before tickets could be dispensed. It was Ms Rupinder Kaur who handed over ticket and there was another woman who went by the name Ms Yamini.

The screen that radiated the timings of different trains was functioning and what all i could gather was the following. 09731 Jaipur Delhi Cantt Special arrived on PF (Platform) 1 at 1.20 pm, Delhi-Rajkot Express arrived at 1.37, Ala Hazrat Express arrived at 1.44 on PF 2, 19407 Ahmedabad Varanasi Express arrived at 1.57 on PF 2 (it has four set of AC coaches as well as Deen Dayalu coach), 14545 Farukhnagar Shahranpur Express arriving at 2.12 on PF 2. Delhi-Rewari Passenger arriving on PF 1 at 2.20, Delhi Jaipur Express departure at 3 pm, 12916 Ashram Express arriving at 3.48 on PF 1, 12066 Jan Shatabdi Express arriving at 4.30 on PF 1.

As one enters PF 1 there are new sets of seats/benches, more passenger friendly. The platform is squeaky clean.

The LED screen that are positioned at different places has enough messages concerning the common man. Be a part of Railways' Journey To Eliminate Corruption. Do not tolerate any type of corrupt practice. How much the common man adheres to this necessity/rule is not known. The screen lays emphasis on UTS on Mobile (Book paperless ticket through UTS Mobile app) . The steps six in all are as follows
- Download the app
- Go to app and register yourself
- Recharge your R wallet
- Book Ticket
- Select
- Show Ticket

Another message is on Dawn of a Swachh Bharat With A Clean Railway Journey. As i am supposed to leave the station i come across a large number of passengers boarding train number 74003 from Delhi Junction to Rewari Junction. There are no less number of passengers wishing to board Delhi Jaipur Special which is standing at PF 3 and supposed to depart at 3 pm. There is a poster of Electricity Saving Week from Dec 7 to Dec 14. How much is procured and how much is saved is difficult to spell.

From Janak Setu i hailed an auto driven by Mr Vipin and the auto was at a breakneck speed which most passengers would not have desired. In under 30 minutes i was at my place. This visit to Delhi Cantt Railway Station happenned after nine months and over this period there was a makeover which one could identify with.

The Visit To Delhi Cantt Railway Station That Did Not Come About

The Visit To Delhi Cantt Railway Station That Did Not Come About

As i was all prepared to visit Delhi Cantt Railway Station, the freak weather halted my movement and brought in dollops of hesitation. The visit did not happen and and with no knowledge of trains that were to depart from this station it was time to look at the sky and ponder on a sector invigorated as aviation. There were reports by one news channel about 10 days ago that one airline was operating with malfunctioning engines and this could engineer a split in the airlines rank with enough spots in airports which could see parking of tanks. The aforementioned visit not having taken place it was appropriate to reflect on Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) which was passed in a tearing hurry with none having written their WILL. As CAB was passed by India's Upper House, the agitators in North East part of India wanted their net connections restored so that they could browse. As Opposition said the passage marks a dark day and violation of Article 14 of constitution, the govt of the day wanted the North East people to learn the nuances of Bill and take the aforementioned tuition.

CAB is against The Idea Of India as speakers after speakers from Opposition camp slammed the Bill something that was passed with unnecessary zeal and will. The point to be noted is over 70 per cent of residents of North East haven't had the occasion to write their WILL and CAB is all out to give them a session of grill. North East is on a boil and hope normalcy returns to the place as residents are under curfew on their own soil. IUML (Indian Union Muslim League) and other parties have decided to file petition against CAB in Supreme Court as this was the very Court that struck down strictures passed by public at large on demonetisation starch. How weighty would be the argument in Court against CAB is not known, what is known is that law and order issue if it festers for long in the North East as some rationalists fear would make the entire region disturbed and thereby making it difficult for men, women and children to bear. No one can take away your rights is how the top leader of ruling party of India assured the residents of Assam with a bid to assuage their apprehensions perhaps the festering tension a reflection on ebb of once great nation.

The slow GDP growth is another issue hitting the headlines perhaps it won't be a spoiler in the long term as people can ill afford to be glum. AS the economy starts picking up - when and where no one knows - with perhaps signs of tumultuous times set aside, the economic revival would make a large number recall a tablet to keep vigour going necessarily called revital. This revival could still take considerable time given the non sighting of green shoots and parts of country administered by those with raging boots. As for Karnataka Juggernaut in Karnataka State in South India with the right wing party having won 12 of 15 seats in the just concluded polls, the hurry to declare your son a successor is a tale with enough holes. Dynasty Dynasts in South India would have to battle it out as public by and large are miffed with politicos and their brethren and want steady and not speedy development with least seedy denouement. As we get splashed with an ad of Be a New Yorker For A Month in New York Times, this is one paper that is truly read by those including the likes of Hawker.  Would Off the Cuff on NDTV news channel win enough audience is difficult to tell as India is a nation that is greying fast and with enough sighting of rill.

Best wishes to NDTV News Channel Staff Members, CNN News 18 Staff Members. Anchor Mr Zakka Jacob and his Face Off on CNN News 18 News Channel is not to be seen these days.

Passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill Amid Fierce Protests In North East India

Passage of Citizenship Amendment Bill Amid Fierce Protests In North East India

Amid fierce protests Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed by Lower House (Lok Sabha) and this showed how certain was the quantum of grouse. Discriminatory and discomfort was the in thing, the plea to shelve CAB was the reigning theme. From speeches to spartan lifestyle all was evident as Lok Sabha was debating CAB knowing fully well the Treasury Benches were not an army of truncated glee. It was not shelved and not scaled down, the volley of protests did not won the crown.

Critics called it a major blow to India's spirit of pluralism, it was one Bill that fell short of far sighted vision. Disenchantment was all around as far as Opposition went, the Bill had tidings that those who would be persecuted were not land owners and one who were essentially paying monthly rent. Backers of the Bill called its passage in Lower House as masterpiece something that won't keep followers of one religion and their movement freeze. Govt managers vouched that by its passage it did not by any bit violated Article 14, 21 and 25 of constitution and the Bill was designed to give citizenship to religiously persecuted non muslim refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh without any hesitation.

Protests broke out in the North East part of India with picketing of roads and burning of tyres as this Bill was not meant to douse the raging discrimination and fires. Against 80, 311 votes fell for its passage, as innumerable TV Honchos in the dead of night could be seen taking bytes from politicos with their modern gadgets. Apprehensions are that this CAB would open floodgates for NRC (National Register of Citizens) to be applied across country, something that would halt the movement of trains that essentially carry a car called pantry. NRC is out and out discriminatory and it creates divisions across society and this persuasive-cum-pervasive tactics should not be applied across India as the nation is not ready for an experiment that excludes the rights of men, women and resources like ria.

There are more urgent tasks before the govt, as the recent factory fire in the heart of Delhi showed the callousness of the authorities and this indifferent nature inviting their share of critics. Audit on immediate basis needs to be carried out across residential colonies where factories are functioning and if such is the case it needs to be shut down with effective baton and battery.

As for CAB debate in Upper House (Rajya Sabha) six hours have been allotted with enough battle on hand for Opposition to secure in their PC enough RAM. Its critics would say this Bill undermines basic democratic tenet of India as a country and paves way for discrimination with no surprise and hesitation.

Visiting Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi

Visiting Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi

Wednesday was the day when i decided to visit Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in the vicinity of which you won't find any academy tied to aviation. I walked all the way to Sarojini Nagar Metro Station from where i boarded metro towards Sarai Kale Khan Nizamuddin Station. The seats were all occupied giving ample proof of passengers flanked by an attire that was out out white. The stations that came on the way were INA, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri and Ashram in the city of Delhi knowing fully well where i was supposed to deboard to meet a person who went by the name Kelly.

Having exited from Sarai Kale Khan side of Nizamuddin Station, the path to station was a throwback to a period when cycle rickshaws intermingled with other modes of transport which offered enough hope. As walking space was little with different vendors occupying road with enough wares to fiddle, the search for ticket vending machine was a result of interaction with a person who had Andhra Pradesh State initiation. The ticket vending machine was not working with enough to rue of the time that would be consumed by standing in a queue. In Station there was no filthy language employed as it usually occurs in the vicinity of your place of residence by those who claim to be department men in plain clothes and ready to block your net connection and ready to engage in abuse fire despite greying of their hair and rose.

With a platform ticket in hand i set out for Platform (PF) Number Seven that was choc-a-block with passengers and vendors as if it was their safe haven. Announcements were being made for different trains with Mangla Express from Ernakulam via Bhusaval arriving on PF Seven, Mahakaushal Express arriving on PF Six with portion of station needing immediate repairs and fix. Ujjain Express which was supposed to depart had been cancelled for the day with Ramakrishna Mission Book Stall very much in the platform fray. At 1.48 Sachkhand Express passed through Nizamuddin Station at a speed that was difficult to beat. On PF Seven there was a multipurpose stall with most passengers hooked to smatphone/mobile and were in no mood to engage in a session of brawl. As Mahakaushal Express pulled in it had engine from Lalaguda, Utkal Express arriving on PF Two with some passengers aspiring to fight away their flu/blues.

In Comesum the food junction i came across a group led by Mr Om Prakash from Maharashtra who rolled out names of different places in this Western State which had a new combine/govt in office and where Cabinet expansion could wait. Having taken black tea not sprinkled with sugar it was time to revisit PF Seven where Goa Express to Vasco Da Gama was stationed to depart at three with enough passengers radiating glee. Some AC (Air Conditioned) coaches of Goa Express were destined for Hubbali, a place which i visited over a year ago and came across some who wanted to avoid Delhi Heat and wish to Flee. Andaman Express from Jammu Tawi to Chennai was coming at 2.28 pm and it had among its passengers some officiating as GM (General Manager). As i heard Hirakud Express from Vishakapatnam to Amritsar arriving on PF 3 there was one Mr Tenzing going to Bengaluru hailing from Himachal State in India where mobile operators who have been in business for over 10 to 20 years having raised tariff after having received the nod from a Member of a Group named Cree. This raise in mobile tariff was unwarranted and unjustified and no Govt of the day could set this wrong right. I Heard Someone Say This Readership Ladder Summit of Tethering Individuals Would Be A Script of Shrinking Casuals As It Is A Summit of Scamsters/Looters Ready To Severe All Ties With Tutors.

On PF Seven i came across horde of TTEs (Travelling Ticket Examiners) dispensing seats with receipt at will, this handsome righteous path would always gel. The commotion at the station and unfolding platforms was by no means unnerving, this visit to station premises had no spells of jerking. As i left the station to head towards Sarai Kale Khan metro station, it was put in black and white the message that you are under surveillance as India The Nation has enough layers of patience.

The ride to Nizamuddin Station was filled with hope with enough clarity on who won't slide from career slope. As i got out of Metro at S N Station i met Mr Mawiahante the football coach and Mr Amos the player from Manipur a state which had least seen spell of President's Rule.

Why we desist from visiting Mussoorie?

Why we desist from visiting Mussoorie?

I visited Mussoorie at a time when builder ran an army of abusive men and went on untamed spell of torture and set their sight on an individual. This builder is out and out goon and all those in the vicinity are ready to croon. His SUVs come out only when i step out, his men have unending spell of clout to which cops lend a helping hand to engage in misadventure and bout. Hail these criminals.

Assault On A Woman Doctor In Telangana State in South India Is An Illustration Of Unruly Times We Live In

Assault On A Woman Doctor In Telangana State in South India Is An Illustration Of Unruly Times We Live In

The assault on a woman doctor in Telangana State in South India is a repeated reminder of uncertain times we live in. No secure surroundings and no safe haven as far as womenfolk goes is all that the youngest State in South India inherited after it was bifurcated from Andhra Pradesh State. Had the cops been less casual in their approach the assault would not have occurred in the first place. The perpetrators had the gall to not only sexually assault the doctor residing in Telangana, they went on to set her on fire.

Uncivilised territories show uncivilised behaviour and men during their upbringing with tons of depravity thrown in is a lot to do with their unruly conduct. And not having been sensitised they lodge attack on women of different age group now and then. The assault shows how little the menfolk care about women and how the latter haplessly fall victim to their evil designs - and none come to their rescue even if they are in the vicinity of the attack.

And here we have politicos and cops on whose security millions in cash is dumped in each month taking refuge in the fact that woman doctor should have established contact by dialling number 100 instead of calling her sister or setting her scooter with a flat tyre fixed. Cops are busy in garnering easy money (IPS is a shameless gathering of uncivilised merchants/men who can't rein in their juniors who are always unresponsive in their conduct as far as crime goes; they go to even that far to block your net connection from smartphone or Jio as they have access to your username and password), politicos are busy in installing one govt with a dash of tantrum thrown in and women are all by themselves as far as their well being and security goes. In every household whenever a child is born especially a boy he needs to be initiated into an orientation where showing respect for women of varying age group and diverse background should be the hallmark of his existence. Brethren of CAs in some colonies of the prime city throw parties in the dead of night even when they have read about this assault a day or two earlier and take pleasure in the fact that rock music at a high pitch would be welcomed by one and all. Mind you you are setting the stage for barbarism to chip in.

In cities and towns of India millions are spent by affordable households in purchasing expensive cars and pulsating homes notwithstanding the social upheaval that is rocking the state now and then. They care two hoots about assault on women in remote corners of country like India and spend billions in throwing lavish parties marking their inauguration into adulthood. There is a lavish spread as far as wedding goes and no stone is left unturned to make it a grand show. You can't hail this tribe and shame to those who make wedding a grand affair despite pleas by citizens concerned to keep it simple. The liquor vends that exist at every nook and corner of the country and the videos of sexual connotations that they can access on their mobiles is a steady platform for them to engage in sexual misconduct and stooping to a low that any civilised society would be ashamed of.

Hindi Film Industry and Indian Film Industry and the sexual charm they take by featuring filthy jokes in the movies to win mass appeal should be done away with. Unless the pompous cities and towns of India do away with lavish lifestyles by throwing bash now and then the assault on women and the enormity with which it takes place would be difficult to rein in.

Some news channels take this as a challenge of reporting the breach in security of a politico in What's Trending knowing fully well this does not gel well with the sentiment prevailing in the country. Respect a girl when she is born, hail her inauguration into childhood with a dash of  positive sentiment thrown in, hail her entry into adulthood with charm and respect her dignity all through her life. A Woman Of Today Is A Woman Of Tomorrow who has equal and every right to see the Next Day, Next Month, Next Year, Next Decade and Next Century.

Post Floor Test And Post Resignations In Maharashtra State In India

Post Floor Test And Post Resignations In Maharashtra State In India

Post floor test order and post spate of resignations by those wearing shawl if not sweater, dust finally settled down on which combine is going to form govt, the Maharashtra saga had enough commentators to comment. Longevity of Govt is not known, 43 to 45 would be sworn in or spread over a period of time with some attending as Guests from city of Rome.

As Guests would be flown in supersonic jets, any decision taken in haste would have to rest. The stage on which the swearing in is to take place in Shivaji Park should be Rock Solid, it should not give in to multiple contradictions and Nereid. Rural infrastructure they wish to push forward knowing fully well the ruralfolk on what they do and where they dwell. Restraint has to be shown by combine partners as they are treading on a path where their wish to take DELHI SEAT by storm would call for reservoir of support from the likes of King Kong. The Battle For Delhi is still four-and-a-half-year away, showing restraint would make them look less likely with feet of clay.

As we get bombarded with advertisements on direct flights from Delhi to Tel Aviv, we think of days when we would  have innumerable stories to fire from Delhi Fief.

Maharashtra: Floor Test Order Or No Order Uncertainty Won't Shrink Even By A Quarter

MAHARASHTRA: Floor Test Order Or No Order Uncertainty Won't Shrink Even By A Quarter

Eighty minutes hearing in Supreme Court Fort could not bring out Floor Test order and with no certainty on who all could avail the assembled fodder. As we keenly awaited order on Floor Test it smacked of no less than some students nursing grievance and skipping the school test. A ORDER on Floor Test is the need of the hour as unstoppable and unbelievable are efforts underway for horse trading shower. Mind you horse trading can take place on either side as the groom has refused to run with the bride. Whichever govt goes and whichever comes, unstable would be its contour and the defining rule.

Fisticuffs broke out in Lower House (Lok Sabha) of India and roads were filled with protesters precisely flown from Croatia. Croatia menfolk maintained Floor Test Fodder Order should have come on Monday as they were running out of patience to wait till Nov 30 which is a Saturday. Some could be seen holding placards in Indian Parliament premises protesting the Maharashtra Governor invite knowing fully well their shirts were tucked in with pants that were extremely and unbearably tight. The majority mark in this Western State of India is 145 with the full knowledge in public domain who all are keen to link to cash thrive. From Hotels Hyatt to Hilton members have been parked in parking lot and from there they would be airlifted on trust vote day after taking bath.

As fisticuffs and face off were visible in Indian Parliament's Lower House, the Legislative Assembly of Maharashtra was something that netizens decided to browse. Marshals have already been placed at Gates of Maharashtra Assembly as they are in the know of things that some members post trust vote may have to be airlifted to Kolkata to play a sport called cricket with the likes of Ganguly. As Tuesday comes and stay still we hope the Supreme Fort would give Floor Test Order and post this order barricades would have to be placed at Maharashtra-Karnataka border.

In the line up one can visualise fisticuffs breaking out in innumerable news channels firmament as anchors would be tired enough of conducting proceedings without a break in premises that see sky high rent. A Floor Test Order or No Order, uncertain would be the tenure of Maharashtra House located in a city which has enough irritants in the name of mouse. At one stage uncountable mouse had to be evicted from Maharashtra House and this time round the city is playing host to a melodrama that has enough actors with experience in varied sectors. A fresh mandate with a fresh polls would break the logjam, this is one State that has enough Tablets with enough ram. Hold polls, hold it in one go, the staggered proceedings makes the voters desire to exercise franchise cold.

RB Global Challenge 2019 - National Finale on NDTV on Nov 24 was something to watch out for. Team from SIBM Pune and Team Mentalist -ISB Hyderabad took the honours.

We The People on NDTV News Channel on Sunday evinced interest. The Surrogacy Bill that has been passed by Lok Sabha should be shelved and it should not be brought in Rajya Sabha. One way or the other Commercial Surrogacy gives something to women who find it hard to make their ends meet. It gives them some income that comes handy and this right should not be taken away from them.

Maharashtra Muscle: Hold polls afresh to douse political wildfire and stress

Maharashtra Muscle: Hold polls afresh to douse political wildfire and stress

The political tussle unfolding in Maharashtra State in Western India calls for deployment of ammunition that has least repulsive nature of enduring hate. One combine has hatred against other and so on and so forth and this is all because of less casting of vote. Had there been high turnout of voters when polls were underway in the State we would not have been witness to some going back on their promise to stick together and some combine being stonewalled and shown the Gate.

The way the MLAs (elected representatives of Maharashtra State) are being loaded in buses and packed in hotel rooms may let some entertain this thought that money can still prove decisive in giving one combine a boom. Least likely that any govt that is formed would last long as they would be short of numbers (defections can happen at any time and any place) and miles away from having popcorn. Hotels are full, buses are booked, resorts are inviting cool is the developing story from Maharashtra which got separated from Gujarat more than 55 years ago after having a major slice of ice cream Cassata. One political Cavalcade leaves the hotel with large sets of cars of different shapes and sizes, and another Cavalcade moves in and this precisely shows the money that politics brings in. Shame to these Political Cavalcades whose expensive cars only goes on to show how much they have milked the State and how they want to seal the State Fate.

The best way to break this logjam is to have President's Rule again and henceforth hold polls afresh and not let aforementioned govt rust. Once elections are held afresh and voters show sentiment of crush, the poll verdict would be decisive mirroring least signs of political stress. This political saga from this State in India shows appropriately and repeatedly the demeaning nature of politics in our country where money and muscle power rule the roost as if they are here for a movie shoot. News Channels are reportedly pleading for byte; newspapers are on a political flight and innumerable flight ticket tantrums would be thrown in before a stable govt zing in.

Political Dynasts invite innuendos and here in as well Dynasts are out to rock the boat. It is shameful to see the political tenants play out in full public view knowing fully well this would earn them recall mileage among electorate forgetting the impulsive nature of public that desists the procession built on money power and on a slate.  These expensive cavalcade of politicos won't come handy and a day would come when public would sneer and snatch their lust for power and brandy.

Speaking to people in Guruvayur on landline and that largely illustrates they are in pink of health and fine; Listening to SEAL - Stand By Me; Watching Al Jazeera Channel beamed from Qatar

As i speak to  people in Guruvayur located in Kerala State in India i am reminded about my stay for almost a week more than three years ago. It was a time when i visited Chennai, Rameswaram (Lord Ramanathaswamy Temple), Madurai (Meenakshi Amman Temple) and  Kanniyakumari (Goddess Kanniyakumari Temple) before reaching Guruvayur. From Kanniyakumari i took a train that left around 10.30 in the morning and reached Thrissur around eight in the night. From Thrissur i took a late night train, the time taken to reach Guruvayur was a little over 30 minutes.

In Guruvayur i stayed in different tourist homes like Brahmaputra, Aishwarya Tourist Homes. From the city of New Delhi i am in touch with Mr Rama, Mr Jiji, Mr Bose of CA Tower, Mr Gopal Krishnan, Mr Soman of Aishwarya Tourist Home, Mr Vishwanath of Brahmaputra Tourist Home,  Mr Krishna Kumar, Ms Sobha of Rugmini Tourist Home, Mr Nandu, Mr Joshy, Ms Reshma, Ms Seeja, Mr Prajeet and Mr Venkatesh. It was a visit that saw me pay obeisance to Lord Guruvayur on three different occasions.

The stay also gave me an opportunity to visit Chavakkad beach and Elephant Sanctuary, both places not that far from Guruvayur Temple. The phone conversation from Delhi reveals the weather is fine with occasional downpour in Guruvayur.

Watching We The People on NDTV Channel beamed from New Delhi

While watching We The People on NDTV on Sunday, "No Solution to Pollution" featured Ms Sukaina Zaidi a third year Delhi University Student who distributes masks to auto drivers for free. She manages this from her pocket money. In the same programme we had Mr Jai Prakash who spelt success with measures to arrest pollution by leading an army of workers who segregate waste -- dry and not-so-dry -- and instill this message among public that after all this is upon ourselves to fight this menace as leaders are shameless enough to travel abroad on public money and quarrel as if they are here for eternity.

The programme also featured a range of young activists who laid out a roadmap inculcating a series of measures that if put to action can make the air that we breathe safe and not toxic. This programme should be watched by politicos on whom millions are spent on their travel and security and they take a lesson from it.

Watching Mazhavil Manorama Channel the Grand Finale Fete was praiseworthy.

How Virginia Turned Solid Blue should entail the interest of Indians

How Virginia Turned Solid Blue as reported in NYT made interesting reading. Essentially enlisting the foray that Democrats are making into Republicans stronghold.

Guns and Goons is something that residents are concerned about and how this should be nipped in the bud is a question that remains largely unanswered.

At another level, Virginia as reported in the paper is a land of Indian Grocery Stores, Diwali Festivals and Korean Churches. At present, One in 10 eligible to vote is born outside the US as against One in 28 in 1990. The influx of immigrants paved way for Democrats upswing and just 64 per cent of the population is white.

From my side what i can envisage is that A Wave is coming and that is out to sweep the entire nation.

Kudos to Supreme Court for breaking the impasse on Ayodhya. Kudos to Hindus and Muslims as well

Kudos to Supreme Court for possibly breaking the impasse on Ayodhya if no new hurdles show up. Kudos to Hindus and Muslims as well for keeping hope of peace and tranquility afloat.

Hope things move forward with all communities on the same page. This verdict should pave the way for different communities to breathe easy and get the aforementioned Lord Ram Temple in the same place and get the newly crystallised Mosque in the same town of Ayodhya. If five acres as notified by the court is not found prudent enough for Mosque the same land can be used for setting up a hospital or educational institute by Muslim Community. Muslims have by and large shown acres of patience and hats off to them and hope they sail with the same sentiment. Hope peace thrive with thrice force/sentiment all across the country with all including minorities sailing through.

Swearing in in Karnataka State on a Friday

Swearing in in Karnataka State on a Friday

As leader BSY in Karnataka State was sworn in for the fourth time with the images relayed in 6' o clock news prime, the motive for Govt formation was cloaked in a web of secrecy as public read the path ahead was not that easy. Political pundits were fumbled, the central leadership by no means humbled, this swearing in of BSY for second time in 15 months betrayed signs of his being tense. Howsoever hard he may try to win the trust vote the imprint of an unstable govt hanging by a thread was something easy to boast. What looks enviable are polls which may happen under a year or two, by that time the leader would be able to fight away chair blues.

Karnataka the State with more than 20 districts and thousand talukas need to be governed by a strong leader with a flourishing mandate and a will to perform with no enduring wait. The Speaker of Karnataka House has been polished enough to disqualify three of the 15 rebels hoping against hope that remaining 12 would return to their party fold.

Karnataka the State has been caught in a hotbed of uncertainty and what looks certain are big ticket decisions the Govt won't be able to take in. The State doesn't have the benefit of a large coastline in effect the maritime challenges are next to nil in a State with a low rate of crime. The upsurge of support for BSY may wane over months if he is not able to perform with his chums. The gravity of challenges may weigh him down, it is for BSY to employ deft skills to navigate through challenges while retaining the Crown.

The Central Leadership in a year or so would have a thing or two to do including convincing BSY to step aside and let another Lingayat Leadership spring a surprise. In the first place the Central Leadership should not have given a go ahead to BSY to stake claim as the State pored over the possibility of having President Rule with no one to blame. The oft-repeated solution of imposing Prez Rule would have been fine as the State was caught in a whirlwind of chaos and no shine.
The political churning in Karnataka mirrors opportunism at its best with those credited with this thunder not willing to reveal the size of their vest. A time would come when swearing in would take place by those sporting vest and that would be an act carried out in jest. From South America to South Asia all are alarmed by turn of events in the State, they root for political stability eschewing any form of bait.

As for rebels, which number 12 with no bubbles, they may be flown from Mumbai a city that receives showers more than in a place like Huawei post trust vote to explore the possibility of they again adorning the House Coat with expressions of Gloat. That looks dismal in Bengaluru which is far away from Indonesia's Buru.

None of the future govt in Karnataka would be safe from horse trading cushion and craze

None of the future govt in Karnataka would be safe from horse trading cushion and craze

After Opposition defeated trust vote in Karnataka House they immediately sought net connection where they could browse. Chief Minister tendered his resignation paving way for Opposition MLAs (BJP MLAs) to go on a vacation. They were expected to meet in a resort near Bengaluru where they could revisit their strategy and seek affection from places in Rajasthan as far as Churu. That meet did not happen and still doors were open to sneak in horse trading cushion. This trust vote discussion which carried on for four days was meant to send diatribe to opponents from either side and future of any probable Govt doesn't look to be bright. Though opposition MLAs post trust vote flashed V sign in a subtle message that won't be kind and those 15 rebel MLAs confined to Mumbai were getting desperate to reach Bengaluru and for this they had established connection to places like Kingsway. The roadmap of bringing down the HDK Govt in Karnataka was very much prepared in a locale like New Delhi with leaders like BSY, HDK and their family members watching every hour the House proceedings on a telly.

The reading is no future Govt would be safe and righteous path would be to hold polls afresh as that alone can dilute the power stress. On another hand in another blooper the US has offered to mediate on J-K something that Indian policy makers in the long run won't find OK. On J-K impasse India never offered an olive branch to US as the latter has on Afghanistan intervention shed enough sweat and tears. The US is finding it hard to find a way out of Afghanistan which in future at a different point of time would hold film festival on the lines of Cannes.

Overseas bond sale move should be abandoned at any cost

The Govt's plan to raise $ 10 billion in first overseas bond sale by October is fraught with deep consequences and the Govt would be well advised to not seek this traction to raise capital. The domestic debt burden can rise by miles if there is a vast depreciation in Indian Rupee against  the currency in which the debt is denominated and given the sovereign guarantee it would have to be repaid no matter where the earth moves.

Churning in Karnataka's political landscape; there is none like MSD

Churning in Karnataka's political landscape; there is none like MSD

As Speaker dragged his feet on floor test in Karnataka House trust vote or no vote, the state is headed towards chaos and long series of confabulations. If Cong-JD(S) coalition fumbles and fails to win the trust vote as and when it happens, the spotlight would shift to Governor's office asking the single largest party to stake claim to form Govt - and this would be second time when BJP would be asked to form a govt. Beleaguered  legislators, impatient BJP and Cong-JD(S) in no hurry to rush through the trust vote. Last time round the BJP Govt was given 48 hours to prove its mettle in Assembly and just before motion was put to vote the Chief Minister put in his papers. That case was seen as Judicial Overreach when from 15 days the Supreme Court gave the Govt 48 hours to prove it had numbers in the House. If Cong-JD(S) coalition falls prey to coalition pangs and pressure the best course would be to hold polls afresh rather let single largest party take another shot at govt formation. One way or the other the State is headed towards polls even if BJP forms govt it won't have carte blanche for long.
There has been elaborate reporting on churning in Karnataka' political landscape by NDTV News Channel.

As i flipped through pages of HT which had a story by Shiv Sunny on the best police station in India in Kalu in Rajasthan State, days are not far when these very stations would actually resemble political stations with mikes being hurled and paper balls being thrown as two contesting parties waiting in the wings would prefer to take their dispute to these stations. The story by Shiv Sunny spoke about the police station equipped with a waiting room and air coolers.

There was another story on leading cricketer M S Dhoni and irrelevant queries/posers to him as it meant to trample his right to stay in 50 over format of the game. At 38, he can still be a reliable force when he turns 42 and his adaptive skills coming handy for Team India. The flavour of the season is MSD and his skills that could rub hard on opponents and their much-famed strategy. Had MSD taken to Tennis his share of success at venues like Flushing Meadows would have been terrific. A measured innings from a player who comes to bat at number 8 what more you expect from a player of this genre. Though Team India would have flurry of wicket keepers waiting in the wings there can be no one like MSD.

There was another story on Central Delhi being 99 per cent rain deficit. If this story soars to the headline it is primarily to do with the fact that water trains would become a reality in a country of a scale and size of India if water woes turn out to be perennial.

Belated Happy Birthday To Mr Tom Cruise and best wishes to him and his family members for decades to come. Best wishes to Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka and Gauff.

Rains in Delhi sufficient by no standards

Rains in Delhi sufficient by no standards; water crisis across continents

As rains lashed parts of Delhi which occasionally is witness to fight and fury, more than dollops of rain would be welcome even if it means keep running at alternate hours the water pump.  Rains have travelled to this city third time in a month not spread far and wide and that is not sufficient and enough to raise a grunt. A large part of this city would run out of water by 2020 and that would leave millions as hapless entity. We need to conserve water. From South America to North America, from Africa to South East Asia and South Asia millions crave to get a drop/glass of water and if this issue is not addressed on an urgent basis water mafia would be seen providing a quantum as big as quarter.

At another level, cases of Road rage is more than occasionally seen in the city of Delhi where millions are spent to snatch hours of being witty. A city on a short fuse and where some affordable men in tandem with officials milk the system to get the clues, the giant strides to corporation offices by men of cautious nature doesn't yield success and it is only men of stature that can be heard and their files disbursed and they imaginatively fight away their blues. If corporation offices could keep a digital record of the taxes paid that would be enough to not earn ire of public who make rounds and rounds of these offices repeatedly and there would be few willing to wage a battle of bait.

A rain deficit nation is staring at a colossal loss of acres of land that could be put to use to farming, it is farmers and their plight that one should not lose sight. Rain deficit is worrisome and equally worrisome is the drought spectre across country, the country can ill afford a poor monsoon and prayers on the lips should be a monsoon that should cover the entire nation at will and soon. It is evil sense that drive contemporary managers to hold T- 20 cricket event in stadiums which fall under areas that are under spell of drought and that displays their amassing clout. Millions are spent on organising extravaganza like cricket world cup, little thought is paid to those who don't have access to water what to talk of filling their tub. Why waste money to raise a cup fever when nations at large and across spectrum have millions who go to bed unfed and this plight should be clearly understood and not culled.

Meeting different set of people in the city of Delhi

Meeting different set of people in the city of Delhi

Umpteen times i have been to MCD office in Dwarka and umpteen times i have had interactions with umpteen number of people. The other day i met automan Mr Musharraf which reminded me of Pakistan leadership which at one point of time was led by leader of same namesake. It was automan Mr Shyam babu and Mr Ramji Singh at MCD office in South Zone which brought cheers and i cherished the moment when i came across them.

Meet Mr Omar Khan who is related to Mr Inayat Khan cold drinks vendor at Sarojini Nagar. Meet Mr Nikhil from Dorbi in Darjeeling who is out for an interview for Vistara Airlines a Joint Venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. Meet Mr R D Chowdhary. While coming from South West Delhi the other day i meet Mr Harihant who is going to pursue a course from Delhi Technical University which was earlier known as Delhi College of Engineering. We discuss about some students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) unable to clear their internal exams and what dogged the Indian education system as infallible reporting by Indian Express the daily suggested. Meet Automan Mr Sohralal. Meet fruit vendor Mr Kalua. Meet automan Mr Jagdish Madan who has tales to tell about the city of Delhi and how the city has outmanoeuvred the permutations and combinations over a period of time. Meet Mr Jai Singh at Sarojini Nagar Metro Station who is kind enough to dispense token.

Meet Ms Ritika who is a student in South Campus of Delhi University and she is seen flipping through the pages of The Hindu the newspaper. According to her this paper is widely read by students of North Campus of Delhi University even though Hindustan Times and Times of India are leading dailies of the city. Meet Mr Mohammad Shabir automan who is kind enough to give ride from Sarojini Nagar to Safdarjung Enclave. Meet automan Mr Awdesh Kumar. Meet Mr Gupta who is at xerox centre in Dwarka. Meet Mr Rajkumar who is plying e-rickshaw in South West Delhi. Meet automan Mr Sonpal, meet automan Mr Upendar from Muzaffarpur in Bihar. This place was in the news for the very reason that the State Government was finding it hard to contain Encephalitis which is normally associated with inflammation of the brain. At present by Grace of God it seems to be under control. There is another viral infection going by the name Japanese Encephalitis which is ravaging the State of Assam in India. Hope it is brought under control.

Meet Mr Jung Bahadur from Nepal who has been in India for a pretty long time. Meet Mr Ashok Kumar in Safdarjung Enclave Post Office and Mr Ram Niwas who is kind enough to send money order to Mr Rauf Hussein in Ajmer in Rajasthan State in India. Meet Mr Kailash, Mr Kaushal in State Bank of India in Safdarjung Enclave. Meet Mr Suyo Gupta in HDFC Bank and Mr Akhand Pratap Singh who also reports for work at the same place. Meet automan Mr Chandeshwar. Meet Mr Mussadi Lal at Janakpuri District Centre in New Delhi. Meet Mr Gupta. Meet automan Mr Avnish Kumar, automan Mr Pyarelal, meet automan Gyan Chand, meet automan Mr Jitendar, meet postman Mr Subhash.

The other day at Bhikaji Cama Place i am blessed to come across Mr Bahadur who is kind enough to guide me to HDFC Life Office. Here in the office Mr Ashish Ranjan is kind enough to do the paperwork.

Poised for a total that was not inescapable, Cricket Team India was tottering at 5 for 2 and at 24 for 4 they never looked to be in the game. Having lost early wickets to some depth bowling by the Kiwis, Team India had unenviable task on hand - and it called for innings of insurmountable feat. This was how the World Cup Campaign progressed and ended despite some fierce batting by middle order. Though Indian seamers had restricted Kiwis to a chaseable total and from there the onus was on batsmen to cross the fence. They should have applied their mind while chasing a modest total with balls which required real pushing could be sent to the boundaries and difficult ones negotiated with aplomb.

For another day and for another World Cup, hope floats with prayers on the lips that top order to middle order would see us through and they won't fall like nine pins. The team that has set its sight on the World Cup should go about task with enough indulgences as far as depth bowling was concerned and enough synergy when it came to batting.

The Show We The People aired on NDTV Channel on July 7 on unplanned development of cities in India shows the policy makers are in for some big challenges and they all including us have to apply their mind and do some deft handling.

Our environment enmeshed in a battle of Guilt and Guile; the climate change that few lay thoughts on

The climate change that few lay thoughts on

The climate change is bound to reap bad harvest in the years to come what to talk about decades. The air conditioner that we put to use for hours turning to days, the PC that runs for unskilled hours, the car we drive to workplace with sole occupant inside it, the thrust we lay on modern gadgets and a disdain for a green course all of this contribute towards global warming. The unending flights across world with more passengers on board and a wish to hop on to multiple flights is doing no good to environment. The recurring drought with no sight of rain and floods in parts that are spared from drought are all reminiscent of a chapter we would have never cheered to read in our school days.

Seas are going to turn unpredictable every passing hour and more progressive outlook necessarily mirroring progress with change is bound to spew venom as environment despite standing tall and diligent won't be able to take this load and with this frequency.  A delayed monsoon, in some parts of India converting to a no monsoon, million acres of land lying parched, the people struggling to get even a bucket of water a day with reservoirs running empty and at the same time the flood cakes inundating new areas mirror a catastrophic change we the aspirational class has brought about with little thought on how we could save environment from getting enmeshed in a battle of guilt and guile.

A walk to workplace, a public transport system that unfurls craze, a Uber or Ola driven mindset that is undeniably postponed would be a better option than using and reusing fuel guzzling vehicles. Raising a toast to trees, vehicular pollution being kept at bay, visiting countryside that is untouched by modern carts of mischievousness  popularly labelled as frugal living. You have a departmental store here, a ATM outpost there, a gas station here and a health centre there repeatedly tried and tested by buildings of yo yo generation is all recipe for chaos to filter in and things to get worse with each passing minute. Spare a thought that some parts of Delhi would run out of water next year which is not distant and this is enough to raise hackles and hysteria. The water we waste each passing day, the water motor that runs for uncounted hours easily converting to a electricity bill that is mammoth and not minimal, the biggest government hospital (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) in the city of Delhi has in its vicinity shades of unpopular support given the high rise buildings that it has been knocked down with and trees running to thousand that were grazed to ground to raise these buildings shows how callous the King and his clan of the preceding years can become. They wish to repeat the same feat by bringing down thousands of trees in a government colony called Sarojini Nagar and raise high rise buildings to let temperatures rise and rise to untolerable limits.

The city landscape is dotted with stories of siege by water, education, sand and building mafia and cess that greets us at every stage and attempt is being made repeatedly to turn countryside to same cagey template. A TV set that runs for hours giving updates on a cricket score, a cricket match that is played in a stadium that has heaps of garbage once stands are vacated, a unipolar world where the sole superpower wishes to nail down an irritant (Iran) and holds back at the last minute as it stores the possibility of unrivalled catastrophe. A world where circle rates in colonies reign high, a civilisation that is fast losing link to every drop of potable water, a school building raised on the back of hefty school fees and a swimming pool that greets every housing complex leave enough individual to cringe. Those smitten by G- 20 summit should spare a though or two on whether this meet should have taken place in the first place and this summit should be held every two years as the money that is roasted in hosting leaders should well have been utilised for welfare measures.

A world where we are moving close to courting trouble every passing day, the less commercial we create a space the more liveable would be the world we chase.
Misogyny: From Cradle to workplace aired on NDTV channel stressed on the need to be sensitive to women and their surroundings.

Chennai Parched; Chennaites at receiving end

Chennai Parched; Chennaites at receiving end

There is scanty rainfall across country. Monsoon hasn't arrived at a number of places. One doesn't know for how long this situation would continue like this . As for Chennai city in South India, the water situation is pathetic to say the least. The various reservoirs in the city are on the brink of becoming bone dry. Name the reservoirs like Chola reservoir, Red Hills reservoir, Poondi reservoir, Cholavaram reservoir and Chambarambakkam reservoir and the impression that you get is that water can't be traced in any one of them. This is more to do with no desilting done in these reservoirs in the past 10 years and authorities indifference to the issue besides monsoon not coming in plenty. How can situation reach such a stage when Chennai was flooded knee deep less than two years ago?

The water supply in Chennai city is 750 million litres a day against demand of 950 million litres. As per CNN TV 18 news channel report water tankers are having a field day and rest assured people are paying through their nose. The tapping points of water tankers has increased by almost abnormal rate of 55 kms. The NDTV channel too reported on water scarcity in the city of Chennai extensively.

There is ample need for judicious use of water. There should be sagacious use of water. We hope Delhi and other parts of country don't go dry. The taps should not run dry and piped water supply should be in line with hefty charges that are paid for it. The sight that we come across of voluminous water being wasted in washing cars and SUVs in parking lot in Delhi makes one shudder perennially. In the reigning cricket world cup the theme should be on water and to reignite measures to conserve the same. Water is last connect to civilisation and water minus civilisation is a hallucinating thought.

As for Chennai one should not forget this is not a problem that came to gain attention overnight. The present Govt can't be faulted as it is a decade old problem. Dispensations in the past have not heeded to the advice of conservationists that we should not trample on with the fragile template of Western Ghats and the time is ripe to heed to their advice. Water is scarce and each one of us has the responsibility to see to it that there is optimum use of it with caution not thrown to the wind. Water we chase is the water we praise.

Release funds and send doctors/medical personnel in hundreds along with resources to fight Encephalitis on a war footing in Bihar State

The outbreak of Encephalitis in Bihar State should be fought on a war footing

Encephalitis which is normally associated with inflammation of the brain has spread far and wide in Bihar State. It is a viral infection and in rare cases it is caused by bacteria or even fungi.

The Bihar State Government and Central Govt should be taken to task for showing laxity in containing Encephalitis. In Muzaffarpur and beyond in Bihar State more and more children are coming in grip of Encephalitis thereby creating panic across health centres. Health centres in districts hit by Encephalitis are ill equipped to contain this disease. You have images coming in bounty of state administration's mishandling of the situation which led to spread of Encephalitis and a strong impression coming of state administration largely lying in tatters to address the issue.

There is an urgent need to send in hundreds of medical practitioners to districts of Bihar which are in grip of Encephalitis. Once these medical professionals are sent to Bihar they should get on with the task of attending to patients showing symptoms of Encephalitis or already in grip of it. This message should be driven home that clean and neat surroundings help in to build a strong immune system in an individual and especially for children neat surroundings are a must.

The Central Government should release funds immediately along with resources for districts hit by Encephalitis. A promise was made way back in 2014 that a self sufficient and well equipped govt hospital would come up in Muzaffarpur. That promise has not been met and time is ripe to build a well equipped govt hospital in Muzaffarpur and other districts hit by Enchephalitis. From The MP Local Area Fund and MLA Local Area Fund, money should be released immediately to provide for resources to contain Encephalitis. That is one way of getting over resource constraint issue.

Politicos for one need to show character this time who travel in expensive vehicles and enjoy fruits of power. Millions are spent on their security and their travel within country and abroad. Millions were spent in recent elections with no thought on those who go to sleep unfed. Where is the need for politicos to go to Wayanad or for G 20 summit when health crisis is staring you right in the face.
Here in metros of India people spend millions and millions to buy expensive vehicles every month with no though of what derails the 'real rural India' and the health system that is largely at the mercy of unresponsive govt.

Why waste money while running Parliament where no transactions take place for days together. It is important that money is disbursed through appropriate channels and resources built overnight to contain Encephalitis. If we are able to raise Healthy Indians with strong immune system we would be successful in raising Healthy India.

Health for all should be the priority of the Govt and criss crossing the country on public money should be done away with immediate effect. At another level, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme should be spread across length and breadth of the country along with the message that clean surroundings get you to a clean template all through your life.
