Winding airlines and Tamil script by Puneet Rajhans

Winding airlines and Tamil script by Puneet Rajhans

Some time back in Chennai while leaving for Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus the interaction with a gentleman who had boarded a Kingfisher flight from Bhubaneswar led to breaking of news which had not been broken on air so far on the ails that dogged this airlines and the ailments that management suffered and never reported to the authorities concerned. Stopping nothing short of suggesting winding up the airlines for the services it offered and disappeared with and the agony that visited the passengers who ever made a decision to board this airline.

This was a time when the airlines across board hadn't revealed their intent to jack up their air tariffs soon after Diwali as the traffic now is more than what they had anticipated on ground and air effectively suggesting prices have to go up and up. Fishing in more than desired troubled water, this Kingfisher has ruffled more than a few feathers, with the reasoning coming from their side that demand-supply mechanism would determine prices as has been the practice all over the world. Suggesting no relaxation can be exercised the liquor king wants relaxation as far as clearing airport dues is concerned.

Suggesting that DElhi-Shimla tariff would approximately come at Rs 10,833(Wednesday)it should be the preferred way to reach the destination given the amount of unaccounted wealth that floats in the society. On radar of Kingfisher is the right mix of people who have never revealed their income potential and repeatedly faced with limited avenues to blow up. Well one Raja has departed and it is time for this King to depart with all fishes he has on board.
The charts that different airlines have come out post DGCA order are too complex and cumbersome. It doesn't clear the air and break the puzzle. Approximately hovering between 12 to 18 basic fare levels for each route it would take ages for some to make sense and get the proportionate tariff in place. At least for now it doesn't seem happening.
What looks happenning is the floating traffic would revert to trains and for the much-desired air fares lobbyists-cum-journos would take the wings. Perhaps some seats could be reserved for foreign agents out to make fast buck in the muck that abound around us.
As for DGCA they are as helpless as the CBI sleuths who after raiding this Raja have the temerity to declare that some sizeable incriminating documents have been seized from his home penned in Tamil-cum-Mandarin. To break this Tamil-Mandarin nexus a request for an entire workforce from China has been placed. Probably they would be here post Wen's visit when stapled visas would continue to be an issue to be sorted out in the next issue based meeting between WEn and Manmohan.
